GaRy 23 glitch

It is possible to keep your inventory from the simulation. This means that you can keep your Winterized Combat Armor, Gauss Rifle, Jingwei's Shock Sword and whatever weapons you got from the Quartermaster (ie:Trench Knife, Assault Rifle, Combat Shotgun, etc.) and then receive your reward from the VSS Armory in the Outcast Outpost.


This is possible by exploiting an inventory glitch where the player's inventory from the simulation is not removed until after the player returns to the Outpost. To perform this glitch, do the following steps in order and remember to save before performing the glitch because it will take several attempts to achieve this. Also note that the player should not have started the simulation already, otherwise it is impossible to do and I would suggest loading a previous save if you really want to keep your simulation items.


1. - To set this glitch up, the player needs to talk to Protector McGraw and then to Specialist Olin to get the Neural Interface Suit. After you equip the suit, open the simulation pod but DO NOT sit down on it.

2. - Go into the locked room where Gary 23 is and then drag his body back into the pod room. Lift his body into the pod, bending him around the foot rest. His legs under the foot rest, and his head on the top, in the middle of the foot rest. You should be able to interact with him by looking all the way down, while on the chair. Save now, and enter the chair, if his head is in the middle of the screen, and obviously in range if you look all the way down, you have him right. Also, make sure his body is within the shell's range, so you don't get him fracked up... You will notice him get fracked up if he gets moved out of the pod, or begins having seizures. ***It is most important here to be looking at the body when the simulation starts as if you were going to search it but the option will be unavailable at this time*** What I did was I took about four of those wooden boxes and stacked them and them put Gary 23 on top of them so he's right in front of me when I sit down. This really worked but sometimes when you put the boxes on the Pod they dissapear, don't worry though they'll appear when you try to put stuff on them.

NOTE : if you wanna make sure that you this will work , just kill all the outcasts in the room , and place them in the pod as well. Killing them won't make the rest of the outcasts hostile towards you as long as you don't leave the simulation area to return to the...

This trick can get you from level 2 to 30 in an hour and is a lot of fun to do.

The only requirements are that you have not yet completed Operation:Anchorage, and make sure you use the sniper rifle for the final quest "operation anchorage". Also you'll want to bulk up on .308 ammo by doing the "ammo" cheat.


BEFORE ENTERING THE SIMULATION:

Before entering the simulation try to get at least 50 in sneak and concentrate on getting this skill as high as you can by the final quest of the sim. This will make things a lot easier on you. By choosing both explosives and sneak as 2 of your 3 tag skills you can also disarm the megaton bomb for a quick level up and add all the skill points in sneak.


GETTING YOURSELF PREPARED:

1-Save your game BEFORE speaking to the quatermaster the VERY FIRST time. You'll want to pass the speech check to get the GAUSS rifle. This will make unarming jingwei much easier. Unarming him is important since he doesn't behave the same way unarmed as he would with his sword (making it easier to stay hidden from him later on). Plus if you did the "GARY" trick you get a pretty cool unbreakable version of the sword (not to mention the gauss itself). Since this speech check can be difficult to pass (especially at low levels) it's best to save and re-load should you fail.

2-Since you can only do the "XP" trick at the very end of the simulation where you meet and defeat gen. jinwei, then you can go about the simulation as you normally would BUT make SURE you choose the sniper requisition equipment for AT LEAST the final quest "operation anchorage". After speaking with the quatermaster and receiving your sniper rifle go inside the tent and bulk up on .308 ammo. To do so press on the ammo dispenser to fill your ammo (if not already full) then go into your inventory and drop the .308 ammo and then refill your ammo again. Repeat this until you have AT LEAST 1000 bullets (you'll need them) best to make it at least 2000 just to make sure. The reason the sniper rifle is needed is to speed up the process by getting 1-hit headshot kills. The combat shotgun works well if you already have at least 70 in small guns.

3-Now you got the GAUSS and you have your sniper rifle with at least 2000 bullets, there's only one last thing. Do NOT speak with sgt. montgomery at this point. The reason for this is that ONLY you and benji can actually hurt and kill jingwei so if you bring him along he'll kill jingwei a mere minutes, ruining...

AlL Requisition Weapons/Ammunition cheat

This glitch/cheat allows you to get unlimited ammo from the ammo dispensers found around in the operation:anchorage simulation and is very easy to do.


You can easily get as much ammo as you want. Simply get the ammo from the dispenser, drop it from your inventory and activate the dispenser again. You can do this as long as you want. This exploit, coupled with the ability to "glitch" items out of the simulator (through the gary 23 glitch (also explained) before the mission) allows you to carry inordinate amount of any available ammunition type out into the real world, so if you are using the glitch, stock up!


NOTES : Don't waste too much time during "guns of anchorage" doing this cheat since once that part of the sim is over and "paving the way" begins all your inventory will be cleared and you'll lose all the ammo you've accumulated thus far. From "paving the way" and on , go nuts since all the ammo you accumulate can be transfered to the "real-world" through the "gary 23" glitch.

The ammo dispensers only refill the following ammo types : .308 Caliber Round , 10mm Round , 5mm Round , 5.56mm Round , Flamer Fuel , Shotgun Shell.

The "gary 23" glitch in a nutshell is simple , find his body and place it inside the pod before going in the simulation (or kill all the outcasts and place their bodies in the pod) this is the only way to transfer the ammo you've accumulated in the sim to the "real-world". The "gary 23" glitch is further explained in detail , in the secret section of this website under the name "gary 23 glitch".
