how do you get past the first level i cant find where to go

the big crane

when you get to the big crane jumpdown and you will see a glowing button push circle and
the crane will move then use your grappling gun(R1+Circle) and it will be smooth sailing
the rest of the level. Trust me i've beet the game twice.
