 The transmitter is a little hard to spot but its near the plane in South River Jungle, and the actual radio is Airplane Jungle once you have both parts it will tell you to repair "transmitter" then you can send an sos

 You have to befriend them then ask "special" ask them to join your tribe...then hold down Left trigger and press the right arrow.

 I had a piece come from a monkey, I found some parts in bottles, so its a process I guess.

 you enjoy the palace by having your sim happy, all of my sims were there, and the sim I had, had all motives up. and was chatting to a monkey when it popped up that I had met the goal. But probably just being happy will suffice.
