Again, refer to the above section for more details on normal drag races. A good time - around 5.5 - 8 seconds for 1/4 mile and 9 to 11 seconds in the later stages of the game. May sound impossible at first, but trust me you can do it! ******************** WHEELIE COMPETITION ******************** You'll need a muscle car with oodles of BHP to qualify for Wheelie Competitions. Personally, I use a 500 bhp Chevelle, but people have had huge success with Dodge Chargers, Supras, and Zondas. In wheelie events, your aim is to keep the car on its two rear wheels over as long a distance as possible. Remember, to pass a wheelie event and win, it is quite important that you shift when the meter is in the red or the green. Of course, we'd love to get all perfect shifts, but that is quite a challenge with a 1000 BHP monster. Also key to winning these events is Nitrous. Hit the NOS button when the front end starts to go down. ****** How to perform a wheelie ****** To pop wheelies, the car you are using must have at least Level 3 suspension, below that, you are not even going to get 10 feet. The Supra and Chevelle are great wheelie cars, in fact, I use a 500 bhp Chevelle which can wheelie the whole quarter mile. These are the upgrades that are highly recommended to make a good wheelie car. Engine - Level 3 Drivetrain - Level 3 Forced Induction - Level 3 Suspension - Level 3 Brakes - Level 2 (upgrade later, not that important) Nitrous - Level 3 (most important after engine/drivetrain) Tires - Level 2 or 3 (preferably 3) Body Kit - Wide Body Kit (for Supra), any other for other cars Spolier - Any, make sure you AutoSculpt it Wheels - Any Tuning is not essential and you should not use it much for Wheelie Competitions, it isn't needed. Secondly, as soon as you hit third gear in a wheelie, hit the nitrous button to maintain the wheelie, without nitrous in a wheelie, I can barely scrape past 780 feet, and with nitrous I can, as mentioned earlier, go on for more than a thousand feet. To start off a wheelie, get a perfect launch and try to maintain perfect shifts. As mentioned in the above paragraph, just hit the Nitrous button when you get into second (for Supra) or third (for Chevelle), and you should be wheeleing the quarter in no time! A good target to aim at - about 1,100 - 1,400 feet in the later stages of the game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- DRIFT RACE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In drift races, your objective is to keep the car going sideways for as long as you can. Your score is adjudged by the car's speed, angle, and length (time) of the drift. The following are the bonuses you can get while drifting: >> Nitrous Drift - 100 points - Drifting while nitrous is on >> Long Drift - 250 points - Drifting for a long distance >> Stayed on track - 200 points - Not going off the scoring zone >> High Speed Bonus - 250 points - Starting a drift at over 65 mph As you approcach the apex of a turn, turn the analog stick sharply in the direction of the turn and apply the handbrake to start a drift. Immediately turn in the opposite direction and keep the stick held there, but release the handbrake. While the car is in a drift, fire NOS to speed it up, or press the handbrake to prevent it from going forward about every 5 to 7 seconds. Be aware that it may take some time for you to get better at drifting, it is one of the tougher modes, and may cause you problems. A good score to aim for - Once you get above 2,000 points, your game will gradually improve. Many say the RX-7 is the best for drifting, and I also use one for my drifting, as does the drift king. However, everyone is different, so experiment till you find something you like. I now get at least 4,000 points per race depending on the track. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPEED RACES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************** SPEED CHALLENGE *************** Speed Challenge is basically a return of the 'Sprint' mode in Carbon, but with a few changes. Firstly, the cars you will start to use will be quite faster, and you will need to drive carefully. I recommend smooth movements of the analog sticks, since jerky motions can casue the car to turn to much, and a crash at these speeds will almost certainly total your car. Secondly, the tracks will not have any turns that are sharp, all the turns can be taken without braking, though you may need to stop accelerating for some of them. In the cars department, I recommend a Murcielago/Porsche 911 Turbo in the later stages of the game. These cars a are fast and handle well on the circuit, though the Evo may seem a little too responsive to some. I used to use a Viper but now use a Porsche 911 GT2, which does not accelerate well but boasts loads of mid-range torque. ************* TOP SPEED RUN ************* A Top Speed Challenge consists of a series of checkpoints on a normal 'Speed' track. As you pass through these checkpoints, your speed is recorded and added to your overall tally. At the end of the race, the driver with the most points wins. You will, of course, use the same car as you do in Speed challenges. There's not much to this mode, though you may need to apply nitrous before a checkpoint if you are suffering right before a checkpoint. A good average speed - About 190-220 MPH in the later stages of the game. ============================================================================ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CUSTOMIZATION - CHAPTER 3 > Spoilers >> Roof Scoops >> Wheels Using the different parts and AutoSculpt, change the look and feel of your car and make it faster and better looking! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERFORMANCE PARTS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Various performance packs such as engine parts, suspension parts, turbos, transmissions, and nitrous packs are available. You can install these parts, which affect the car more and more as you install a higher level. There are five levels of parts. >> Stock >> Level 1 >> Level 2 >> Level 3 >> Level 4 You can tune all the parts by tweaking the settings in the 'Tune' menu, and then do a Dyno Test to check out the changes to your ride. Finally, update the blueprint, and get racing! Also, Level 4 parts can be obtained by using the cheat 'UNLOCKALLTHINGS', or can be won as rewards after winning/dominating Race Days later on in your Career. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIXING AND REPAIRING YOUR CAR ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obviously, your car will receive a lot of damage as you progress through the game. This will affect the performance and aerodynamics of the ride, and you surely don't want to race in every race with the same broken ride! There are three kinds of damage, which will fill up a third of the damage bar in increments. You can repair your car's damage with Repair Markers, Cash, or Total Repair Markers (used for cars that have been TOTALED) You may purchase markers for 5,000 in the Marker Management screen, and save these for repairs in excess of 5,000. 1 - LIGHT DAMAGE Light damage is cursory damage that affects performance in a minor way. I recommend using cash to fix this kind of damage, since it will usually not set you back alot. 2 - HEAVY DAMAGE You should save your repair markers for heavy damage, which takes a lot of cash to repair. Hence, I usually save my markers for cars with heavy damage. This affects preformance majorly. 3 - TOTALED! When your ride is totaled, your only option is to repair it with a total repair marker, which you will win by choosing the reward card for it after winning/dominating a raceday. Otherwise, your ride is wrecked, cannot be repaired with cash, and is gone forever. A trick, of course, is to quit the game and start the race again before it is saved after you total a car. However, this is sometimes frowned upon as cheating and is despised by veterans. ============================================================================ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> STREET KINGS / RACEDAYS - CHAPTER 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CHEAT CODES >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CREDITS |
