This is my attempt at writing a walkthrough for Soulcalibur IV. I've never written a Walkthrough before, unless you count several half-attempts that never really made it past the note-taking stage. As such, I don't really know what I'm doing yet, so please bear with me. This walkthrough began simply as a bunch of notes about the Tower of Lost Souls. Eventually I thought that maybe I could make it into a walkthrough covering all of the different modes of the game, how to unlock all of the extra characters, etc. However, it isn't finished yet, and focuses at the moment mostly on the Tower of Lost Souls. You'll notice that in a lot of places an item, acquisition condition, suggestion, etc., will be marked with "[@U]". This indicates that I didn't discover it myself, it came from tips people sent to me. These people are credited below in the Credits section. I arranged it this way to keep the guide easy to read. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Contact Info XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Contact: E l i x y m (at) Y a h o o (dot) c o m If you have information not currently in this guide and you feel like e-mailing me, that would be great. Please also tell me the name you would like me to use when I give you credit for it. This will help me get the guide updated quicker. Requests to post this guide on other sites will take time to consider since I'm focusing on trying to get the guide finished right now. You probably won't get a quick reply, but it doesn't mean your request won't be considered. If you don't receive a reply from me, it doesn't mean that I didn't find your e-mail helpful or that I'm ignoring you. It simply means I'm getting a lot of mail, and I may not be able to reply to all of it. Many thanks to all those who have sent contributions! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The Tower of Lost Souls XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Welcome to the Tower! May you not become a Lost Soul in your quest through this fun but frustrating Mode. In the Tower of Lost Souls, you've got two options: Ascend, or Descend. (You can only descend after you've already ascended to the 20th floor, however.) When you choose to ascend, you'll make your way up through 60 floors by fighting the bosses and baddies that guard them. The "floors" are just regular stages. Most of the floors are in groups of three, and you have to get through the entire set to move onward. Each floor has a Treasure, which is unlocked by fulfilling a specific acquisition condition. Just what are these conditions? Well, the game doesn't tell you directly. Instead, you are given hints about the conditions, though you only get the hint after you've already been to that floor once. Some of these hints are fairly straightforward, such as "Lure them all into the abyss" (Defeat all enemies by Ring-Out) or very confusing, such as "Strike with Precision." (Which really had me stumped for a while, but which I now know means you must hit with every attack.) It would have been nice for the game to be a little clearer about the conditions, really. But then, you've got me! And when I can't figure them out, there's all the helpful people who e-mailed me (thanks guys!) When you choose to Descend, instead of fighting specific foes, you'll fight a series of opponents randomly chosen from the baddies within the tower. Unlike Ascending, you don't get a break in-between--it's a survival mode, and you go for as long as you can and then you get the darned "Mission Failed" Screen. Grrr. Instead of getting treasures by fulfilling certain conditions, you get them for reaching certain floors, always in multiples of 5. So, there's a treasure for the 5th floor, the 10th floor, 15th floor, etc. However, note that just reaching these floors isn't enough--you've got to win them, too. So, in order to get the treasure for floor 10 you've actually got to make it to floor 11. Like I said, most of these battles are random, but not all of them. The foes on the floors with treasures seem to stay the same, though some of them are like Olcadan from Soulcalibur III in that they can use many different styles of weapon. For example, On floor 5 and floor 15, you'll fight Ellie and Sylvia respectively. Ellie and Sylvia are girls in cat suits who can fight in many different styles. So far, I've seen Ellie fighting like Voldo, Seong Mi-Na, Xianghua, and Ivy. Sylvia, I've seen with Nightmare's and Astaroth's weapons. There's probably other styles she can use, too. Anyway. You get the idea. One last thing, before moving on. While each floor has a treasure, most of these treasures can also be unlocked by achieving the "Honors." (See the Honors section for more detail.) If you've already unlocked the item that was the treasure, you get a reward of gold, instead, for fulfilling the condition. Because of this, there are some floors that I didn't figure out the items for yet, and I only have an amount of gold listed instead. Sorry about that, and I'll keep working on it. ASCENDING Okay, so here we are. I'm going to list each floor, then the treasure you get for it, then the hint for that floor, then the acquisition condition, and, lastly, some suggestions on easy (possibly cheaty) ways to fulfill this condition. Keep in mind that this isn't finished yet--there are some floors where I haven't gotten the treasure, some floors where I'd already unlocked whatever the treasure was and so only got gold, etc. Thanks to a lot of help from others though, I now have all the acquisition conditions, and am only missing a few items. Good luck, and happy ascension! As noted above, you'll see "[@U]" in a lot of places. That means the idea didn't come from @me. :) Look in the Credits section to see where it came from. Floor 1 Item: Soldier's Hat Hint: "Do not part with your vitality." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with no damage taken. Suggestions: This isn't too hard. You can probably do it with anybody, but it might be a good idea to use someone who has a long reach, like Siegfried or Seong Mi-Na. Or you could try just repeatedly throwing your opponent, but then you have to get close. Floor 2 Item: Warrior Trousers Hint: "Only weak fools perish in the darkness." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with no Ring Out from either parties. Suggestions: Pretty simple. Just stay away from the edges of the stage, and maybe look into getting yourself a nullify ring out skill. Floor 3 Item: Pauldron Hint: "You are not alone." Acquisition Condition: Switch with an ally 2 or more times. Suggestions: Easiest condition there is. Just switch a couple times, and done. Wish more of them were this easy. . . Floor 4 Item: Warlord's Belt OR 1000 gold Hint: "Unleash attacks that strike and seize." Acquisition Condition: Performed 3 attack throws. Suggestion: I used Siegfried, and his Thrust Throw attack. Flap Jack and Over Toss would work too. If you want to use somebody else, but you don't know their attack throws, just go into the moves list and look for ones that say AT in an orange circle. They're attack throws. Floor 5 Item: Clergy clothes Hint: "Lure into the abyss." Acquisition Condition: Defeated an enemy by Ring Out. Suggestions: Siegfried and Raphael are both very helpful for getting Ring Outs. Siegfried's Thrust Throw, Flap Jack, and Over Toss are great, as is Raphael's Unending Stings (which is his B-G throw.) Floor 6 Item: Wonder Jacket Hint: "Catch the enemy with your own hands." Acquisition Condition: Threw an opponent. Suggestion: Not much to say, is there? ;) Floor 7 Item: Warrior Trousers [@U] OR 1500 gold Hint: "Strike with precision." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without missing any attacks. [@U] Suggestions: [@U] Ushinotane suggested using someone slow with a long reach. He also said Nightmare's combo, down-back and B, A-B, down-B, works well for this. I personally have trouble doing this because I'm terrible with Nightmare. I just used throws, near an edge, and tried to get a Ring Out. elemental_drago said that using Vader's x+square throw is good for this, if you're standing with your own back to the edge of the ring. (Vader is only in the ps3 version, though.) Floor 8 Item: Armor Ring: Ice Mirror Hint: "You are not alone." Acquisition Condition: Switch with an ally 2 or more times. Suggestions: Another easy one. Don't get used to it. . . Floor 9 Item: Scarlet Blossoms OR 1500 gold Hint: "Become a shield to repel the blade." Acquisition Condition: Guarded the opponent's attack 3 times in a row. Suggestions: Not necessarily easy, but not much to be said, either. Just keep trying. Floor 10 Item: Silver Boots [@U] OR 1500 gold Hint: "The best offense is a good defense." Acquisition Condition: Guarded the opponent's attack 10 times in a row.[@U] suggestions: I haven't found any way to make this easier yet. Floor 11 Item: Grim Horn OR 2000 gold Hint: "Use your ultimate attack without reservation." Acquisition Condition: Defeated all enemies with Critical Finish. Suggestions: The easiest way I've found to do a Critical Finish is with Yun-Seong and his Avenging Claws. Just keep doing it until the opponent's soul gauge flashes red, then once or twice more and then you should be able to perform a Critical Finish. The opponent may start Guard Impacting your Avenging Claws, though, so be careful. Keep trying, and eventually it should work. Floor 12 Item: Magus Cloth Hint: "Lure them all into the abyss." Acquisition Condition: Defeated all enemies by Ring-Out. Suggestions: Siegfried's Over Toss is especially good for this battle, because he can toss people over the low walls in the stage. That way, you don't have to worry about breaking the breakable walls, which most other fighters might have to do in order to be able to Ring-Out. Plus Over Toss works even against baddies with the Auto Grapple Break skill. Just crouch down near the edge and use Over Toss to throw them out of the ring. Use Flap Jack if they are on the side close to the edge, but remember that Flap Jack doesn't throw them as high so it will be more difficult to get the opponent Ringed Out with this. Floor 13 Item: Pegasus Sallet Hint: "Don't let the walls contain your rage." Acquisition condition: Destroyed all the walls within the stage. Suggestions: Take Siegfried. Stand with your back to the wall you want to break, and use Thrust Throw. If you manage to stab the opponent, Siegfried will smash them down on the other side--and into the wall. Works like a charm. Floor 14 Item: Phantom Pavilion-Seesaw (It's a stage.) Hint: "A true warrior does not seek protection; repel the blade." Acquisition Condition: Performed 3 or more Guard Impacts. Suggestions: Customize a character with the skill Auto Impact A, and keep guarding until you get the treasure. Floor 15 Item: Submission Belt [@U] Hint: "Devote your strategy to a singular strike." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage only with A & G. [@U] Suggestions: You can use horizontal strikes and guard, and also A-G throws. You can't use vertical strikes or kick without failing the condition. Floor 16 Item: warlord's Pauldrons Hint: "The victor emerges at the final moment." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with time remaining at 0. Suggestions: There really isn't any way to make this easier. Just get the opponent really close to K.O. and wait for the time to tick down to about 1 or 0, then strike the last blow. Something will probably go wrong the first few times you try--Somehow they always seem to know enough to attack you right at the last instant, interrupting you just enough to ruin everything. Ah well. Just keep at it, and take a break to cool off if you start getting the impulse to throw your controller at something. . . ;) Floor 17 Item: Arm Bandages [@U] OR 2500 gold Hint: "Master the ceaseless dance." Acquisition Condition: Executed a 5+ combo [@U] Suggestions: [@U] Ushinotane suggested using Amy's attack, back-BK, for a 9 hit combo. The attack is called Stocatta Rampage Crescendo. Floor 18 Item: Kouchu Kabuto OR 2500 gold Hint: "Explore the boundaries of the stage." Acquisition Condition: Stood on all corners of the stage. Suggestions: Maybe take somebody who can move fast? Nullify Ring Out would be a good skill, too, because in order to stand at the corners of the stage you need to be right near the edge--prime Ring Out territory. Not nice. Floor 19 Item: Demonic Kabuto Hint: "Fight with your allies." Acquisition Condition: Switched with an ally 5 or more times. Suggestions: Easily done, not much to be said. Floor 20 Item: Life Gem: Sun, OR 2500 gold Hint: "Hand down judgement with one swing." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with a critical finish. Suggestions: Once again, Yun-Seong and his Avenging Claws attack is the easiest way to go about this that I've found. Floor 21 Item: Longhua Qipau Hint: "Give in to the abyss" Acquisition Condition: Voluntarily performed a Ring Out. Suggestions: Just move to the edge and jump out. Unfortunately, you'll then lose that person from your team, so you might want to get through this set of floors first and then come back for this treasure. Also, make sure the person who's going to jump out doesn't have the Nullify Ring Out skill. floor 22, Item: Honor Boots Hint: "Interrupt your opponent's attacks with your own." acquisition condition: Performed 4 or More Counter Hits. Suggestions: Counter hits, I think, just means hitting somebody who is also attacking, so it's pretty easy to do. Maybe it would be helpful to take somebody who attacks fast, like Taki. But it probably doesn't matter too much, since I did it with Siegfried, and he's pretty slow. If you have trouble with it, though, try customizing somebody with the skill Auto Counter A. It might help. Floor 23 Item: Frilled Skirt Hint: "Become a shield to repel the blade" Acquisition Condition: Guarded the opponent's attack 3 times in a row. Suggestions: You know the drill. If you fail, just keep on trying. Floor 24 Item: Protect Gem: Cardinal Direction [@U] Hint: "Surpass the limit of power with one attempt." Acquisition Condition: Performed a combo with a total damage over 240[@U] Suggestions: [@U] xxGroomexx suggested using Astaroth's Discus Breaker attack for this condition. It works very well, and is easy to do (I love attacks that are easy to do!) You should probably customize Astaroth with as high an attack as you can manage, to make sure enough damage is done. Floor 25 Item: Zhuque Changpao Hint: "Apprehend with your hands multiple times." Acquisition condition: Threw 5 times Suggestions: Nothing special to this one. I love the easy ones, don't you? Floor 26 Item: Warthog Cuirass [@U] OR 3500 gold Hint: "Master the Never-ending Dance." Acquisition Condition: Executed a 10+ Combo [@U] Suggestions: [@U] Chaos ZX suggested using Amy's Dread Coffin~Stocatta Rampage Crescendo attack for the 10+ combo. (You can look it up in the Move List.) You have to be walking back and press the vertical attack button, have it hit an attacking opponent, and then press the vertical attack button again. Another option, suggested by TheKench, is to use Amy's Falling Prayer and then Stocatta Rampage Crescendo, (forward B-K, back B-K, B.) Either one works well, so choose the one that's easiest for you. Floor 27 Item: Iron Gauntlets [@U] Hint: "Do not part with your vitality." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with no damage taken. Suggestions: This one's harder than the last floor like this. Not much to say except the same thing I said for the last one--choose a fighter with a long weapon, or repeatedly use throws (or do both.) Floor 28 Item: Aculeus Suit [@U] 3500 gold Hint: "Keep jolting the opponent's defense." Acquisition Condition: Opponent guarded a Guard Break attack at least twice. Suggestions: Yun-Seong's Avenging Claws is a good Guard Break attack, since it's quick and very easy to perform. If you want to use somebody else's, look in the Move List for attacks that say GB in a blue circle. Floor 29 Item: Menghu Boots Hint: "Fight with your allies." Acquisition Condition: switched with an ally 5 or more times Suggestions: Another easy one! Yay! Floor 30 Item: Spirit Gem: Nonuple Heads Hint: "A fearless warrior triumphs." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without guarding. Suggestions: Ouch. This can be a pain, simply because guarding is such a habit. Plus, there's the problem of surviving when you can't guard. You might want to customize a character for this battle with some extra HP. Floor 31 Item: Longming Qipau [@U] Hint: "Rely on impeccable timing for victory." Acquisition Condition: Performed 5 or more Just Inputs. [@U] Suggestions: You need to use an attack that says (Just) after it in the Move List. The easiest one I've found so far is Mitsurugi's Triple Steel, because at least there's some indication of the proper timing. You need to press the horizontal and vertical attack buttons at the same time, then press the vertical attack button again just as the second strike hits. Floor 32 Item: Vane Mask [@U] OR 4000 gold Hint: "Apprehend the yielding enemy." Acquisition Condition: Performed a low throw.[@U] Suggestions: [@U] DigiLuigi informed me that a low throw is a throw that only works against a crouching opponent. He recommended using Astaroth, who has four low throws. He also mentioned that Cassandra, Xianghua, and Rock have low throws as well. The throws that will fulfill this condition say "Against crouching opponent" by them in the Move List. I used Cassandra's Seraphim Cyclone, because I found it easiest to get past the first two floors with her. Floor 33 Item: Battle dress Hint: "Unleash attacks that strike and seize." Acquisition Condition: Performed 3 attack throws. Suggestions: I used Siegfried's Thrust Throw. As previously stated, if you use someone else and you need to check which moves are attack throws, go into the Move List and look for ones that say AT in an orange circle. Floor 34 Item: 4000 gold Hint: "A true warrior does not seek protection; repel the blade." Acquisition Condition: Performed 3 or more Guard Impacts. Suggestions: Make a character with Auto Impact A, and just keep guarding. You should get the treasure pretty quick. Nifty, isn't it? Floor 35 Item: Warthog pauldrons Hint: "Do not seek protection, hide, or escape." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without switching characters. Suggestions: You always start out in battle as the first of the characters you selected for your team, so, pick your favored character first. While you're on floor 34, switch that one out for most of the battle. Try to keep him/her at full health for floor 35, because you can't switch here without failing the treasure condition. [@U] Duck of Doom noted that if one character dies and another takes their place, it doesn't count as switching. So you should still be able to use both characters if needed. Floor 36 Item: 4500 gold Hint: "The victor emerges at the final moment." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with time remaining at 0. Suggestions: This is a pain, like all the other "victor emerges at the final moment" battles. And, like those, there's nothing you can do about it, at least not that I've found so far. Just get the opponent's health low, wait for the time to tick down, and attack when it's at 1 or 0 depending on the speed of the attack you're planning to use. Be prepared to fail this, a lot. Be prepared to be REALLY REALLY CLOSE, like with one second left instead of zero. It happened to me a lot of times, and it's exceedingly frustrating. Good luck. Floor 37 Item: Siren's Helm [@U] Hint: "Use your ultimate attack without reservation." Acquisition Condition: Defeated all enemies with Critical Finish. Suggestions: Yun-Seong! It's your turn again! Ha. Anyway, remember. Yun-Seong, Avenging Claws, over and over, this is an easy way to get a critical attack fast. And fast is necessary--you've got very limited time to do this in. (Same goes for all battles in this set.) But even with Yun-Seong, this is still very hard. Floor 38 Item: 4500 gold Hint: "Lure them all into the abyss." Acquisition Condition: Defeated all enemies by Ring-out Suggestions: At first glance, this doesn't seem so bad, does it? Ring Outs? Well, think again. First there's the time limit, which is a big problem. Second, there's the fact that ALL of the opponents in this battle have the Nullify Ring Out A skill. Unbelievable, isn't it? This means that it's very very hard to Ring Out these guys. You've got to try again and again--with the time ticking away all the while. Combine that with the fact that most of them have auto grapple break as well, and you've got a heck of a tough condition to meet. Siegfried to the rescue! Flap Jack and Over Toss are very helpful for this condition. Stand near the edge of the ring and just keep using them, Flap Jack if the enemy is on the side near the edge of the ring, Over Toss if you're the one near the edge. Good luck. Floor 39 Item: 4500 gold Hint: "Do not give up the place you stand." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without changing position. Suggestions: This condition is a little confusing. What exactly does "changing position" mean? Well, basically, it means you have to leave the analog stick alone. Other than that, you can pretty much do any attacks you want, even if they seem to make you change position pretty drastically. I'd recommend, though, that you avoid using attacks that require you to move the analog stick, because if you mess up a little and it moves you instead of doing the attack you're looking for, then you'll have to start again. Floor 40 Item: Deer Head [@U] Hint: "Master the ceaseless dance." Acquisition Condition: Executed a 5+ Combo [@U] Suggestions: [@U] Ushinotane suggested using Amy's back-BK attack, Stocatta Rampage Crescendo, for the earlier floor with this same acquisition condition. It would probably work just as well for this floor but I haven't done it myself yet. Floor 41 Item: Minotaur [@U] Hint: "Rely on impeccable timing for victory." Acquisition Condition: Performed 5 or more Just Inputs. [@U] Suggestions: Once again, you need Just Inputs. And once again, it's a pain! Mitsurugi's Triple Steel is worth a try. Press the horizontal and vertical attack buttons at the same time, then the vertical attack button just as the second slash hits. Floor 42 Item: 5000 gold Hint: "Suppress your opponent's abilities." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without letting opponents invoke a skill. Suggestions: I think that Zasalamel is the only one of the three who has an invokable skill, namely HP Burst. You need to get rid of him before he uses it. You could try for a ring out, but he has Nullify Ring Out A, so you'd have to get lucky for this to work. Siegfried, using Flap Jack and Over Toss might have a chance. Or Raphael's Unending Stings, near an edge. The problem is that he seems to grapple break a lot, even though he doesn't have that as a skill. Anyway, just try to keep attacking so he won't get a chance to use his HP burst. Floor 43 Item: 5000 gold Hint: "Seize from the enemy's blind spot." Acquisition Condition: Performed a back throw. Suggestions: You could try using Ivy's "Embrace of Guilt" or "Embrace of Lust" attacks. (They're practically the same thing, except one is with the sword coiled and one is with the sword as a sword.) These attacks, when they hit, turn the opponent away from you. Combine that with a throw, and you've got a good chance to fulfill this condition. Floor 44 Item: War Cloak [@U] Hint: "Only weak fools perish in the darkness." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with no Ring Out from either parties. Suggestion: Remember this? From way, way back on floor 2? Well, anyway. Stay away from edges, and maybe make a customized person with Nullify Ring Out A. Other than that, it's up to you. Floor 45 Item: 5000 gold Hint: "Earn victory with only your raw strength." Acquisition Condition: "Defeated enemies without equipping any skills." Suggestions: To fulfill the condition you'll need to customize a character without any skills. The enemies on floors 45 and 46 seem to take very little damage, making it difficult to defeat them within the time Limit. There are two things that I've that found work fairly well. One is to take Siegfried and use his crouching throws, Flap Jack and Over Toss. They seem to hit for a fair amount of damage, and the opponents' Nullify Grapple Break skills won't work against them. Another thing you could try is to take Yun-seong and go for a Critical Finish by using his Avenging Claws attack over and over. You should probably customize them with as much HP as possible, too. Floor 46 Item: 6000 gold Hint: "Earn victory with only your raw strength." Acquisition Condition: "Defeated enemies without equipping any skills." Suggestions: See the suggestions for floor 45. Floor 47 Item: 6000 gold Hint: "Apprehend with your hands multiple times." Acquisition Condition: Threw five times. Suggestions: Like the other throw conditions, this isn't too hard, although it's a little trickier this time since the opponents in this battle have the "Invisible" skill. You can still throw them just the same, though. Walk forward until you bump into something, and grab. Floor 48 Item: 6000 gold Hint: "Fight while unseen." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with a character equipped with the skill "Invisible." Suggestions: This one is pretty simple. You might not even have to use the invisibility, it sounds like. You should probably have it equipped to both your people so you don't have to worry about which one you win with. And maybe use it, just to make sure, because I haven't actually tested the theory that you don't need to actually use it. Floor 49 Item: Horns of Calamity [@U] Hint: "Strike with precision" Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without missing any attacks. [@U] Suggestions: I haven't actually done this yet myself, so I don't have any suggestions yet. You could look at Ushinotane's suggestion for floor 7, the acquisition conditions are the same so maybe it would work for this floor as well. Floor 50 Item: Tiger Lily Breastplates [@U] Hint: "Master the never-ending Dance" Acquisition Condition: Executed a 10+ Combo [@U] Suggestions: [@U] Chaos ZX suggested using Amy's Dread Coffin~Stocatta Rampage Crescendo attack for the 10+ combo. (You can look it up in the Move List.) You've got to be walking back and press the vertical attack button, have it hit an attacking opponent, and then press the vertical attack button again. Another option, suggested by TheKench, is to use Amy's Falling Prayer and then Stocatta Rampage Crescendo, (forward B-K, back B-K, B.) Either one works well, so choose the one that's easiest for you. Floor 51 Item: 7650 gold Hint: "Interrupt your opponents attacks with your own." Acquisition Condition: "Performed 4 or more Counter hits." Suggestions: Just do the usual, I'd say. Try to hit them when they're attacking for Counter Hits, maybe get yourself the Auto Counter A skill. Floor 52 Item: Feathered Wings [@U] Hint: "Hand down Judgement with one swing." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage with a critical finish. Suggestions: The easiest way I know to get a critical finish is with Yun-Seong, using his Avenging Claws attack repeatedly. Remember, you have to get a Critical Finish on the last opponent in order to fulfill the condition. Floor 53 Item: 7650 gold Hint: "Lure them all into the abyss." Acquisition Condition: Defeated all enemies by ring out. Suggestions: Raphael's Unending Stings, Siegfried's Thrust Throw, Over Toss, and Flap Jack--all of these are good for Ring Outs. Floor 54 Item: Leviathan Pauldrons Hint: Do not let the walls contain your rage. Acquisition Condition: Destroyed all the walls within the stage. Suggestions: An easy way to do this is to take Siegfried, stand with your back to the wall you want to break, and use Thrust Throw. If you manage to hit your opponent with it, Siegfried will then smash them into the wall behind you, breaking it. Floor 55 Item: 7650 gold Hint: "Unleash attacks that strike and seize." Acquisition Condition: "Performed 3 attack throws" Suggestions: At the risk of sounding extremely repetitive, Siegfried's Thrust Throw, Flap Jack, and Over Toss are all attack throws. If you want to use someone else, and don't know which of their attacks are attack throws, look in the Move List for attacks marked with an AT in an orange circle. Floor 56 Item: Leviathan Burgonet [@U] Hint: "Surpass the limit of power with one attempt." Acquisition Condition: Performed a combo with a total damage over 240[@U] Suggestions: xxGroomexx suggested using Astaroth's attack Discus Breaker. You should probably customize Astaroth with as much attack as possible to make sure you do enough damage to fulfill the condition. Floor 57 Item: Voodoo Armlets Hint: "Give in to the abyss." Acquisition Condition: Voluntarily performed a ring out. Suggestions: Walk to the edge of the stage, and jump out. Make sure the person you're using for this doesn't have a Nullify Ring Out Skill. Also, remember that if one of your opponents hits you while you're jumping out, it won't count as "Voluntarily" performing a Ring Out. Floor 58 Item: 10000 gold Hint: "Earn Victory with only your raw strength." Acquisition Condition: Defeated enemies without equipping any skills. Suggestions: You'll have to customize a character without skills. While you're at it, get them as much HP as possible--this battle is HARD. Even surviving it WITH skills is tough, without them it's a nightmare. I used a team of Raphael and Siegfried, but you should probably choose whoever you're most skilled with for this battle. Floor 59 Item: Voodoo Greaves [@U] Hint: "The best offense is a good defense." Acquisition Condition: Guarded the opponent's attack 10 times in a row.[@U] Suggestions: I haven't fulfilled this condition on this floor, so I don't have any suggestions yet. I recommend, however, that you don't worry about getting the treasure until you've won this set of floors. . .if you get to floor 59 with a good chance to win, you shouldn't waste it. Just win, and go back for the treasure later. Floor 60 Item: Voodoo Breastplate Hint: "Do not escape, hide, or seek protection." Acquisition Condition: Cleared the stage without switching characters. Suggestions: This is the final floor of the tower, and the final boss, who is a very tough one to beat. First of all, he has the skill Nullify Ring Out S, making it impossible to just throw him out of the ring. Then, he has the skill HP Drain S, which means that every time he successfully hits you, he gets about the same amount of HP that you lose. You have three people on your team, but I believe you can only use one if you want to fulfill the condition. [@U] Duck of Doom noted that if one character dies and another takes their place, it doesn't count as switching characters; so you may be able to use all three characters that way and still get the treasure chest. But what if you're tired of playing fair? You just ran the gauntlet on 57-59 after all... So what do you do? Well, remember when I mentioned earlier on that some of my suggestions might be considered cheaty? Well, there's no doubt about it, this next suggestion IS cheating. But if you made it through the nightmare that was floors 57 through 59, chances are you're sick of the tower by now. Maybe you just want to get the treasure and be done with it? (If you made it past floor 59, you deserve it, my friend.) So. . . here's what to do. Customize a character with a lot of HP. Walk near the edge of the ring, and let the boss knock you down. Stay there, positioning yourself between him and the edge. Then just let him attack. He will very, very likely Ring himself Out as he attacks. I've had this work eight times out of ten tries. For some reason, his Nullify Ring Out skill doesn't seem to help him if he causes it himself. This may seem low--literally-- but remember, you can always go back and beat him the right way later if you want to. Congratulations on completing the Tower of Lost Minds--uh, I mean the Tower of Lost Souls! DESCENDING Suggestions: I'd suggest using two Raphaels, customized with as much HP as possible, and the skill HP Drain (A if possible.) Use his throw, Unending Stings, a lot--it's awesome for Ring Outs. Item: Dark Knights Cape Acquisition Condition: Cleared up to 5f. Item: Blade Ring: Raging Thunder Acquisition Condition: "Cleared up to 10f. Item: Lapin Chapeau OR 3000 gold Acquisition Condition: Cleared up to 15f. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Unlockable Characters XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX This section is about the characters that you can unlock. Some of them are there to start with and need to be purchased with gold. Others have to be fought in story mode (or in one case Arcade mode) to unlock them. There are quite a few unlockable characters, most of which show up in the character selection screen in the black space marked with a star. There's also Algol, and The Apprentice, who are regular characters with their own portraits in the Screen. I believe I know how to unlock all of them now. Remember, though, that I don't yet know every possible way to unlock each of them. This is simply list |
