I keep getting blown up with dynomite; how do you throw them back?

dose anyone know how to beat this

i cant control the duels i keep getting killed over and over until i throw my poor controller across the room and break it in to piece's gone through 5 controllers already please help me on the duels please.

I'm talking about the first act, the mission when the brothers no longer dress in army uniforms.

when i played this mission with thomas, the horseman chasing the wagon moved to the sides, so i just shot them.
for some reason, with ray, the horseman are rid...

Does anyone know how you stop the yankees from landing using the canon?
