1. Introduction
=======================
Warriors Orochi is KOEI's first game which combines the two popular series,
Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. And when these two are combined the
results are 79 playable characters, 60 stages and many, many different dialogs
and conversations.
The purpose of this guide is to cover all those dialogs and conversations
(excluding cutscene conversations and different quotes), from peasant's
"Save me!" to Orochi's "But they are so frail...". It's hard, but not
impossible. In case you wonder why I started a project like this, it was
simply because I was bored. After unlocking all characters and 4th weapons in
WO, I wanted to spice things up while leveling up my characters.
Right now, I have most of the regular conversations gathered from all 60
stages. I'm still missing many character dialogs and I'm working on those now.
Thanks to the help I've received (and I still do), I hope I'm able to include
all character dialogs in this guide some day.
Okay, I think that's all. But before you move to the character sections, make
sure you read "Legend" section first. Enjoy.
"Difficulty faces you, but you must read on and make your way to
the last section. The typos in the FAQ are formidable. Only a fool would

01/06/08 - Version 0.95 - The first version of this FAQ is finally done. And
it only took 4 months from me... However, I still haven't written down all
dialogs I've found so far. I'll try to add all of them in the coming updates.

1b. Legend
---------------------------
- Use Ctrl + f to find character sections quickly and easily. You can find
the codes next to the character names. Remember to type codes with
capitals.
- [E] stands for Enemy and [YA] for Yellow Ally. However, there are few things
you should know about them:
*  [E]/[YA] = Character says all of
his/her lines as enemy/yellow ally.
* At the beginning (E)/(YA) = All characters who speak are enemies/yellow
allies (only used in NPC section).
* Niu Jin (E)/(YA) = Character who speaks is enemy/yellow ally (only
used in NPC section)
- In case you don't understand all of my conversation unlocking methods, I'll
explain the most common ones:
* At the beginning = The conversation happens automatically and (almost)
immediately when the stage begins.
* Approach Character B (enemy/yellow ally) = Simply approach the character in
order to hear the dialog. Sometimes you need to switch between characters to
hear more dialogs.
* Approach Character B as Character A (player) = You need to approach
Character B as the right character. If your team includes two characters who
have a dialog with Character B, you can only hear one of the dialogs.
* Sometimes characters may speak more than once under the same condition.
These are indicated with an empty space between the conversations, like
this:
At the beginning:
Major: "Lord Sun Ce is under heavy attack on the northern by-path!"
Zhao Yun: "We must help him!"
Zhao Yun: "Divide into two units. The first will rescue Sun Ce. The second
must attract enemy's attention."

Ginchiyo: "I am not just a woman, I am a Tachibana!"
Approach Ginchiyo Tachibana:
Zhao Yun: "I take my eye off for you a second, and you're already my match
in battle!"
Ginchiyo: "I thought you might hold us back, but I was wrong to worry."
Xing Cai: "And it seems you are more than just a big mouth too..."
Ginchiyo: "Do not push your luck, woman."
Xing Cai: "Not just a woman... I am Xing Cai."
Approach Zhang He:
Zhang He: "The quest for life is a beautiful thing... but death is even
more so, at my hands."
Zhao Yun: "Naturally. Everything is to you, isn't it... but I care not for
that. Beautiful or not, I will dispatch you!"
If Zhao Yun is in danger:
Zhao Yun: "Our lord, he lives?! I cannot perish before seeing his face one
more time! I shall cut a swathe of carnage through any army that faces me!"
If Zhao Yun is defeated:
Zhao Yun: "My lord, I have failed you..."
Reach the escape point:
Zhao Yun: "Safety at last! We must dive into danger and rescue my lord!"
At the beginning:
Zhao Yun: "Hold on, Yue Ying! We'll have you out of there soon!"
Approach Magoichi Saika when he reuqest aid from the Coalition Army:
Magoichi: "Thanks. If you're after the woman, they took her north."
Zhao Yun: "You mean my lady? Thank you!"
Magoichi: "Hey, I'm coming too. I can't let another guy get all the credit
for saving a beautiful lady. We'll do it together. Come on, you're gonna need
all the help you can get!"
After Magoichi Saika has promised to help the Coalition Army:
Magoichi: "The name's Magoichi. You must be Zhao Yun."
Zhao Yun: "That's right. You also are part of the Resistance movement?"
Magoichi: "I guess heroism just runs in my blood, y'know... That, and
that girl was hot!"
Rescue Yue Ying:
Yue Ying: "A million thanks. I am in your debt."
Zhao Yun: "We're not out of the woods yet, my lady. Follow me, and I shall
lead you to safety."
Approach Mitsunari Ishida:
Mitsunari: "Give it up. Don't disgrace yourself with a futile resistance."
Zhao Yun: "While hope remains for my lord, I will never surrender!"
Once Da Ji arrives:
Zhao Yun: "That woman, is she one of the enemy too?"
Yue Ying: "That is Da Ji. She is Orochi's strategist."
Magoichi: "So she's a nasty piece of work, huh? But she sure is one foxy
lady!"
Once ambush party appears:
Zhao Yun: "An ambush! We've been outfoxed!"
Yue Ying: "A perfectly timed ambush... Ruthlessly efficient waves of attack...
This is all too familiar for my liking..."
Approach Pang De:
Zhao Yun: "Do as you must, but I will never lose to the lackey of a snake!"
Approach Zhuge Liang:
Zhao Yun: "I respected you... Wherefore must I fight you now?"
Zhuge Liang: "You never change, do you?
Reach the escape point with Yue Ying:
Zhao Yun: "We've lost them... But why would Zhuge Liang have allied himself
with such evil...?"
Yue Ying: "He said the moment was not yet at hand... I know he must have a
plan. He must!
Once Zhao Yun lures out the enemy officers:
Zhao Yun: "Then I shall act out as the bait..."
Lure both enemy units to center:
Zhao Yun: "They've bitten! Now is our chance!"
Yoshihiro: "Ha! They're on the hook! Beat 'em to pieces!"
Jiang Wei: "The enemy are in no-man's land! We must strike!"
If Orochi Army reinforcements appear in the northeast:
Zhao Yun: "The guards from the Ueda have arrived too. Bad timing."
At the beginning:
Zhao Yun: "The castle is completely surrounded. Is it Orochi's army?"
Magoichi: "No, it doesn't look like those snake dudes... Either way, we'd
better get moving! If we take this shortcut, we'll be there in no time!"
Messenger: "Hey, look, phantoms everywhere!"
Zhao Yun: "Phantoms...? Who're they talking about? Not us?"
Magoichi: "Come on, look at me! I'm a red-blooded male. No one's gonna mistake
me for a ghost."
Zhao Yun: "Yes, yes, I'm sure you're right. But for now, if we don't stop
those imposter messengers, it could be chaos."
Approach the messenger units:
Zhao Yun: "Those pesky messengers must be working for Orochi."
Magoichi: "A cunning plan, huh? ...So, those guys laying siege to the castle,
they..."
Zhao Yun: "They probably think they're fightning evil phantom versions of us."
Magoichi: "I know not everyone has my brains, but come on, they've gotta be
pretty stupid for falling to that!"
Approach Wei Yan:
Wei Yan: "Liu Bei... not... here... I... fight... Find... Liu Bei..."
Zhao Yun: "My lord... He is not here! How is that possible? I will not give
up! I believe, no, I know, that he is still alive!"
Approach Yukimura Sanada:
Yukimura: "Such skill... I cannot believe a mindless specter could ever match
me with a spear..."
Zhao Yun: "Trust what your spear is telling you! I am no specter! But maybe
you need more convincing!"
Once Coalition Army launches counter-attack:
Zhao Yun: "Fight back! Give all your strength!"
Approach Da Ji:
Zhao Yun: "I should have known you would be behind this!"
Da Ji: "No one told you were coming!"
Clear the stage:
Magoichi: "Liu Bei is not even here...? You mean I did all that for nothing?!"
Zhao Yun: "My lord... I wonder where he can be..."
If Wei Yan is defeated:
Zhao Yun: "Cheng Du has fallen! Now we may never know where my lord is..."
At the beginning:
Zhao Yun: "Orochi's evil tentacles stretch even this far..."
After you've talked with Meng Huo:
Magoichi: "That big oaf should learn some manners. I'd stay and teach
him a lesson... But I'm out of time, y'know how it is..."
Zhao Yun: "But I cannot turn my back on innocents in need. These are the
teachings of Shu... the teachings of my lord! We must split up and help!"
Approach Kotaro Fuma:
Zhao Yun: "Out of my way, I am in a hurry!"
Kotaro: "Come... Indulge me for a moment."
Zhao Yun: "Ah! it's another one of those snake-men!"
Approach Okuni:
Zhao Yun: "Are you chasing after that thief too?"
Okuni: "Goemon is no thief... He's the greatest burglar of our age."
Zhao Yun: "You make that sound like something to be proud of."
At the beginning:
Zhao Yun: "There is no time to lose!"
Discover one enemy ambush party:
Zhao Yun: "Strange... This was so obvious, not at all like Zhuge Liang...
Almost as if he wanted us to see through it..."
If Zhao Yun is the first person who enters the south garrison:
Zhao Yun: "My lord is imprisonated beyond this very door. Finally... Finally
I can rescue him!"
Approach Zhuge Liang:
Zhao Yun: "I cannot understand you... What is it that you want?"
Zhuge Liang: "You do not understand because you let your heart rule your
head. Your spear is ready to fight your true enemy."
Approach Sun Quan:
Sun Quan: "So, you are prepared to discard your life to save Liu Bei... Be
warned. For the future of Wu, I am prepared to take your life."
Zhao Yun: "You talk of the future of Wu, and yet you are a slave to Orochi!"
Clear the stage:
Zhao Yun: "He was not here either... Do not despair, my lord! Hold out, and
I promise I will come!"
Approach Masamune Date:
Zhao Yun: "I see greatness in you. You shall be a worthy challenge!"
Masamune: "You flatter me... But flattery only gets you killed!"
At the beginning:
Major: "Lord Sun Ce is under heavy attack on the northern by-path!"
Zhao Yun: "We must help him!"

Once Wang Ping distracts the enemy forces:
Zhao Yun: "Excellent! Keep them focused on you!"
Rescue Sun Ce:

Sun Ce: "Never have I been happier to see a warrior of Shu!"
Approach Cao Ren once he rallies himself:
Cao Ren: "I am a rock! It will take more than you have to break through me!"
Zhao Yun: "There are no defenses which my spear cannot penetrate!"
After you have defeated enemy officers around Sun Ce:
Zhao Yun: "We share a common enemy. We must overcome our differences, and
unite against Sima Yi."
Sun Ce: "My thoughts exactly! I'd team up with the devil himself if it
meant I could see a panic in that smarmy face!"
Zhao Yun: "Zhou Yu, you are renowed throughout the land as a brilliant
tactician. I would like to ask you to lead our forces in this battle."
Zhou Yu: "Understood. Watch, and you may learn something."
Approach Kotaro Fuma:
Kotaro: "Return to dust."
Zhao Yun: "You're one of those snake-men, aren't you!?"
Approach Sima Yi:
Sima Yi: "Angering me will lead you nowhere but to the gates of hell!"
Zhao Yun: "Then I will see you there!"
Approach Musashi Miyamoto:
Zhao Yun: "You're not bad with those swords, I must say."
Musashi: "Not bad?! I'm the best, man!"
At the beginning:
Zhao Yun: "The castle keep looks the most likely location. Hold on, my lord,
help is at hand!"
Approach Zhou Cang:
Zhao Yun: "Zhou Cang! What are you doing here?"
Zhou Cang: "I cannot give my reasons. Withdraw, please."
Zhao Yun: "I can never relent until my lord is safe, you know that!"
Zhou Cang: "I do. But you should know that I cannot relent either."
Once Sun Ce arrives:
Sun Ce: "All right, here I am. Never let it be said that I go back on
promise!"
Zhao Yun: "Thank you for your aid, Sun Ce!"
Approach Mi Zhu:
Zhao Yun: "Why is this castle filled with the people of Shu? It makes no
sense..."
Mi Zhu: "I'm sorry, my lord. You must not pass here..."
Zhao Yun: "I will use force if you persist."
Approach Sun Ce:
Zhao Yun: "It is good to see you here!"
Sun Ce: "So this makes us even, right?"
Approach Zhang Fei:
Zhao Yun: "Zhang Fei! I am here to rescue our lord!"
Zhang Fei: "...But I can't let anyone from the Resistance through!"
Zhao Yun: "You and I shouldn't be at odds like this, if there is a reason,
please tell me..."
Zhang Fei: "Shut up! You don't know anything, you don't need to know
anything!"
Defeat Zhang Fei:
Zhao Yun: "Forgive me, but my lord comes first."
Approach the main keep's gate with Sun Ce after defeating Zhang Fei:
Sun Ce: "I'll secure our exit! You go on and get Liu Bei!"
Zhao Yun: "Understood!"
Approach Guan Yu:
Zhao Yun: "Guan Yu! I thought you and I were friends! Break free of your life
of slavery, and help me rescue our lord!"
Guan Yu: "I cannot... Not yet..."
Defeat Guan Yu:
Zhao Yun: "I hope you can forgive me. I promise, I will rescue our lord with
these hands!"
After you have escaped from the Edo Castle's main keep:
Sun Ce: "So Liu Bei wasn't here after all. What do we do now?"
Zhao Yun: "All we can do is to capture Da Ji, and force her to tell us where
he is."
Sun Ce: "Let's find that lying fox and show her just what does it means to
have us as enemies!"
Approach Zhuge Liang:
Zhuge Liang: "I knew you would make it this far."
Zhao Yun: "If you have some reason, then please, tell me!"
Zhuge Liang: "I can say nothing. Be silent, and let your spear do the
talking."
Approach Da Ji:
Zhao Yun: "Tell me now! Where is my Lord Liu Bei?"
Da Ji: "Who? I have no idea who you're talking about... Heh, you should see
the looks on your faces..."
Once Tadakatsu Honda appears:
Zhao Yun: "Who is that man? Never have I laid an eyes on such formidable
warrior!"
Approach Keiji Maeda:
Zhao Yun: "Why would a man of your stature side with such evil?"
Keiji: "Why do guys like you always divide things into "good" and "evil"?
Wisen up already! Life's just not that simple, kid!"
Approach Lu Bu:
Lu Bu: "You wish to fight the mighty Orochi?! Don't make me laugh!"
Zhao Yun: "This spear will not break easily, I assure you!"
Approach Da Ji:
Da Ji: "You're strong, how come you don't want to start your own clan?"
Zhao Yun: "I am no leader. It is only my lord who is fit to lead this land."
Da Ji: "I guess it's moot, as you'll be dead shortly."
Approach Orochi:
Orochi: "You shall have your precious lord. If you can defeat me!"
Zhao Yun: "Finally, this day is upon us. My lord, your freedom awaits you!"
If Zhao Yun is defeated:
Zhao Yun: "I can go no further. My apologies. I leave the rest to you."
