This one is pretty easy to do once you how to do it. You can do this right at the
beginning of the game and without the risk of dying, if done properly. I'll attempt to
make a step-by-step walkthrough of this cheat, it might seem long and/or complicated but
you'll see it really isn't. For beginners i'll start this cheat from the very start of the
game (those of you who wish to use this cheat on an already created character, you'll be
able to skip most of these steps).
 
1- Start a new game and create your character. Although this is semi-optional, you can
select speech and repair as your tag skills, you'll need 35 at least in both these skills
in order to be able to use this glitch. If you follow this walkthrough, you should be
level 3 by the time you can apply this glitch, so focus on those 2 skills first.
2- Go speak with Sunny Smiles and ask her the quickest way to go to Primm, this will add a
map-marker to the city. (optional: start the tutorial with sunny to get the varmint rifle,
you can end the tutorial right after shooting the bottles and you'll still keep the
rifle)
3- Follow the road to Primm, along the way you should run into some Powder gangers, if you
have the varmint rifle i suggest using that weapon to conserve your better ammo until
later. Also loot their bodies for extra ammo, guns, dynamite etc.
4- As you reach Primm, you'll be approached by an NCR trooper, continue to the NCR camp
(optional: you can enter some of these NCR tents to loot some NCR armor and some ammo and
also use the bed if you need to heal). Cross the bridge to Primm, watch out for the 3 frag
mines. The town is full of convicts, so try to spot them and take them out before they all
gang up on you and overwhelm you. They aren't much tougher than powder gangers but there
are about 5-6 of them fairly close to one another. Loot their bodies after dealing with
them.
5- Enter the Vikki & Vance casino, you'll be approached by Johnson Nash, speak to him
until you start the quest "my kind of town". Johnson is also a vendor, try using the "buy
& sell" glitch to buy all the ammo, stims and weapons he has (the buy & sell glitch is
where the vendor has 2 or more of the SAME weapon, you buy the cheaper one and re-sell it
to the vendor, do this again until the weapon becomes 100% condition and you sell it for a
profit, hence you can buy everything for free. if the vendor doesn't have 2 of the same
weapon but has one weapon that you also have, selling him/her your version of the weapon
will also work).
6- Make the quest "my kind of town" active and complete it, until you save the kidnapped
deputy. If he makes his way back to the vikki & vance, he'll tell you where Nipton and
Novac are on the map, if he gets killed you can loot his journal. Listening to his journal
on your pip-boy will mark those 2 locations on your map.
7- Follow the road to Nipton. If you are wearing NCR armor...TAKE IT OFF before you reach
Nipton, otherwise you'll have an un-winnable fight on your hands at low levels. Go through
the town, once you pass the train tacks your map will update and the marker will point to
Novac.
8- Follow the road to Novac, along the way you'll encounter some vipers (raiders) and
watch out for mines underneath red cones, they are hard to see. Worse case scenario you
can fast travel back to Primm and use the bed at the NCR camp for healing, save those
stimpaks for later.
9- Once you reach Novac, spot the Dinosaur and enter it. Inside is a shop where you use
the buy & sell glitch to stock up on some ammo, stims, guns and explosives. If you need
healing you can use one of the motel rooms to rest up for free. Once your done shopping go
back outside and look north you should see a large "tower", that is your next destination.
It cannot yet be marked on your map, so follow the road north and until you reach HELIOS
one.
10- Once you reach HELIOS one you'll be approached by an NCR lt. the only way to gain
access without shooting your way through, which at this point will surely prove fatal, is
to pass one of 2 speech checks, one you'll need 35 in speech to pass the other 30. (i've
done this with 6 characters yet, the exact same way as i'm describing to you and sometimes
i get the 35 speech check sometimes the 30, idk why...so to make sure you don't have to
back track to get a magazine or level up make sure you have 35 in speech before you get
there)
11- If you've passed the 35 speech check the quest "that lucky old sun" will have started,
activate it to have a marker leading you to the scientists. If you passed the 30 speech
check (lie) then you'll have to find them yourself, once you speak with the scientists the
quest will start. Once you have spoken with Fantastic and Ignacio they'll each give you a
password for the terminals outside. The first terminal is guarded by traps, watch out for
them, the other by 3 dogs, killing the dogs should not make you hostile with the soldiers
if it does re-load and simply run pass them, they will not chase you past the chain-link
gate.
12- If you haven't done so already, activate the quest "that lucky old sun" and follow the
marker until you reach the base of the tower. Inside are turrets and protectrons
(sometimes robobrains). The turrets can be easily taken out, using VATS to target the
turrets but not actually firing at them with VATS will allow you to have pinpoint aiming
when exiting VATS so you can simply shoot them without taking much damage. (optional: use
the terminal in the room right in front of you to shut down the turrets). Protectrons can
be easily taken out with dynamite. At this point don't worry about using your stimpaks and
your best weapons/ammo.
13- Once your done with this room locate the large door on the right, go through there,
then down a sewer-like passage and then go through the door on the left, a protectron
(sometimes robobrain) will be there. Keep following the passage left take out the
proctectron, then open the door at the end, inside are 4-5 proctectrons. Only one of them
fit inside the doorframe so wait outside and blast the one coming out with dynamite or
frag grenades either way you shouldn't have any trouble with them. (friend of mine just
told me all of this can be bypassed: in the room with the turrets, at bottom you can open
a door inside is an elevator that will take you to the mainframe. I've never actually
noticed or tried it myself, but he's always been a reliable source). Also make sure you
loot the proctectrons, in this room or the one with the turrets, for one piece of scrap
metal, you'll need it.
14- Once you are at the mainframe you'll need to repair the generator next to it, you'll
need 35 in repair and a piece of scrap metal. Once that's done access the mainframe.
CRUCIAL: When you will be prompt to select how to distribute the power you MUST choose the
5th and last option: FULL REGION. Any other selection will void the glitch. Once that's
done go up the staircase and outside, and activate the console.
15- At this point your objective should be to go back to Ignacio, so back-track to the
scientists and speak with Ignacio......Here's the fun part, tell him you have "overloaded
the plant" and you'll finish the quest, BUT the option to tell him so will still remain so
keep telling him you have "overloaded the plant" and you will receive 350xp, 3 stimpaks
and 2 doctor's bags EVERY time. From level 3-30 you should receive about 600 stimpaks and
400 doctor's bags, needless to say you'll have to drop a lot of them since you'll be
over-encumbered.
16- Check your playing time, it should be between 60-90 minutes.
 
NOTES:
The obvious one is that a glitch like this will surely be patched, as of right now it
isn't so if you want to take advantage of it you should do so while you still can.
