Turn around and move around in the circular chamber. Eat the two crickets scurrying around the starting location as the game teaches you the basic commands. Follow the path into the next area, where you will find your first grub immediately to the left [1/450]. Eating grubs not only restores a small bit of your health, but devouring enough unlocks various art galleries. Since you are a spider, you have the ability to traverse along walls. Climb onto the walls to find a few more grubs [4/450]. Continue forward up towards the cacti as you see two beetles fighting. The red soldier beetle comes out on top. Try using combinations of the A Button while shaking the Wii Remote to test out some combos against the soldier beetle. You can head to Section 2 for some advanced move lists. After killing the beetle, approach the cactus on the ground and jump over it with Z. Walk up the wall in front of you and eat the two grubs along the way [6/450]. Pass by the crack in the wall and jump over another cacti to reach a small cavern. Eat the grub along the way down [7/450]. Defeat the two soldier beetles lying in wait with your basic combos. After their death, continue through the tunnel to reach an intersection. Eat the grub on the wall to the right [8/450], then take the left path. After encountering a wolf spider, confront it. It isn't too difficult, but it does jump around a lot. Gobble up the cricket and the two grubs [10/450] to refill your health, then return to the fork and head down the other path. The glowing green fireflies floating in midair is a save point, so be a good spider and save your game. Continue onward through the passage to reach the exit, where you are ambushed by a rattlesnake! .-------------------. --| BOSS: Rattlesnake |------------------------------------------------------- '-------------------' Woo, a boss already! How a lowly tarantula is supposed to take down a huge rattlesnake is beyond me. Lets see how it all plays out! The rattlesnake stays perched up on a ledge out of the tarantula's reach. Notice how its rattle is shining... that must mean its the boss's weak point. The rattlesnake will attack by striking at you. When you hear it hiss, get ready to jump to the side to avoid its fangs. After avoiding its attack a few times, the snake lets its tail dangle over the ledge. Pounce on the rattle and strike it. After hitting the rattlesnake's rattle a once, the camera will pan out to reveal the cacti behind you. As the snake gets ready to lunge forward, follow the command of the prompt the appears onscreen; the rattler will miss and collide with the spiny cacti. The boss shakes the spines off its face as the battle continues. Repeat the process a second time. The button prompts are different every time, but they usually consist of hitting Z or swining the Wii Remote left or right. The rattlesnake's attack becomes faster, so you'll have to time your jumps better. After the third and final prompt, the rattlesnake creates an opening in the cacti as you escape. Success! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save your game up ahead and follow the trail down to another cavern. You'll get a tip about Adventure Goals, but we currently don't have any yet. Eat the two crickets down here and move through the tunnel. As you snatch up the grub along the way [11/450], the ground rumbles as you can faintly here the two humans, George Struggs and Wade, conversing above you. You're given a goal as you move out into the open: track the scorpion. Eat the two grubs to your right and the one on your left [14/450], then continue along the left side of the wall to reach the floor. You'll find another grub [15/450] in a dark corner to your left. As you emerge into the open, a wolf spider and soldier beetle will attack. Try out your new Jump Strike attack on them. A pair of scarab beetles show up afterwards. You should have unlocked the Spin Attack right now, so test it out on these poor saps. Pass underneath the motorcycle wheel as you follow the path. Hop over the cactus and eat the cricket just past it. Continue around the bend, snacking on the grubs [18/450] until you come to a huge open area. The scorpion enters a downed tree at the far end. Head down towards the left side of the area. Defeat the beetles down here and approach the cactus all by itself. One side of the cactus has no spines on it, enabling you to climb onto it. Get the grub on the cactus [19/450] and the two on the adjacent wall [21/450]. Follow the wall as you move between the wall and the large plants. You will pass a piece of cracked wall; ignore it for now. There is another grub at the end of the path leaning against the tree [22/450]. Climb the wall just above the cracked section to find a well-hidden grub up here [23/450]. Backtrack to the entrance of the area and focus on the right side this time. Feed on the grub on the wall to the right of the area's entrance, then climb up the smooth rock to find another grub resting on top [25/450]. Proceed towards the tree trunk and eat the two grubs lying in front of it [27/450]. Before pursuing the scorpion, lets spend the time to fully explore this region. Turn around and walk back towards the rocks that you were on just before. Walk to the left side of the rocks to find a small nook underneath. Enter the nook to find yourself in a small tunnel underneath the rocks. Eat the grub to the right [28/450], then enter the nearby room. There is a wolf spider inside along with three grubs [31/450]. The spider is very jumpy, which is always annoying. Return outside again and walk to the right of the tree trunk. Continue down the narrow passage between the tree and the wall; there is a grub along the way [32/450] as well (to your right to be exact). As the path eventually takes you to a pit underneath the tree, defeat the wolf spider and claim the two grubs as your reward [34/450]. Now that we're finished grubbin', return to the tree and head inside. Save your game. Exit out of the side of the tree; eat the grub in front of you, then the one on the outside of the tree as you climb across to the other side [36/450]. That's the last of the grubs for this chapter! Defeat the pair of wolf spiders on the other side, then enter the second opening. You will be ambushed by a few more wolf spiders here. After defeating the first two, another pair will enter the tree to do battle. Kill them as well and exit the tree. Save up ahead and eat the leaf cricket just beyond [1/17] to increase your maximum health! Continue onward to eventually encounter the scorpion again. Fighting him is just like fighting a normal enemy, though he tends to block your attacks a lot. I found the Spin Attack to be your best option here. It knocks the scorpion down, allowing you to use other moves. After taking enough damage, your rival escapes as the chapter comes to a close. Track the Scorpion - COMPLETED ============================================================================== 3.02] CHAPTER TWO: BURIAL [0302] ============================================================================== [ ] - Find a way out of The Underground [ ] - Escape from the Gila Monster Leaf Crickets: 4 [4/24] Grubs: 33 [69/450] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now we get to see first-hand what's it's like to play as the scorpion! Just for the record, while the two creatures both share grub count, the scorpion has a separate amount of leaf crickets, which is why the display is shown as out of 24 as opposed to the tarantula's 17. Before proceeding forward, test out the scorpion's basic controls. The most noticeable change is that the scorpion can block attacks with Z instead of jumping like the tarantula. It also cannot climb on walls as well as our spider friend. When you're ready, move through the tunnel. You will get a new Adventure Goal: Find a way out of the underground. Go forward and devour the cricket, then continue down the path. A wolf spider up ahead kills an insect, then bolts. Eat the grub to the left [37/450] and chase after the spider. As you spill out into another dark, open area, some wolf spiders will attack. Use your new combos and Sting attack to do them in, then continue; don't miss out on the grub [37/450] on the right side of the room. The pesky wolf spider taunts the scorpion, then runs again. Feed on the grub along the path [38/450] and take chase. A soldier beetle and scarab beetle will attack you up ahead. You can try using one of your Finishing Move on the bugs: sting them, then press C when the button appears on the screen. Next, follow the commands to perform a gruesome execution! After finding and eating the grub here [39/450], move along after defeating the two beetles. It's pretty easy to get turned around in this level, so remember you can also use the Hint Arrow (2 Button) to help show you the way. Gobble up the grub in this next, vaguely similar area [40/450]. I hope the whole level doesn't look this painstakingly identical. Feed on the crickets for health and you'll soon come to a fork. Take the left path to reach a dead end and a grub [41/450]. Return to the intersection and now head right, where you will come across another grub [42/450] and a save point. A group of wolf spiders will ambush you up ahead. I always find these enemies to be tough since the scorpion is so slow. Remember to block a lot and try to use your A Button combos or Tail Whip. Pass by the skeleton hand and go forward to reach what seems to be the rest of the body. How lovely... You'll find a pillbug just up ahead. As far as I know they do not attack, so eat it for some points. If it curls into a ball, whack it and devour it once it's dazed. At the right, eat the two grubs [44/450] and the leaf cricket [1/24]. Hug the left side of the wall and you'll be able to walk on the side of the wall above the skeleton. Continue across the wall to reach a small opening containing three grubs [47/450]. Go back to where you found the leaf cricket and crawl back down onto the ground. Head to the left this time to continue down the tunnel past the skeleton. Eat the crickets and grub [48/450]. Proceed onward to encounter a flame-knee tarantula. This guy is pretty tough, so block and try to swipe at him with a few hits. A button prompt should appear on screen, so follow it to use your Finishing Move. Pass through the skull up ahead and save your game. The tunnel ahead contains a pillbug and two grubs [50/450]. Up ahead, the scorpion finds another flame- knee tarantula. Chase after it and defeat the creatures. Walk up the slope, eating the two grubs as you go across the root [52/450], to reach a new (lighter) area of the underground. As you can tell by the scenery, this seems to be a spider's den. Two wolf spiders appear up ahead, so finish them off and get the grub [53/450]. At the end of the path, crawl onto the root and feast on the grub [54/450]. As you continue across the root, you'll spot a spider feeding on a dead lizard trapped in its web. Welp. Up ahead are a few beetles in the chamber. I hereby dub this the "Beer Bottle Chamber". Defeat the three beetles and follow the grub-ridden path [55/450] onto another root. Go across the root bridge and ignore the wasps that fly overhead. When you get to the fork up ahead, continue straight ahead. As you crawl off of the root and onto the ground, locate the lone grub to the left of the root's base [56/450] and proceed to the save point. Save your game and crawl through the dark tunnel. There are two grubs on the right wall and one on the left wall, so make sure to snag them [59/450] before proceeding. Up ahead, the scorpion witnesses a king scorpion obliterating some bugs in a badass fashion. The creatures fights just like yourself, constantly blocking your attacks and using your same combos. Block the king scorpion's attack, then quickly retaliate. End the battle with a Finishing Move and you will learn the Dig ability. Before testing out your new ability, scrounge the area for grubs. There are two lying on a wall between two cracks [61/450]. Okay, now you can try digging. Repeately shake both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck when standing next to a cracked portion of the wall. Unfortunately, the three cracks contain pillbugs. However, we can uncover another cracked wall we passed earlier on. Backtrack through the tunnel, past the save point, and onto the root bridge. Head back to the fork on the root. This time, take the other path to reach a cracked wall. Dig through to uncover a small cave containing three leaf crickets [4/24] and three grubs [64/450]. What a find! Return to where you defeated the king scorpion and approach the giant root buried in the ground. Follow the smaller roots and climb onto the wall, which creates a neat path that takes you onto the root. Feed on the pair of grubs on the path leading to the root [66/450] and climb on the root. Defeat the wolf spider hanging around here. The root takes you to another cracked wall. Dig your way through to uncover a new area. Aside from a few bug corpses, all you'll find here is a save point and two grubs [68/450]. Dig ahead and move through to complete your Adventure Goal! Find a way out of The Underground - COMPLETED Take down the final grub [69/450] and follow the path to the left. Enter the large cavern and walk to the center. Start digging on the piece of brown dirt to trigger a scene. As a king scorpion enters the room to fight, an even bigger threat appears! .--------------------. --| BOSS: Gila Monster |------------------------------------------------------ '--------------------' The gila monster is far too powerful to be taken down, so your task is to escape from its grasp while avoiding its attacks. Luckily, the gila monster only has two attacks and are both incredibly predictable. If you are too close to the boss, it will swing its huge tail and swat you away. When it roars, it'll get ready to charge you. To avoid the big lizard, dash out of the way. Remember, you must be moving while you shake the Nunchuck to use Dash. There are two crickets roaming around the cave if you are in serious need of health. Notice the cracked portion of the floor in the very center of the cave; that is the key to escaping. There are four pieces of weak dirt formations surrounding this large crack. When you stand over one, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk will appear on screen, meaning you can dig here. Stand on top of a dirt pile and wait for the gila monster to attack. Dodge its charge attack, then return to the dirt pile and frantically dig until the dirt disappears. Repeat this with the other three to create a hole in the middle of the room. The scorpion will crawl through the hole to end the fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Escape from the Gila Monster - COMPLETED After the fight's conclusion, save your game to end the chapter. ============================================================================== 3.03] CHAPTER THREE: WATCHERS [0303] ============================================================================== [ ] - Find the Widows' Cathedral [ ] - Use Web Jump to find a way out of The Brambles Leaf Crickets: 1 [2/17] Grubs: 53 [122/450] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow the open path straight ahead to eventually reach a bramble bush. Watch the following scene as a lizard gets completely obliterated by a swarm of mites. Approach the swarm and use a Spin Attack to shoo them away. Collect the lone grub on the left side of the bramble bush entrance [70/450] and head inside. There are no turns in the path, so it's basically a straight line to the other end. Collect the grub inside [71/450] as you approach a low branch. Jump over it to avoid the thorns and eat the grub on the other side [72/450]. Defeat the mites ahead and you'll find another grub along the way [73/450]. Jump over another thorny branch up ahead and you'll eventually confront some of wolf spiders. You cannot jump while in the bramble bush, so stick to using Spin Attacks or other moves. There are six wolf spiders in all to defeat here. Walk towards the wall at the end and feed on the grub to the side [74/450]. Climb up the wall to reach a cliffside. Before dropping down, jump to the platform to the right to find another grub [75/450]. You have no choice but to fall all the way down to the ground. Unfortunately, you land right in the middle of a black widow spider's den. As a few black widows lower to the ground from their thread, target one at a time. You can now use jumping attacks in this large area, so feel free to jump on top of a black widow and maul it to death. If you ever land on a piece of webbing on the ground, you'll have to shake both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to free yourself. After defeating around three black widows, you will receive an Adventure Goal. There is a total of four grubs here [79/450]. Crawl up the wall at the far end of the den and climb up to the next area. Save your game up ahead and jump over the bramble branch up ahead. Eat the grub just past the branch [80/450] as a black widow scurries away in the distance. Chase after the spider into another bramble bush. A flame-knee tarantula and a silverback tarantula emerge from a wounded garden gnome and confront you. What is a garden gnome doing in a place like this? There are gardens out in the desert? Both of these enemies are pretty tough, especially the silverback tarantula. It will shoot webbing at you, so you will have to shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to free yourself if bound by the sticky thread. Try to jump a lot and use a Jump Strike to down the spiders. If you wish, you can try using the Web Shot of your own. Also, test out your new Venom Pounce ability on the two arachnids. After the fierce battle, grab the grub to the right of the garden gnome [81/450] and jump over the bramble branch ahead. You may be keen enough to spot what looks to be a snake tail just past the branch. When you get close enough, it slithers away. Snakes... why did it have to be snakes? Eat the grub to the right [82/450] and walk ahead to witness the food chain in action. I wonder if this is the same rattlesnake as before? Hop over the thorny branch and feed on the three grubs here [85/450] (one is tucked nicely behind the branch you just jumped over. Use Spin Attack on the mites flying around and hop over the next branch. Proceed forward to find a cricket, which luckily (for you) doesn't get eaten by a predator. Feast on it if you need the health, or save it until after the fight with the king scorpion that emerges from the boot up ahead. If you want to be a cheap assclown like me, continuously spam your Spin Attack over and over again... the king scorpion will never get a chance to recover. Before going inside the boot, walk on top of it to find a nicely hidden grub [86/450]. That one took me ages to locate. *shakes fist* Enter the boot and eat the grub inside [87/450]. It must smell bad. Exit out of the hole in the boot to the other side. Descend into the next chamber to find a few crickets among a leaf cricket [2/17]. Take note of the cell phone in the corner. A well-hidden grub is lying in the brush near the cell phone [88/450]. We find the weirdest assortment of items here. Who loses a cell phone in a bramble bush anyways? Climb up the wall past the busted phone and save your game at the save point. A trio of wolf spiders lie ahead. By defeating them, your max attack power will most likely increase (I assume if you have a certain number of points this will occur). Either way, approach the branch, eat the grub on the side [89/450], then climb the branch. Since you are basically climbing upwards and gravity is still in tact, hitting enemies causes them to automatically fall off the branch to their doom. Collect the grub ahead [90/450] and continue along the branch. Up ahead, you will find three more grubs alongside a few wolf spiders [93/450]. Maneuvering on the thorny branch can be difficult because you can traverse on three sides of it (you cannot walk underneath it). Check all sides of the branch to discover grubs. The camera can get very shakey and it's hard to move around on the branch without the camera flipping out. Including the four I already mentioned in the last paragraph, there are a total of nine grubs on this first branch [98/450]. Eventually, you will reach a dead end, as the branch has been snapped. There is another branch to your left, so you can jump to it and continue your journey. Eat the grub lying in plain sight after transferring to the second branch [99/450]. The good news is that this is the only grub on this branch, so you can make a beeline across the branch into the tunnel ahead. Eat the crickets inside and save your game. As you proceed onto the branch up ahead, it'll break as the tarantula falls into a web below. Frantically free yourself by following the button commands onscreen before the black widows can lower onto the web and devour you alive. You have virtually no time to even think, which makes this challenge so difficult. Follow the first four commands to break through the web, only to land on another one below. Again, follow the prompts correctly to break through the webbing. After breaking through the third web, you fall to the ground along with the black widows. The crimson widow is much stronger than her minions, so try using a Venom Pounce on her. The black widows like to gang up on you, which makes your Spin Attack much more useful: it can hit multiple enemies at once. After defeating the enemies, you will learn the Web Jump ability. Find the Widows' Cathedral - COMPLETE However, you have a new Adventure Goal. You must escape The Brambles with your new technique. To use Web Jump, hold C to enter first-person view. If you manage to find a web patch, point at it and release C to pull yourself to it. First, save your game, then use Web Jump on the web patch against the bramble branch. Once you are yanked onto the webbing, crawl up the branch. Eat the grubs resting here [101/450]. You cannot continue any further due to the number of thorns blocking your way. Look to the right to find a web patch on another branch. Shoot over to it and eat the grub [102/450]. Use Web Jump to reach the third branch, then to the fourth branch. Feast on the grubs as you make your way down the branch [105/450] and once at the end, find and jump over to the next bramble branch. Take the grub [106/450] and crawl through the hole ahead. Head through the cocoon-filled tunnel, saving your game at the save point. Crawl onto the next branch and you will find a single grub at the end [107/450]. Web Jump onto the large web and move around. It's pretty hard to see where you're going when walking on a nearly-transluscent web; there is only one grub here [108/450], so follow the web to the left. You should spot another web patch directly above you, so Web Jump onto the second piece of webbing. Eat the two grubs next to you [110/450] and continue onto the branch. Move along the branch onto another piece of webbing. Gobble up the grub [111/450] and proceed onto the other side of the branch. Immediately upon stepping onto the branch, look ahead at a web patch. Sling yourself onto it. Devour the grub in front of you and go across the web to find a second grub [113/450]. Again, Web Jump to the web patch once you reach a dead end. Boy, this is pretty dang repetitive... Hey, you know what you should do with the grub right next to you? Eat it [114/450]. Step onto the bramble branch and you will find two more grubs along the way [116/450]. Head to the webbing at the end of the road and Web Jump yet again. Eat the grub [117/450], walk forward, then jump to the web patch. There are three grubs here, so ingest them all [120/450]. Web Jump to the final webbing and feed the grub to yourself [121/450]. Use Web Jump to find a way out of The Brambles - COMPLETE Chomp down on the final grub in the tunnel [122/450] as you approach the rattlesnake. Just as it is waiting to strike, one of the humans yanks the snake out of the hole. Phew! Save your game to complete the chapter. ============================================================================== 3.04] CHAPTER FOUR: THE CITADEL [0304] ============================================================================== [ ] - Invade the Tarantula Hawks' cactus hive Leaf Crickets: 4 [8/24] Grubs: 34 [156/450] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From the start of the level, walk forward and dig through the crack in the wall. This place look familiar? We're back in the same area in the first chapter, except we're the scorpion now! Eat the grub on the wall to the right [123/450]. Proceed the other way to encounter a toxic beetle. Avoid the green goo it spews from its back and kill it. Near where the toxic beetle stood is a cracked portion of the ground. Before digging through, look behind the cactus in front of you to find a hidden grub [124/450]. Burrow through and follow the path to a small room populated by two king scorpions. Destroy them and feed on the three grubs inside [127/450], then return to the surface. The scorpion witnesses a fight occur up ahead. A tarantula hawk manages to kill a flame-knee tarantula. Collect the grub to your right [128/450] as the tarantula hawk notices your presence. The bug will fly above you and try to strike you with its stinger, so always remember to dodge when it dives down. Attack when it crawls on the ground. After killing the bug, you will receive a new Adventure Goal. Save your game up ahead and walk past the tree to the opposite side. Walk underneath the left side of the rock slab. Ignore the crack in the ground for now, but instead enter the cavern and eat the three grubs [131/450]. As you try to leave, you'll be attacked by a bone scorpion. It is no different than a king scorpion. Now dig through the hole just outside the cavern to find two grubs [133/450]. Head outside and go through the log. Defeat the mites using a Tail Whip, then climb up onto the rock jutting out of the right side of the tree; you will find a grub here [134/450]. Next, exit through the hole and climb over the log to the other side. Two tarantula hawks will attack one at a time. After their defeat, collect the two grubs [136/450] and enter the other half of the tree. Eat the grub hiding in the corner to the right [137/450] and continue through the tree. Two toxic beetles and a bone scorpion attack from across the tree. Dash towards the toxic beetles first and kill them immediately - you don't want to get poisoned by their green goo. After, target and defeat the bone scorpion. Go over the hill towards the tree's exit. Eat the grub [138/450] and two leaf crickets [6/24]. A black barrier prevents you from going any further, so return to the log's entrance. Save, then climb on top of the rocks across from the log. Take down the pair of toxic beetles and eat the grubs [140/450]. Climb down to the other side to find a tarantula hawk. After defeating it, walk towards the leftmost wall. Climb on the side and eat the grubs on the wall [142/450], then fall back down onto the ground. Follow the path between the wall and the plants, chasing a leaf cricket as you go. After a small clip showing you where to go, eat the cornered leaf cricket [7/24]. Make sure to gobble up the grub above the cracked wall [143/450] before you dig through. As for the grubs on the other side of the wall: we'll get them a little big later. For now, proceed through the dark tunnel to reach another open area. As you approach the bull's skull, a leopard lizard emerges. Cool, we are fighting now! The lizard is very fast and has a nasty ram attack. Try to block its bites and attack with big combos, like Scorpio and Thrash Attack. A second one appears after you eliminate the first. Kill that one as well. Climb on top of the skull and walk onto a ledge. Follow the spine to find a grub, then follow the ledge to find a second [145/450]. Climb back down to the ground and go inside the skull. Ingest the grub here [146/450] and exit through the other eye socket. Crawl up the wall; to the right is the way to go, but if you go further up you will find another crack. Dig through to enter a cavern filled with some grubs [148/450] and a leaf cricket [8/24]. Exit and follow the wall to the side. Enter the cave and save your game. Go up the slope to the right of the save point to find another grub [149/450] and a cracked wall. Burrow through and move through the tunnel. You will end up on the other side of the previous area. Eat the grub to the left and the one in the bottom corner [151/450]. As you maneuver around the big rock jutting from the wall, you may notice three cracks at the top that you can dig through. Digging through all three causes the rock to fall to the ground, conveniently making a new pathway. Crawl down onto the rock and kill the two toxic beetles. Following the rock leads you to another crack in which you can dig through. Proceed through the dimly lit passage to encounter the two humans again, this time digging in the background. Drop to the floor and save your game. Crawl up the wall to the right of the area's entrance. At the top of the wall is a grub [152/450] and a blocked tunnel. Climb back down and follow the path past the save point. Continue through as the two humans bicker. Take down the tarantula hawk up ahead. There's one grub in here, so don't leave the area without it [153/450]. Continue past the number of cacti until you reach a dead end. You can walk on the wall to your left, so head on up and eat the grub along the way [154/450]. The path leads you to a very large shaft: the hive. Before you combat with the first tarantula hawk, gobble up the two grubs on the sides of the hive room [156/450]. After defeating one tarantula hawk, two more come to attack. In total, there are two waves of tarantula hawk pairs. They aren't too much of a hassle. Invade the Tarantula Hawks' cactus hive - COMPLETED After the infantry has been wiped out, walk towards the right side of the hive room. From the entrance, if you hug the right wall you should find a cracked portion of the floor. It's really dark, so either turn the brightness up on your TV or wander around until the Wii Remote/Nunchuck prompts appear on the screen. Dig through and save at the end to finish the chapter. ============================================================================== 3.05] CHAPTER FIVE: DUST TO DUST [0305] ============================================================================== [ ] - Journey to the Citadel Cactus [ ] - Reach the Lizards' Den [ ] - Enter the Octopus Canyon Leaf Crickets: 4 [6/17] Grubs: 40 [196/450] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pass through the tunnel to reach the same barren area where you first fought the leopard lizards in the last chapter. Use Web Jump on the web patch to the far right. Collect the grub lying on the wall below [157/450], then turn around and enter the cave. The tarantula encounters a crimson lizard in the cave. The crimson lizard is very fast and will often sprint behind you to attack. Try to match its agility with frequent jumps or you can slow it down with your Web Shot if you're quick at pointing with the Wii Remote. Exit the cave after your victory to the outside. Climb onto the wall to your right and eat the two grubs [159/450]. Descend to the ground right in front of the skull. Jump over the skull to confront the tarantula hawk. Fighting the tarantula hawk is easier as the tarantula because you can attack while it is airborne. Knock it down to the ground with a Jump Strike, then finish it off. Three more tarantula hawks descend to your location. Take them on one at a time and you should win this easy fight. A scene plays, revealing your next destination. Before continuing, jump onto the right ledge (facing the skull) and devour the two grubs up here [161/450]. Climb onto the skull and jump down towards the spine. Turn around to find a grub right at base of the head, behind the bull's right horn [162/450]. Climb onto the skull and use Web Jump to reach the web patch just past the skull. Climb into the cave and eat the two grubs [164/450]. A flame-knee tarantula enters the cave as you are about to leave. Defeat it, then feed on the cricket here if you're in need of health. Exit the cave and climb across the wall to your right. Aim the pointer towards the right side of the area, beyond the skeleton's spine, to find another web patch. Web Jump over to it, then head into the tunnel. You'll emerge in the oh-so-familiar "log area" as you get a new Adventure Goal. Save your game and climb along the wall to the left. Eat the grub [165/450] and Web Jump to the cactus all by itself. Climb to the ground and kill the two toxic beetles wandering around. Walk past the log to the left and around its right side (as if you were going to the entrance of Chapter Four). Defeat the wolf spiders along the way as you follow the trail as it eventually spills underneath the tree. You will find a leaf cricket here [3/17]. Return back to the entrance of the tree (which is blocked off might I add). While facing away from the tree/log entrance, walk to the right of the giant stone slab towards a small opening (if you remember from Chapter One, this path initially led you into this "log area"). Collect the grub on the side of the rock slab and the one to the right of the passage [167/450]. Enter the passage and feed on the grub on the floor [168/450]. Continue through to reach the area containing the huge dirt bike overhead. Eat the grub [169/450] and leaf cricket [4/17], then pass underneath the big wheel as you hop over the cactus. Defeat the three toxic beetles and save up ahead. Climb onto the wall and feast on the grubs here [171/450]. Stand on the web patch and look around the area to find another web patch; it is to the right of your location. Web Jump over to it, then continue along the wall to find a grub at the end [172/450]. Web Jump to the patch past the dirt bike and eat the second grub here [173/450]. Turn around and walk across the wall, eating the grub along the way [174/450]. At the end, Web Jump to yet another web patch and you will find two grubs here [176/450]. If you couldn't realize it now, you are back at the log area, except you're on the walls. Spin around to find a web patch on the adjascent wall. Sling your way there and ingest the grub [177/450]. Walk across the wall above the rock slab, eating the two grubs here [179/450]. Enter the nearby cave and kill the two crimson lizards inside. Try out your Stealth Pounce to knock one to the ground, then follow up with a Jump Strike or other combo. After the lizards have been dealt with, look up at the ceiling of the cave to find a hole and a web patch. Web Jump up to it and proceed through the tunnel. Eat the leaf cricket inside [5/17] as well as the grub [180/450] before emerging outside. To the left is a dead end featuring two grubs [182/450]. To the right is the way to go. Proceed to the next web patch and feed on the grub just past it [183/450]. Web Jump onto the nearby cactus and walk around its side. Look back at the wall to find another web patch. Web Jump back onto the wall and proceed forward. Web Jump to the next cactus and aim towards the far ledge not too far away. Once at this ledge (the cinema earlier lead you to this area), gobble up the grub near the edge [184/450] and go inside the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, the tarantula encounters the two humans again. Crawl down the wall and eat the leaf cricket chirping in the corner to the right [6/17]. This place look familiar too? We were here last chapter when we invaded the tarantula hawks' hive. As you enter the next area, the tarantula learns how to feed. The two toxic beetles and soldier beetle up ahead aren't the best test subjects since they can probably be killed in one hit, so we'll have to try it out some other time. Eat the grub to your right [185/450] and move onward. Journey to the Citadel Cactus - COMPLETED While you complete one Adventure Goal, you receive another. Go forward and eliminate the leopard lizard. Take down the grub at the end of the path [186/450] and climb up the cactus. Eat the grub [187/450] and enter the tarantula hawk hive again. Slay the two tarantula hawks that attack and climb up the webbing on the side of the hive. Web Jump to the central portion of the hive and crawl around its side. Web Jump to the next patch of webbing, then immediately turn to find another web patch on the central portion of the hive. Jump over to it, then walk around the side to find a hole in the cactus. There is a web patch on the other side of the hole, so Web Jump through to exit the cactus hive. Eat the nearby grub [188/450] and proceed towards the lizards' den. Don't worry about trying to get the two grubs on the ceiling; we will get them a bit later. Save up ahead, eat the crickets, and head into the intimidating den. Reach the Lizards' Den - COMPLETED Feast on the grub near the entrance of the den [189/450] and proceed to the lit chamber of the den. Two crimson lizards will crawl down from the ceiling and gang up on the tarantula. Defeat both of the crimson lizards here. Like you know already, these are pretty tough foes. Try using your Stealth Strike if afar or Spin Attack to knock them down. Unfortunately, you cannot feed on lizards when they are overturned. Another pair will enter the den after the first two are dead. Again, repeat the same strategy, though this fight may be tougher if you're low on health. The tarantula will feed on the fourth crimson lizard and learn the Crawl Upside-Down ability. Backtrack to the entrance and save your game, then go back to the fighting grounds. Climb up onto the nearby wall and continue onto the ceiling. Cool! Once on the ceiling, navigate past all the cocoons and eat the two grubs [191/450]. Continue along to find two more grubs -- the one I mentioned when you first entered the lizards' den [193/450]. Crawl to the end of the path to reach a tunnel, then exit to the other side of the canyon. Feed on the nearby grub [194/450] and save up ahead. Go through the tunnel to reach Octopus Canyon. Now I see why it received that name. Enter the Octopus Canyon - COMPLETED Chomp on the cricket at the canyon's entrance and maneuver into the canyon. A horned lizard will emerge from the ground and block your path. The horned lizard's exterior is so sharp, that even jumping on him will cause you to take damage. Target the front of the lizard and use Spin Attack and combos such as Double Strike and Buzzsaw. If you manage to knock the horned lizard on its back, you will be able to feed on it. If this happens, you basically seal the deal for yourself. Otherwise, dodge the horned lizard's ram and continue attacking its face. You can also eat the cricket if you ever need the strength. Once the battle ends, the path will open up. Feed on the grub near the cave entrance [195/450] and move inside. Feast on the final grub resting on the cave wall [196/450] and save up ahead to complete the chapter. ============================================================================== 3.06] CHAPTER SIX: ENTANGLED [0306] ============================================================================== [ ] - Explore the Citadel Cactus [ ] - Traverse the Octopus Canyon [ ] - Explore the Wasteland Tunnels Leaf Crickets: 6 [14/24] Grubs: 42 [238/450] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crawl through the chamber as it goes from black to a deep red hue. Eat the one grub in the passage [197/450] to reach an open area. The scorpion confronts an angry praying mantis. The bug is very strong and has a few attacks that cannot be blocked. However, it is very slow - possibly even slower than yourself. Kill the praying mantis to learn the Chop ability. Swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuck left and right to chop weeds. Try it out on the weeds blocking the |
