I am playing popolocrois and I am in the last book. Now I need Gilbert but I can not find him because I can not find the Ocarina. So please let me know what to do so I can play further.

Click triangle, go on the 'Items' menu, then scroll across to the 'Special Items...

Click triangle, go on the 'Items' menu, then scroll across to the 'Special Items' list. The Ocarina should be on the top, you can only use it if you're outside though.
