Please put "Boom blox FAQ" somewhere in the email topic (the start), so I don’t mistake you for some weirdo, and delete your email without looking. ------------- Introduction ------------- So this is my FAQ on Boom Blox, which I did because I have too much time on my hands, and need to start doing something productive. That and I feel bad for using GFAQ’s for all these years without making one myself, and I hoped Boom Blox would be a good game to do a FAQ on. My first FAQ might as well be a full one. Anyway, I’m hoping to just make this as sort of a help guide, in that it tells you pretty much how to do all the puzzles in this game, and have some tips on the multiplayer stuff too. I just hope someone finds it useful. ------------------ Table of Contents ------------------ If you want to go straight to any certain section of this FAQ, use the ctrl + f thing and enter in the little set of letters to the right after that section. For instance, if you wanted to go to Expert Challenges, enter in ExC. If any of these aren't working out, please email me to let me know. Make sure you check the match case box, and you may have to switch whether it's looking up or down a bit to get to the right area, but it should all work out for you. 1.0 Version history - VH 2.0 Controls/Basic hints and such, getting started - CBGS 2.1 The Blox, and what they do - TBa 2.2 The Characters - TC 3.0 Play - PY 3.1 Training - TR 3.2 Explore - EM 3.21 Gem blox - GB 3.22 Point blox - PB 3.23 Bomb blox - BB 3.24 Vanish blox - VB 3.25 Chemical blox - CB 3.26 Grab tool - GT 3.3 Adventure - AM 3.31 Gem Kingdom - GK 3.32 Gorilda Rescue - GR 3.33 Boots n' Bandits - BnB 3.34 Haunted Night - HN 3.4 Explore Challenge - EC 3.41 Expert Challenges - ExC 3.42 Master Challenges - MC 3.5 Adventure Challenge - CA 3.51 Medieval! - CAM 3.52 Tiki! - CAT 3.53 Western! - CAW 3.54 Haunted - CAH 4.0 Party - PTY 4.1 Competitive - PVP 4.11 Throw - PvPT 4.12 Blast - PvPB 4.13 Grab - PvPG 4.14 Attack - PvPA 4.2 Cooperative - P+P 4.21 Frontier Co-op - FCp 4.22 Medieval Co-op - MCp 4.23 Tiki Co-op - TCp 4.24 Haunted Co-op - HCp 5.0 Create - CRT 6.0 Unlockables - UNLCK 7.0 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) - QA 8.0 Legal stuff - LS 9.0 Credits/Thanks - CRDT To go to a certain section, use crtl + f to find the abbreviation. Now just adventure challenge, and competitive, and I'm done. Sort of. Still need to work out some strategies for gold, format, check for grammar... if I ever can finish this thing. 7-12-08 0.80 Finished all of the one player stuff, now I just need to get through all the competitive part levels. 8-7-08 1.00 Finally finished everything. Now I just need to read through and edit this, fine tune a bunch of strategies, do this, do that... I feel like making a FAQ is a never ending project. But I am done with version 1.0! 9-3-08 1.20 Hey, I actually am still working on this thing! I added in a few more explanatory parts, and a create mode part. Hopefully this will help people figure out how the game work better too. I also updated a few levels strategies, and hope to get more done soon. --------- Controls - CBGS --------- The controls for this game are very basic, but I’ll do my best to cover them all. A button : used for selecting and item to place, copy, or erase B button : go back a screen in menu B button : hold down and point to move camera when solving puzzles Control Pad : Used for rotating items 1 button/2 button : Used for raising/lowering the camera Control stick on nunchuk : Used for moving the camera around C button/Z button nunchuk : Used for zooming in and out with the camera Grab/Throw a blox : Point the Wii mote at it and hold down A Throw : While holding down A, swing the Wii mote forward and release A. Push/Pull : Grab a blox by holding A, then move the Wii mote to move the blox in any direction. Move camera : Hold B and move Wii mote, or use the control stick on the nunchuk --------------- Tips n’ Tricks --------------- These are just some things that may be basic, but still help out. - When throwing, try to just flick your wrist to get a power throw so you don’t wear out your arm - When pushing/pulling blox, try pulling them out sideways and then getting rid of them. DO NOT hit the pile of blox with a blox you have pulled out. (Thanks to skullgon for helping me figure this out) - On a push/pull mission, if part or all of a blox stack is falling, just try to grab each of the falling blocks by tapping A on it, and then going for another blox. This can be the difference between getting a medal and failing a puzzle sometimes. - Gravity effects your throws too-when throwing big items (bombs and bowling balls), they start to curve down after awhile, so aim a bit higher for those longer shots. - The skeletons move slower than the grim reaper guys (for the mitten kitten missions), but they attack the blox faster and tear through them more quickly. - If you are having trouble with keeping the ghosts at bay with only a baseball, just throw as many baseballs as fast as you can. If anyone else has any more tips, or I come up with some more, I’ll add them in. ----------------------- Playing the first time ----------------------- The first time you play, just select a profile, enter in a name for it, and chose the blox you want to represent you. The blox doesn’t effect your profile at all (I think), so just pick whatever one you like. They I recommend you start with training to learn the basics, and then you can do what you feel like. ------------ The Blox- TB ------------ Here I'm just going to cover every blox and in the game, explain what they do, what they look like, and add in what to use them for or something else about them. Normal Blox - This looks like a regular, brown, wooden block. They don't do anything special, and come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Usually these guys are there as parts of the structure, but aren't really anything special. You don't need to worry about these much. Immovable/Immobile blox - These things look like regular blox, they're just a little greyer. They can float in the air, and nothing (and I mean NOTHING) can make them move. Even gravity is powerless against these mighty blox. These blox really are there purely to give other blox support. Usually your knocking blox off of these. They are good for supports in create mode. Gem Blox - These blox look like a big blue piece of glass to me, but they are apparently gems of some sort. Usually your trying to get all of these blox to fall to the ground. Instead of focusing on hitting each one off, try taking out the supports for whatever is holding them up to get them all to topple. Point Blox - These yellow blox earn you whatever point amount is on each side of them. Your usually trying to knock these off, sometimes into a multiplier. Like the gem blox, you usually want to take out whatever is supporting these things to get a lot to fall at once. Minus Point Blox - These greyish blox take away whatever point amount they have on their side. Try to avoid hitting these things, or whatever is holding them up so that they don't fall to the ground and cost you some points. Bomb Blox - A red blox with a picture of a bomb with its fuse lit on each side. These go off if hit with a thrown object or another explosion sets it off. I believe that all size bomb blox have the same blast range away from their point, but larger ones have a larger effect, but still effect the same range away from where they are. Not sure though, it's mostly theory. These guys are great for getting things to either fall, or make a lot of blox scatter. Chemical Blox - These green blox don't do much until they connect with a fellow chem blox. Then they pretty much act as bomb blox that have been set off. You can only get chem blox to explode if they connect with another chem blox, and that works for only one pair. So you cannot get three chem blox to all blow each other up. Vanish Blox - These purple swirly blox dissapear when hit or and explosion would hit them. They usually cause chain reactions of a sort when they vanish, so make them dissapear. Multi-Hit Vanish Blox - These grey, concrete looking blox take three hits (whether it be from undead, bombs, or baseballs) to dissapear. No more, no less. These are usually used to try and hold off the undead. If your trying to knock things off of them, try to make them fall before they dissapear, unless you have lots of explosives handy. Fragile Blox - You don't see these blox much. A little doesn't do much to them, but hit them hard enough and they will break. I see these so rarely, I would say treat them like a multi-hit vanish blox. Cloud Blox - These white, sort of transparent blox will float up unless you weigh them down with something. Usually you can move some blox on top of them to keep them grounded. They don't show up often, and usually you can just focus on a few you must keep down. Ice Blox - These light blue blox let things slip and slide around a lot more. Anything the would slide a bit now slides a lot. I would say be careful around these blox. Move the blox you want to move far with hard throws, and those you want to stay still better not get any momentum, or they'll go far. Firework Blox - These blox have a picture of a firework on the side, and thats what they are. If you have an explosion set them off, they will go whichever way the firework points. These usually are there to be set off for some reason, so start blowing up anything and everything near them. Jingle Blox - These blox emit a note when hit, depending on their color. I don't think you ever encounter them outside of create levels, but go ahead and let your inner musician use them to make a level with its own tune to it. Vanish Point blox - These light purple blox will earn you points when hit, and vanish. Usually you just go right for these blox, and you'll be fine. Minus Vanish Point Blox - These dark purple blox will make you lost whatever point value they are assigned when hit If I forgot/missed any blox, please let me know! Anyway, time for... -------------- The Characters - TC -------------- In this section I will describe each characters appearance and what it does. Sherman Woolington III - A sheep that doesn't really do anything. Usually just there for decoration for whatever reason. Pretty useless. Duke of Woolington - An armored sheep that marches towards any Babadoos, which I'm pretty sure they can't do anything too. If your dealing with these guys, your probably trying to save them from certain doom. Bruiser Browning - A bear. He tries to take gem blox, then walk off with them and burn them. If you want to take care of them, just hit them with some thrown object and they'll be gone. Lord Browning - An armored bear that also tries to take any and all gem blox to the nearest fire to burn them. Beside the fact he has armour, he doesn't seem any different than the regular Brownings. Get rid of him with some thrown objects or explosions. Zero Bandito - A masked little... raccoon? I'm not entirely sure what these guys are. Anyway, they move fast and also try to grab gem blox and burn them. Take out these guys first, since they are much more dangerous than a few of the browning bears. Sir Babadoo - This armoured monkey will take out any sheep by throwing bowling balls at them. Save the hopeless sheep by hitting these guys with an explosion or some weapon you have handy. Gorilda Gert - This ape looking character will walk towards the baby gerts to try and get to them. However, it will walk straight towards the babies, often killing itself unless you save it. Baby Gert - A baby ape in a diaper. Just sits there waiting for mommy to come. Doesn't do anything past that. Mooga - A masked dancing tiki thing that if it gets too close to a gorilda, makes it vanish. They can be taken care of with the usual throw or explosion. Booga - A masked dancing tiki that only dances. Poses no threat, just there for decoration. Ooga - A maskless tiki guy. Dances around while waving. Again, a harmless piece of scenery. Betsy Moo - A cow. Just stands there mooing, not doing anything. Usually you have to protect these cows from the babadoos. They just stand there, mooing. Baby Moos - Another cow that is now smaller and in a diaper. They are equally useless, just sitting there doing absolutely nothing of any consequence. Boots Beaverton - A mustachioed beaver in a cowboy hat that enjoys blowing up bomb blox. He can be useful for setting up chain reactions. Doc Babadoo - This mustachioed monkey in a cowboy hat just throws baseballs at everyone (usually cows). They usually spawn on little white blow with a star on them, which if taken care of, takes care of the monkey supply. They are like every other character--a throw or explosion takes care of them. Mitten Kittens - These little cats will (slowly) wander towards the nearest pumpkin blox or gem blox. Your usually trying to protect these helpless little kittens, so try and take out any of their enemies. Buster Maguff - This dog will stand in one place throwing baseballs at any undead creatures. Try to just make sure he doesn't get hurt and let him do his thing, since he can make your life a lot easier. Skully McGill - This skeleton will walk towards and try to eat any kittens, and I think babies too. A hit from anything will make him vanish. Walls will slow him down, but he tears through them quickly. Gurgless Grimm - This grim reaper type character will walk towards and destroy any kittens or (I think) babies. A hit takes him out, and walls slow him down more since he takes longer to whack at them. Dante Babadoo - This monkey in a stereotypical demon outfit will throw chem blox at other chem blox to blow things up, or at any innocent bystanders. Try to take care of him quickly, or you'll have some big problems. Biff O' Wiggins - This bear looking guy will throw bomb blox at any nearby blox. He can cause some damage if you set things up right. Buckley Beaverton - A beaver that can set off both bomb blox and chem blox. Pretty much a non-western version of boots beaverton. How he sets off chem blox remains a mystery. Dirk Tufftooth - Throws baseballs at everyone. Just an angry bulldog I guess. You can take him out with throws or explosion, just like everyone else. Cody P. Schmee - A koala that stands around looking at things. Doesn't do much. Part of the scenery I guess. Wrinkles Peasley - An old dog that wanders around the level, slowly. Just part of the scenery again. Liberty Poppins - A penguin that lays ice blox instead of eggs. Maybe you can use those for something... whatever it is, I don't know! Pendleton Puff - I think this guyu looks like a panda. Anyway, these things lay cloud blox that will float up for awhile. Maybe you could have the cloud blox push things into place for you. Marion McCluck - A chicken that lays bomb blox. If you set off any of those bombs, you'll likely lose this chicken, but hey, you get to blow things up! Stinkerton Potts - A skunk that lays chem blox. If you want to keep using these chem blox, I suggest you blow them up well away from Mr. Stinker here, or you'll cut off your supply. ---- Play - PY ---- --------- Training - TR --------- Training is just what it sounds like learning how to play the game. The missions are all very simple, so this should be a quick section. Since I’m pretty sure you have to get gold medals on every training mission, I will not have any medal requirements here. Throw ‘Em You get to learn the common action of throwing things. Its pretty simple. Try to practice getting power throws, and just aim your cursor at the gem blox. I recommend aiming towards at the bottom of the towers, since good hits there make more gem blox fall. The game measures the Wii-mote speed when you release A to determine the speed of the throw (I think), so try just flicking your wrist so you don’t wear out your arm. See ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on Throw ‘Em Another simple one. Just hold b, and point with the Wiimote to indicate the direction you want to turn things. You can go up down and around. Once you look around, hit the point blox off their stands and your done. Blast ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on See ‘Em Again, piece of cake. Aim for one of the bomb blox, and throw. I recommend the big bomb blox, since its easy to hit. Setting off the reaction (hitting a bomb blox) will finish this stage, no problem. Pop ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on Blast ‘Em Another easy one. Just throw a ball at and hit the huge vanish blox and it will vanish, and you finish the stage. Match ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on Pop ‘Em This one is pretty simple. Just hit the small chemical blox into the big one. As long as you don’t hit the small chem. blox really low, it should hit the big one, and the rest will take care of itself. Wreck ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on Match ‘Em This is a little different now you grab a blox of your choice, and swing it around to knock the others. Just grab whatever you like and shake it around. Personally, I’m no too good at controlling where the things go when I grab them, so just go crazy. If you want, just drop the blox you have, pick up a new one, and start wrecking again. This stage should be easy, just clear everything away. Pull ‘Em Unlocked by: Get a medal on Wreck ‘Em This skill is probably the one that needs steady hands the most (I personally sort of fail at it). You select a block, and carefully pull it out by pulling the Wiimote back. Personally, I stink at this, but just pull the blox out. If if the minus point ones hit the ground, you have to get a gold medal, so it doesn’t really matter if you do bad or not. For completing Pull ‘Em, and training mode as a whole, you unlock being able to use Medieval forest in create mode. -------- Explore - EM Unlocked by: Completing training -------- Well this mode isn’t too bad, though some of the puzzles can be a bit frustrating at times, since it takes pinpoint precision to get them, I hope this helps get a gold medal on all of them (if anyone has any alternative strategies to a level they think are much better, email me (I don’t check it a ton, but I’ll try to every week or so). If I think your hint is valid (not just the same thing differently worded), I’ll put it in here and give you the credit you have earned. --------- Gem blox - GB --------- As a note, the * by a medal indicates what medal the strategy I have should get you. If anyone has a strategy to get a medal higher than the one I have posted, please email me and let me know. Warrior Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw This one isn’t too bad. If ever in doubt, aim low (In this game at least). For this one, take out the warriors waist (where the two legs join, in between the sword and shield). It should work pretty well no matter how you hit it (As long as you can get a strong throw if you can’t practice, since that’s very essential to this game.) If taking out the waist doesn’t work, try taking the waist out from behind, which works very well. Just give the thing some time to collapse never hit some blox you want to collapse if they’re moving. Teeter Totter Unlocked by: Get a medal on Warrior Bronze: 5 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Rotate around so your looking right at the big blox (as close to it as you can get), and hit it in near the middle, and it should fall on the wood blox, tilt it down, and cause all the other gem blox to fall down. This may take a try or two to get in one throw, since the big blox can not fall right, and not have all the gem blox fall down. Golfer Unlocked by: Get a medal on Teeter Totter Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Rotate the camera so your looking straight at the bigger gem blox, and have obscured the tower of smaller gem blox, and nail the big gem blox in the middle. This should knock off all the blox in one shot, they lining up the shot may be a bit tricky at first. Tower Unlocked by: Get a medal on Golfer Bronze: 6 throws Silver: 3 throws *Gold: 1 throw For this one, rotate the camera so your looking at one of the towers at the end of the group so the the second to last level blox are straight back away from you (they should look like their just a square, and don’t extend back.). Then throw a baseball right at the blox second from the bottom on the side facing the other blox towers. This should cause all four to fall like dominoes. Boulder Unlocked by: Get a medal on Tower Bronze: 5 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw For this stage, turn the camera so your looking at the two low and diagonally. Sort of behind the box of a lot of small gem blox, but not quites. Then aim for the small square blox underneath the long plank ones that are like a teeter totter. Try to line up the shot so when you hit the square blox, it will take out its partner on the other setup. If you successfully take out both of those, the structures should both collapse. This shot can be tricky to get right, and it may take a few tries to get gold for this puzzle. For completing Boulder, you unlock the bowling ball, which can can use in create mode now. Stronger Unlocked by: Get a medal on Boulder Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw An easy one. Just nail the block of gem blox low and towards the middle of one side, and it should knock them all off. This one may not work your first try, since the physics of this game are different by just a bit nearly every time. Bowler Unlocked by: Get a medal on Stronger Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Rather than throw right away, rotate the camera around so that one of the planks on the side is level to the top of the immovable blox/bottom on the pins. The nail the plank right about where the second to last row of pins comes down, and it should knock out all the pins for you. House of gems Unlocked by: Get a medal on Bowler Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw I can’t find a specific blox that if removed makes this whole things topple, but I recommend aiming low and taking out the base parts. I usually make it so two parts of the base make a V towards me, and aim for the middle of the V. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This is one level where luck helps when going for a gold medal. I didn't come up with this one, it was SithCommando, and it pretty much guarantees you a gold medal. Now, you see that big gem blox on top? Just below it is a blox that is longer on one side so it looks like a square, but then it looks like a rectangle on the other side. Rotate the camera so your level with this blox, and looking straight at one of the square, bigger sides. Hit it near the middle as hard as you can, and you should get gold. Stained Glass Unlocked by: Get a medal on House of gems Bronze: 4 throws Silver: 3 throws *Gold: 2 throws On your first throw, aim for one of the bottom corners of the big gem blox. Then use your second throw to nail the opposite corner (or if the big gem blox is gone, aim for where the opposite corner would be at the start of the level), which should cause all five blox to fall out. FinE Art Unlocked by: Get a medal on Stained Glass Bronze: 4 throws Silver: 3 throws *Gold: 1 throw Just hit either end of the long bottom plank, and the whole thing should come crashing down. For completing the level FinE Art, you unlock being able to use the Cloud Blox in create mode. ----------- Point blox - PB ----------- Remember, a * means that’s the medal the strategy should get you. Edgy Bronze: 60 points Silver: 80 points *Gold: 100 points Line up your shots at a point block so your looking right at it, then aim for the number in its middle and throw. You’ll pretty much need strong throws to have a hope in this section. Just take out all the point blox on the side first (I do top to bottom), then take out the two on the higher level. In a Pinch Unlocked by: Get a medal in Edgy Bronze: 40 points Silver: 60 points *Gold: 70 points Start by diagonally lining up a shot at the blox on top, and hitting them off. Then look at the long straight point blox on the side diagonally (from the middle) and aim for the point numbers on their short sides this should knock them and the blox below them off. If the blox below hang around, then hit them diagonally too. For the last one, look straight at the long wooden blox its on, hit that, and the last point blox should tumble down. Prison Break Unlocked by: Get a medal in In a Pinch Bronze: 10 points Silver: 30 points *Gold: 40 points Look through one of the openings opposite the open side, and hit the blox farther out by knocking them in the middle, top one first. Then do the same thing for the pair of blox farther from the opening. Precision is key here, so you don’t accidentally knock down one of the minus point pillars. Step Down Unlocked by: Get a medal in Prison Break Bronze: 10 points Silver: 30 points *Gold: 50 points Work you way from top to bottom here. Just look straight at all the blox, aim for their number, and hit them top to bottom. When your hitting the bottom level of point blox, try and hit out the side you hit out second on the above level first, so that top minus point blox doesn’t slide off on you. Break Point Unlocked by: Get a medal in Step Down Bronze: 30 points Silver: 40 points *Gold: 50 points Start out by looking right at the top two point blox and knocking them out. Then do the same for the point blox on the bottom. Once things are stable again, hit out the two point blox left, looking right at them, one at a time. Make sure your shots won’t knock them into the minus blox, and accidentally knock it off. Plumber Unlocked by: Get a medal in Break Point *Bronze: 150 points Silver: 160 points Gold: 170 points This ones a doozy. I don’t have anything step by step (maybe some day when I’m really really bored), but try to hit the point of the point blox sticking out, and avoid the minus point blox. When you have a bunch sitting at the bottom, just knock the point blox with throws from above until they are a bit on their own, and you can blast them off. After a try or two bronze shouldn’t be too hard. For completing Plumber, you unlock the laser, which you can use in create mode. Step up again Unlocked by: Get a medal in Plumber Bronze: 50 points Silver: 60 points *Gold: 70 points Work your way from top to bottom, and just aim well. Don’t take out too many blox on one side, or the minus ones will fall and make you lose points. Quick Draw Unlocked by: Get a medal in Step up again Bronze: 700 points Silver: *900 points Gold: 1,050 points Hard to give you any specifics, but just aim right at the front of the blox as they come along, or you may wind up shooting behind them. As a note, you don’t have to get every blox to get a gold. I missed a few, got 1,025, but could’ve probably gotten over 1,100 if I got the two 50’s at the end. So just go for the big point blox, and practice. Cannon Clash Unlocked by: Get a medal in Quick Draw Bronze: 1,000 points Silver: *1,200 points Gold: 1,500 points Like Quick Draw, not a lot of specifics. Aim at the front of the blox so you don’t shoot behind them. Watch for the cannons in the back to shoot out 50’s, and try to nail those. Try and hit as many blox as soon as they appear, since midair collisions can make a perfect shot not hit anything, and are just plain annoying for me. For completing the puzzle Cannon Clash, you unlock the vanish point blox, which you can use in create mode. ---------- Bomb blox - BB ---------- Remember, a * indicated the medal the strategy should get you. Minefield Bronze: 10 points Silver: 420 points *Gold: 440 points Hit one of the bomb blox towers in one of the four corners. The chain reaction should get you all the point blox except the two in the middle. Use your last throw to knock down the long, thin blox they’re on, and they should come tumbling down too. Bomb Barn Unlocked by: Get a medal in Minefield Bronze: 40 points Silver: 60 points *Gold: 100 points You can either throw while looking straight at the point blox on top, or the regular blox in the corners. If you hit either one with your first throw, you should see a (or part of) bomb blox. Nail it, and the whole thing should blow up. Bomb Push Unlocked by: Get a medal in Bomb Barn Bronze: 10 points Silver: 30 points *Gold: 70 points With your first throw, look straight at the regular blox behind the bomb blox, and hit it, pushing the bomb blox closer to the large box. Then hit the bomb blox, and the whole thing should get blown up. Bomb Cascade Unlocked by: Get a medal in Bomb Push Bronze: 230 points Silver: 250 points *Gold: 270 points Set it up so your looking at the level from the side. Then hit the little bomb blox closer to all the point blox at the bottom of the tower of bomb blox. Once you finish your throw, set up a throw a bit to the left of all the point blox. When the bomb blox’s fall, hit them in midair. If you don’t want to do that, wait until all the bomb bloxs are on the ground, and hit one, taking out the point blox’s supports. Sliding Bomb Unlocked by: Get a medal in Bomb Cascade Bronze: 150 points Silver: 180 points *Gold: 200 points Look at the whole thing from the side with the bomb blox. Hit the small bomb blox at the end of the normal blox. When the big bomb blox has slip near the middle of the remaining point blox (It will keep sliding, so be ready) nail it and blow away all the point blox. Flying Bombs Unlocked by: Get a medal in Sliding Bomb Bronze: 160 points Silver: 200 points *Gold: 210 points Look at the level so that the little bomb blox and the big tall blox are near the bottom left. Then hit the little bomb blox holding up the big regular blox. It will fall, launching the other bomb blox into the air. As soon as you hit the little bomb blox holding up the big blox, turn the camera so your looking right at the wall of point blox. Then when the cluster of bombs is near the middle of the point blox wall, throw, hit one, and you should get a gold. More Flying Bombs Unlocked by: Get a medal in Flying Bombs Bronze: 360 points Silver: 400 points *Gold: 440 points Just stick with the starting camera angle here. Hit the big bomb blox on the right. Get a shot ready in the middle of the three things of point blox. When the bomb blox fly up there, throw and hope you hit one. If you do, the explosion should take out all of the point blox. For completing More Flying Bombs, you unlock the Bomb Ball, which you can now use in create mode. Bomb Push 2 Unlocked by: Get a medal in More Flying Bombs Bronze: 80 points Silver: 160 points *Gold: 800 points Easy. Just throw a bomb at the middle of the top of one of the tall point blox while looking straight at the side. I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to do this level, but this one works. Trojan Pony Unlocked by: Get a medal in Bomb Push 2 Bronze: 20 points Silver: 90 points *Gold: 120 points Turn the camera so your looking diagonally down into the pony’s stomach, and throw your bomb. The reaction should cause the whole thing to collapse (or the parts worth points at least). This one may take a couple throws to get right. Pile it on Unlocked by: Get a medal in Trojan Pony Bronze: 100 points Silver: 360 points *Gold: 370 points Line it up so your looking right at the part below the huge point blox, with a bunch of little blox’s keeping the long ones up. Then throw a bomb in the middle of the four little parts, aiming in the middle, at the top of the upper pair of blox (the bomb will fall down). Then when the bomb is in the middle of the tower, make it explode with A. It may take a couple tries to get the timing down. Weak Wall Unlocked by: Get a medal in Pile it on Bronze: 280 Points Silver: 290 points *Gold: 300 points. Look at the wall from above (a birds eye view) and hit the big bomb blox in the middle, where the two walls meet. If you hit it, you should get all the points. For completing Weak Wall, you unlock the use of the Fireworks Blox in create mode. ------------ Vanish Blox - VB ------------ Haunted Skyscraper Bronze: 75 points Silver: 150 points *Gold: 280 points Just hit that big purple vanish blox, and all the point blox should come tumbling out for you. Wedged in Unlocked by: Get a medal in Haunted Skyscraper Bronze: 20 points Silver: 40 points *Gold: 90 points Line it up so your looking at the stack in the middle. Then aim for the seam between the long thin vanish blox and one square one next to it. Then do the same on the other side. If you manage to make two vanish blox appear with either throw, the whole thing should fall down. Falling bomb Unlocked by: Get a medal in Wedged in Bronze: 300 points Silver: 450 points *Gold: 600 points Look at the puzzle from the side. Then take out the vanish blox at the base of the blox tower with the bomb on top. Then set up a shot near the big point blox box, and let a throw loose when the bomb blox is getting close. Your going to have to anticipate where the bomb blox will be, and this may take a try or two. Slots Unlocked by: Get a medal in Falling bomb Bronze: 600 points Silver: 800 points *Gold: 1,080 points This is an easy one. Just take out each of the purple vanish blocks holding up the bomb blox, then hit any one of the four to have them all take care of the point blox. Towering fries Unlocked by: Get a medal in Slots Bronze: 160 points Silver: 200 points *Gold: 240 points This one takes some luck. I’ve got two strategies so far. One is to look right at the blox on top of one of the two middle towers, and hitting it right on the edge of the blox, and sending those flying into the two next to it, and doing that twice. The other is to take out the second from the bottom blox on one of the side towers so it falls on the middle one, and have your throw bounce right so it takes out the other tower on the side. There are videos on youtube for this level, but if anyone finds a more consistent strategy, please let me know. For completing Towering fries, you unlock the rubber ball for use in create mode. Box car Unlocked by: Get a medal in Towering fries Bronze: 60 points Silver: 90 points *Gold: 120 points This one may take some luck too, but just look diagonally into the opening from the left or right, and aim for the same level as near the top of the vanish blox. Do that for the other side, and it should work most of the time. Upstairs Unlocked by: Get a medal in Box car Bronze: 80 points Silver: 120 points *Gold: 160 points This takes some luck too. Just look into the place diagonally and down this time, so the ball should bounce up to the upper levels. Do that aiming in each direction, and it should work out fine. Three flat Unlocked by: Get a medal in Upstairs Bronze: 80 points Silver: 120 points *Gold: 160 points This one takes luck too. To get that stack on the top floor, throw it in from the left and from above. Then for the lower level stacks, throw one in from the right off the wall right before it drops down, and it should work. For completing Three flat, you unlock the fragile blox for use in create mode. -------------- Chemical blox - CB -------------- Beakers Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Hit the vanishing blox in the middle, and the resulting explosion will take care of the rest of the level for you. Momentum Unlocked by: Get a medal in Beakers Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Look straight at the vanish blox, then hit the seam between the two. The pair should vanish, causing the explosion that lets you win. Chem towers Unlocked by: Get a medal in Momentum Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Look at the puzzle from the side, then hit the blox third from the bottom on the tall tower that’s closer to the small tower. The two should knock each other over. Green punch Unlocked by: Get a medal in Chem towers Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Look straight at the long row of gem blox with the chem. blox at one end of the row. Try to have it so you can just see over the row (look right at it). Then throw right in between the two gem blox on top of the row, and the resulting moves should set off an effective chain reaction. Chemical jug Unlocked by: Get a medal in Green punch Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1throw Look right at that lone chem. block on a stand, then make it so your looking at it as low as possible. Aim for where the two wood blox below it meet it, in the middle. If you launch it right, it should hit the big upper chem. blox, and drop two chem. blox down on the lower chem. blox. Kick stand Unlocked by: Get a medal in Chemical jug Bronze: 3 throws Silver: 2 throws *Gold: 1 throw Look right at that lone chem. blox on a stand so that you see the stack of blox holding up the big wood blox. Then hit the chem. blox so it takes out the support of the big blox, and hits the chem. blox behind that. The rest of the course should blow itself up. Reaction Unlocked by: Get a medal in Kick stand Bronze: 4 throws Silver: 3 throws *Gold: 2 throws Look right at one of the corner towers, and hit the third from the bottom chem. blox closer to the middle of the puzzle. This should take out some towers, then do the same for another corner tower (wherever there are more towers). This may not work now and then, since you rely on the physics of the game working for you. Line up Unlocked by: Get a medal in Reaction Bronze: 5 throws Silver: 4 throws *Gold: 3 throws For the first shot, use that 1x1 chem blox by the 3x3 gem blox cube, line it up so that the wood blox is near the base of the whole structure floating in the air opposite it. Make sure you hit it near the center. Then use the chem. blox on top of the tower of gem blox on the cube opposite it. Line it up so your looking right at the blox, and you can’t see the upper/lower immobile blox. Aim for the center again. For the last tower of gem blox, use the 1x1 chem blox below the cube of gem blox you just destroyed. Line it up so it is a straight line to the chem. blox under the tower as low as the camera will allow. Hit the center. If you get all these shots right, you get gold. This one may take a little practice, since precision is key. For completing Line up, you unlock the use of the fire house in create mode. Chemical rinse Unlocked by: Get a medal in Line up Bronze: 0:01seconds left Silver: 0:20 seconds left Gold: 0:26 seconds left Rotate the camera down so your looking straight at the middle of the structure, then start. Blast side to side on the main wall for a second, the go for the right tower. Try to aim for the chem. blox in the top left of the tower so it hits the chem. blox behind it to make it go faster. After that, spray the middle a bit as needed, and then do the same thing to the tower on the right. Try to do this as fast as you can, since you only have a few seconds. Hose practice Unlocked by: Get a medal in Chemical rinse Bronze: 30 points Silver: 70 points *Gold: 80 points Look straight at the blox in the middle, and squirt it near the middle with the hose. It should take out the main chem. blox in the middle, no problem. Repeat this with the chem. blox on the side, but aim for the thicker chem. blox, since those ones hold the points. Chemical golf Unlocked by: Get a medal in Hose practice Bronze: 40 points Silver: 60 points *Gold: 90 points This one’s a pain. I can’t give many specifics here. Try and line up your shots so you just have to hit the chem. blox in the middle. It’s a lot of trial and error here of getting the shots just right. Try to just do a quick spurt to fire each one, and trying the hit the chem. blox once they leave the podium is usually a waste of hose. Just use short spurts, and try to get your shots right. GodTurtle decided to help me out, and came up with some tips for how to get gold on this level. Thanks to him for coming up with this, because I doubt I ever would've figured this out. I'm going to go ahead and just call the block on the "tee" the ball. It's late and I'm having trouble finding a better word. 1. Short bursts. With the exception of situation "B" (below,) you should be barely tapping the button. With quick taps I seem to typically use 2 shots. 2. Start with the far left and right corners. If you don't clear them in the first few shots just restart. It's always best to tackle the hard parts first. 3. Those corner blocks are hardest because the line between the corner blocks and the ball lies on the ball's edge. No matter how hard you try it isn't possible to hit the ball exactly on the edge and drive it into the corner block. It will always go to the left or right. To get around this, drop the camera all the way down and hit the "ball" on the bottom where it connects with the tee . If you hit the ball it will either: A. Shift slightly on the tee. (this is preferred) B. Fly in the air. (may as well try to make something work) Depending on the situation: A. If it shifted slightly on the tee, the edge of "the ball" and the target are no longer directly in alignment. You can actually line up a shot from here. It will take a bit of skill, but if you've gotten this far you should be used to it. B. Assuming the block is flying within the range of the target, hold down "A" and try to kick it into your target. You'll burn quite a few shots here, but with how hard the corner blocks are it is worth the cost. Green gush Unlocked by: Get a medal in Chemical golf Bronze: 60 points Silver: 80 points Gold: 120 points To get a gold on this one, be looking straight at one of the towers and be low. Hose down the chem. blox, and wait for the point blox to pop up. When it does, aim for the bottom of it. Once it starts spinning, as long as your hitting it low, it should move up and through the 4x point thing. Do this three times, and your done. For completing Green gush, you unlock the use of the ice blox on create mode. ---------- Grab tool - GT ---------- Castle grab Bronze: 0:01 seconds left Silver: 0:15 seconds left Gold: 0:23 seconds left Move the camera so your looking right at a chem. blox. Start and grab it, and swing it into another chem. blox ASAP. Do this once or twice, and enough chain reactions should create themselves to make the thing fall apart. Soft pull Unlocked by: Get a medal in Castle grab Bronze: 4 points Silver: 7 points Gold: 10 points Forget about pulling soft. You can pull things out two ways IMO. You either look right at it if its out on the side and pull it out to the outside, then let it drop. Then do that for the other side so you work your way to the middle. Then for the middle ones, look at it from the side, and pull it out. Pull it out the opposite direction of whichever direction the minus block is centered (if its towards the right, pull the blox out to the left). Work this whole thing top to bottom. Once you get the hang of yanking out blox, its easier. Simple push Unlocked by: Get a medal in Soft pull Bronze: 14 points *Silver: 26 points Gold: 34 points I have yet to gold this one, but here’s my basic strategy. Start at the top for now. Pull out one corner (start with one with more than one blox), pull out the opposite corner. Then quickly pull out the other two. Repeat for each level, getting each corner down to one blox each time. Also, balance how often you make the cow’s platform tilt a certain way. If you make it left, left, left, then the cow will fall. If its left, right, left, right, then the cow will fall less often. Keep deconstructing this thing. If you pull out well and balance things out right, in theory you can get gold, though I have yet to do it. Pinching Unlocked by: Get a medal in Simple push Bronze: 40 points Silver: 50 points Gold: 70 points Grab one of the two blox on top and swing it into the other, knocking both clean off. Then, looking in diagonally, grab that point blox in the middle. Try to pull it out so that it takes out the other two point blox on one side with it. Then use your last grab to lift the supporter for the remaining pair, and bring the two crashing out. This can be tricky to do without knocking out any minus point blox. High horse Unlocked by: Get a medal in pinching *Bronze: 19 points Silver: 24 points Gold: 29 points. I haven’t done to well on this level yet, so any improved strategies are welcome. Anyway, stat by removing the four corner pillars that stand up tall and skinny in the middle, as well as the blox that fall after they’re removed. The take out the two blox on the edges of the bottom. I personally look at the from the side, and slide them out. Then start working from the top down. Take out a blox on the outside then do the opposite side, etc. However, make it so there’s only one tall pillar when you pull out all the blox above the tall pillars. Having too many in lets the minus blox fall of of this one is tricky and likely will take a LOT of practice to get a gold on. Disassemble Unlocked by: Get a medal in High horse *Bronze: 15 points Silver: 20 points Gold: 35 points Again, haven’t been too good on this level. Make it so your looking right at |
