NFSS1B. Driver Levels
=====================
As you play through the events, you will earn profile points to increase your
Driver Level. Profile points are separated into two categories: Precision and
Aggression. Precision points are rewarded for driving clean. Overtaking
opponents cleanly, following the racing line, driving through turns and
sections of the track without going off the track will add to precision points.
Aggression points are awarded for driving aggressively. Trading paint with
opponents, fighting to pass opponents, spinning opponents out, and drafting
will add to your Aggression points. As you race, there will be a bar at the top
of the screen keeping track of your profile points for that event. When the
bars fill up, any points you earn for a few seconds afterwards will be doubled.
At the end of the race, your points will be added up to help level up your
Driver level. The driving style the computer believes you to be will be based
on your Precision and Aggression points. Whichever you have more of is the
driving style the computer considers you to be and opponents will be adjusted
based on your style. It is possible to switch between Precision and Aggression
after your points have been added up. There are 50 levels

NFSS2. Vehicles

Cars can be bought and won. You are only able to hold 22 cars maximum in your
Garage and only cars that you purchase count towards that total. Any cars that
are won by reaching a certain Driver Level are only available in Quick Race and
Online but driving them does count towards Manufacturer Loyalty Badges. You can
only hold 2 cars at the beginning of the game but every 5 levels you are able
to hold to more. As you unlock more Tiers, more exotic cars become available to
you. There are two ways to purchase cars: In-game money or by using funds from
your PSN account's wallet. There also upgrades available, but some cars may not
have any. Some cars are able to be fitted with Nitrous. Others may be able to
be Works converted. To Works convert your car, you must first buy all available
upgrades and then you will be given the option to Works convert for an extra
$250,000-$350,000. Others may be Drift capable and those are the only cars
available to be used in Drift events. Any car unlocked by reaching a certain
Driver Level can only be used in Quick Race

NFSS3. Career
=============
To start out your Career, you will be placed in a BMW M3 E92. You will go
around Brands Hatch Indy. After you finish your lap, the game will give you a
difficulty level (Easy, Medium, or Hard) and Driving Style (Casual, Normal,
Experienced, or Pro). The higher Driving Style, the fewer assists will be
available to you. Then you will run a race on the same track with opponents.
Winning this race will earn you $40,000 and 10th place will still give you
$23,000 with which you can buy your first car. Career mode is split into Tiers.
To unlock higher Tiers, you need to earn enough Stars, which you can win by
doing certain tasks during event. Placing on the podium and earning a certain
amount of points during races can earn you Stars. Some events may award you
with an extra Star for doing an additional challenge. If you don't earn all
available Stars the first time around, you can always go back and try for them
again. You can't earn Stars you already have, nor can you lose any Stars you
already have earned. As you unlock higher Tiers, you also unlock more cars and
upgrades. As you work your way through Career, you will be invited to
participate in Invitational Events. These events will test you since most of
them are taken from later in your Career. Winning these events can also net a
nice amount of cash, too. Along the way, you will meet some rivals. When racing
Rivals, there name will appear in red during the race. Place on the podium in
all events in that competition and you will face the Rival one-on-one. The main
goal is to unlock the NFS World Tour and win. You can be disqualified during
events by doing certain things. If you cut corners, occasionally it will give
you a warning and your lap time will not count. It will give you two warning
before disqualifying you on the third offense. You can also be disqualified by
driving backwards or by reversing. You will be given 5 seconds to turn around
before being DQ'ed.

NFSS3A. Stars
=============
To progress through Career, you need to earn enough Stars to unlock higher
Tiers, which also unlock better cars and upgrades. Stars can be earned by doing
different tasks.
Podium Finish
-------------
These Stars are guaranteed, in that they can be earned in every event. The
higher you finish, the more Stars you earn, up to 3. Third place walks away
with 1 Star, whilst winning the event nets you 3 Stars.
Points Threshold
----------------
These Stars are available in most events. There are always 2 Stars available
whenever you can earn these Stars. The higher amount of the two will either be
double the first amount or the first amount plus half of the amount (EX. 1
Star=400 points, 2 Star=600 points; 400+200=600). In Drift events, these Stars
are based your total score, rather than round scores.
Speed Threshold
---------------
These Stars are relatively easy to obtain. All you have to do is hit the Speed
required at some point in the race.
Race Line
---------
These Stars are also relatively easy to obtain. You will need to follow 75% of
the Race Line. In Races, most times, this Star will be based on the race as
whole, so you might not get it until late in the race. In Time Attacks, this
Star will be based on a single lap.
Lap Time
--------
When this Star is available, all you have to do is run a lap faster than the
specified time. The game will not tell you the time to beat until you do the
event
Clean Lap
---------
This Star in self-explanatory. All you have to do is go a whole lap without
making contact with any opponents are driving off track
Spin Opponents
--------------
These Stars are probably the hardest to obtain. You will have to spin 4
opponents. To get credit, you will have to see 'Spin Opponent' appear under the
half of the bar that keeps track of Aggression points during the race. If 'Tap
Out Opponent' appears, it will not count towards the 4 that you need to spin.
Slides
------
This Star will require that you perform a certain amount of Corner Slides.
Depending on the track, it is possible to get this Star within the first lap
Drift Time
----------
These Stars are only available in Drift events. To get these, you must Drift
for 4 seconds at one time. This is easily done going around the widest turn.
Corner Slide
------------
Like the Drift Time Stars, they are easily done around the widest turn. To get
these, you need to slide for 3 seconds. There is no set score for Corner Slide
that determines whether you get this Star, rather you need to slide for 3
seconds. You may need to utilize the Handbrake to get these
Master Corners
--------------
To get these Stars, you must have all Corners at the track mastered. If you
already have the Minor Badge for Mastering all Corners at that track, this Star
will be awarded as soon as the event begins. If you Master all Corners during
the event, you will still earn the Star
Lead Whole Lap
--------------
These Stars are sort of easy to get. These are not awarded Finish Line to
Finish Line, rather from point to point (unless you happen to take the lead at
the line). From the time you take the lead, you must get back to that point
without losing the lead. Once you do, you will awarded this Star
Draft Points

This Star is easy to get. All you have to do is earn 100 points by Drafting

NFSS3B. Tracks
==============
There are 49 Tracks in Shift: 37 Race tracks and 12 Drift tracks. Some tracks
are based off of real world locations while some are made up. Just like the
cars, Tracks are split between Europe, Japan, and the US. You can earn badges
by running a clean race at all Race tracks and by mastering all the corners at
most tracks (Some tracks do not keep track of corners to master because the
shape of the track). If you choose to do Quick Race, you can choose whether you
want to Race, compete in a Drift event, or compete in a Time Attack, the number
of laps run (Except at Aremberg, Karussell, and Nurburg), the number of
opponents (0-15) and the time of day (Dawn, Midday, and Dusk).

Competition, and Time Attack. Tier 1 is unlocked from the beginning. Race
Coalition is a group of 5 single races to help you earn Stars and money and to
help get you started. Manufacturer Competition is a group of 4 single races.
You will be given a car to use and all your opponents will be in the same car.
In Time Attack, the winner is based on who has the fastest lap. You will be
given a time limit and there is no limit to the amount of laps you can run.

NFSS5. Tier 2 Events

Tier 2 Events are separated into seven categories: Car Battle, Mixed Event,
Drift Competition, Mixed Series, USA Series, Japan Series, and Europe Series.
Tier 2 is unlocked after earning 30 Stars. Car Battle is a group of 6 single
events. Car Battle is similar to the Manufacturer Competition in Tier 1 but you
are able to choose either car. Car Battle is a Driver Duel and the first to win
2 of the 3 races wins. Mixed Event is a group of 7 events: 3 Races, 3 Time
Attacks and a Rival Challenge. Place on the podium in all 6 events to unlock
the 7th event. The Drift Competition is based not only on speed but also on
style. The closer you get to the cones, the more points you will earn. In the
Mixed Series, you earn points based on your finishing position in each event.
The person with the highest amount of points after all events are complete will
win. For the Regional Series, there are 7 events. 6 of them are split between
Race, Drift, and Time Attack. Each Region will only have 2 of the previously
mentioned event types. The 7th event will be a Rival Challenge. You need 30
Stars to unlock Tier 2

NFSS6. Tier 3 Events
====================
Tier 3 Events are separated into seven categories: Mixed Track, Car Battle,
Manufacturer Competition, three regional battles, and Endurance. In Mixed
Track, you will attend a variety of tracks and compete on each layout
available. Whoever has the most points wins. Car Battle is the same as it was
in Tier 2; you are given the choice of two different cars and you and an
opponents race best of three. Manufacturer Competition is also the same as
before. Everyone will drive the same car and skill will decide the winner. For
regional battles, the car you enter with will determine which team you are on.
You will still need to fight for individual wins against teammates. Endurance
will be normal events but the events will take longer than most other events.
You need 80 Stars to unlock Tier 3.
