When i grind the spear of the statue, he just grinds it to the end and lands it. Nothing happens he wont pick them up.

I completed story mode and did all the missions but i thought i heard mindy say i can still get peices for the ranch even though i've beat the game. How do i do that? Is there anything besides getting money that i can do on story mode?
