The main activities in the game are solving puzzles and collecting items. The purpose of this guide is to help you complete the game to 100%. The Story Mode Walkthrough consists of only the steps you need to take to actually complete each level. Please see the Free Play section for information on how to attain True Wizard status in each chapter, as well as for information about the locations of all of the Students in Peril, Hogwarts Crest pieces, and Character Tokens. Additionally, the Free Play section contains information on finding all of the collectibles located in Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Knockturn Alley. ------------------ 2) Glitch Warnings ------------------ This game can be very glitchy. I have tried to include tips throughout the walkthrough to help you try to avoid some of the common ones. Press ctrl+f and search for the code *GW to make it easier to locate these warnings throughout the walkthrough. (Don't forget the * or you will find every instance of the word Hogwarts.) While these will not keep you from experiencing any glitches at all, I hope they will help you avoid some of the more problematic ones. The most important general warning is to never quit a Story Mode chapter during your first time through it, if you can avoid it. Many people on the message boards have mentioned problems with not being able to access the level again later on, meaning you have to start a new game in order to be able to finish it 100%. This problem most commonly seems to occur with the Tom Riddle's Diary level (Year 2, Chapter 4), so be especially careful not to exit that level. Additionally, the game has a habit of freezing, especially when loading cutscenes or new rooms throughout the levels. This problem seems to mostly be caused by playing the game for too long in one session. If you are experiencing freezing problems, turn the game off for a while, and it should help. Finally, my main advice to you is to backup your save file every now and then in order to have a restore if you become the victim of a major glitch. If you are playing the PS3 version of the game, you can store a copy of your save file under a separate profile. To do this, first create a second user profile. Then go to the Saved Data Utility (PS3) on your profile. Select the Lego Harry Potter save file, and press triangle. Select copy, and choose the second user profile that you have created. You cannot play this file on your second profile (actually, you can, but trophies are disabled, as well as saving). However, if you experience a major glitch, you can delete the save file from your profile, and copy the backup from the second profile to yours. This will allow you to start back at a point before you e+xperienced the glitch. ----------- 3) Controls ----------- Left control stick - Move character Right control stick - Move camera Triangle - Use vehicles/Kill books/Switch characters Circle - Special spells/Interact X - Jump Square - Attack/Use targeted spells *Holding square will bring up a target which you can move with the left control stick. Doing this will usually fire the appropriate spell at enemies (i.e. Immobulus for the Cornish pixies) without needing to manually select the spell from the wheel. R1 and L1 - Cycle characters in Free Play Mode/Cycle spells in Story Mode R2 and L2 - Cycle spells ----------------------------------------- 4) Spells, Potions, and Special Abilities ----------------------------------------- Not all spells can be used by every wizard or witch, though most of these spells can be performed by any adult wizard or one of the main three (Harry, Hermione, and Ron) by Year 4, Chapter 3. Potions can be made and used by everyone. Special abilities, on the other hand, are tied to specific characters. Spells ------ Wingardium Leviosa Select the pink circle on the east side of the spell wheel. Hold circle to lift up objects/people or build Lego pieces. For free-building blocks, hold circle to lift them up and then manually move them with the left control stick. If you have difficulty targeting a specific object, you can also hold square to make the target appear--move the target over the object you want to lift until the pink haze forms around it, and continue holding square to raise the item. Lumos/Lumos Solem Select the white circle in the southeast position of the spell wheel. Press circle to light up your wand tip and kill both stationery and wriggling vines. Target Devil's Snare plants by holding square to kill them with Lumos Solem. You do not need to specifically select this spell to kill Devil's Snare. Immobulus This spell is located at the blue dot at the south of the spell wheel. Use it to kill Cornish pixies. Target them once by holding square in order to freeze them. While they are frozen, hold square to target them a second time and destroy them. You do not need to specifically select this spell to kill Cornish pixies. Expelliarmus/Transfigure/Purchased Spells These spells occupy the red dot in the northern position of the spell wheel. Once you have learned Transfigure or purchased any of the spells (other than Accio) from Wiseacre's Wizarding Supplies shop in Diagon Alley, the spells will rotate in this position. If you select it on the wheel, you will see that the red icon below the spell wheel keeps changing. There is no way to manually select just one of these spells. When you target someone with a red spell, you will fire whichever one is shown in the icon at the time that you release square. If you want to fire a specific one of these spells (like Glacius if you are going for the PS3 trophy--see the trophy section for more info), you need to wait until the proper icon appears before firing. You do not need to specifically select these spells to use them on other characters. Riddikulus Located in the yellow dot on the southwest side of the spell wheel, this spell is used to get rid of boggarts when they come out of their rattling chests. Harry does not learn this spell and cannot use it. You do not need to specifically select this spell to kill boggarts. Expecto Patronum (the Patronus Charm) This spell occupies the white dot to the west on the spell wheel. It can be used to kill dementors, as well as boggarts that take the form of dementors. This is the only way Harry can kill boggarts. Hermione and Ron do not learn this spell. You do not need to specifically select this spell to kill dementors. Reducto The orange dot on the northwest of the spell wheel represents this spell, which you can use to destroy shiny silver items. It is mostly used to get rid of locks found throughout the game. You do not need to specifically select this spell to destroy silver items. Dark Magic This spell is represented by the same dot as Wingardium Leviosa, but only dark wizards can use it. When you find a black object with red sparkles around it, select this spell and hold circle to use it. Accio This spell is also represented by the same dot as Wingardium Leviosa. It can be purchased at Wiseacre's Wizarding Supplies shop in Diagon Alley. It is a summoning spell, which can be used two ways. First, it allows you to lift some items by simply pressing circle instead of holding it. Second, you can now summon potion ingredients to you instead of physically picking them up. When the pink haze appears around them, press circle to summon them to you. This spell isn't incredibly useful, and it costs a lot. Avada Kedavra (the Killing Curse) Represented by the green dot on the northeast side of the spell wheel, the Killing Curse can only be performed by some dark wizards. Using it on an enemy creates a flash of green light and kills it instantly (except for bosses). Use it the same way you use any other attack spells. Unlike the other attacks, however, you do have to manually select this one on the spell wheel in order to use it. There isn't necessarily a practical purpose for this spell, but it's just fun sometimes to run around as the Dark Lord killing everyone in sight. Potions ------- Exploding Potion This potion is created by combining an ice cream, a red spider, and a bunch of flowers in a cauldron. The potion itself is green. Adding the third ingredient will cause the potion to explode, destroying nearby obstacles. Strengthening Potion This potion is created by combining a bone, a snake fang, and a purple flower. The potion itself is orange. Drinking it will make your character temporarily stronger so that he/she can pull chains. Polyjuice Potion This potion is created by combining flowers, a red spider, and a cherry. The potion itself is green and is only made in golden cauldrons. Drinking it will allow you to become another character. This is the only way to switch playable characters inside of Hogwarts. **GW** When you use Polyjuice Potion inside of Hogwarts to become a character that isn't Harry, Ron, or Hermione, occasionally the game will freeze when you walk into another room. Restart, and you should be fine. **GW** This only happened once but was a bit of a nuisance nonetheless. I used the Polyjuice Potion cauldron in the Entrance Hall. When I exited to the Bathroom Hallway, I suddenly had only two characters instead of three. Coming back to the Entrance Hall, I still had just two characters. I went to other rooms, but nothing helped. Returning to the Leaky Cauldron and then going back to Hogwarts seemed to fix the problem. Invisibility Potion This potion is created by combining a red spider, cherries, and a turkey leg. The potion itself is a greyish color. Drinking it will make your character temporarily invisible so that you can sneak past Mr. Filch or kill red books without an Invisibility Cloak. Aging Potion This potion is created by combining a tree branch, a banana, and an orange snake. The potion itself is blue. Drinking it will make your character grow a beard so that he/she can cross blue age lines. Additionally, characters who are older (not students) can also cross these lines without making the potion. Special Abilities ----------------- Tube Pets/Animagi In the early part of the game, Ron can release his pet rat Scabbers by selecting the green dot in the northeast part of the spell wheel. Later, Hermione can use her cat Crookshanks in the same way. Select the green dot and then press circle to release the pet. Similarly, any Animagus that you unlock and purhcase can transform into his/her animal form by selecting the green dot and pressing circle. Pressing circle a second time puts the pet away/reverts the character back to human form. Invisibility Cloak Represented by the same dot as pets and Avada Kedavra, the Invisibility Cloak can only be worn by Harry. Select the green dot, and press circle to put on the cloak. While it is on you cannot move as quickly or jump as high. Press circle again to remove it. Earmuffs In order to handle Mandrakes, you need to be wearing earmuffs. Put on a pair by standing in the circle of light in front of a dresser and pressing circle. Digging Pets When you are using a digging pet, hold square to dig. Bookshelves Hermione can unlock bookshelves by standing in the circle of light in front of them and pressing circle. The four images on the bookshelf will light up in a specific order. Select them in the same order to unlock the bookshelf. Time Turner Hermione can use a Time Turner at the tall, brown clocks. Stand in the circle of light and press circle to activate the Time Turner. Doing so will allow you access to the same room/area at a different period in time. Many additional collectibles can be found by using the Time Turner. To return to the present, exit the room/area. House Members Hogwarts students belong to one of four houses--Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw. Some items and areas, such as the house common rooms and dormitories require a member of that house in order to access them. ------------------------- 5) Story Mode Walkthrough ------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- Year 1 - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone ---------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 - The Magic Begins SS-01 ---------------------------- ----- You begin inside the Leaky Cauldron as Harry, with Hagrid as your alternate character. Press triangle to switch to controlling Hagrid. In the northeast corner of the room is a barrel, and near it is a section of floor made from brown LEGO bricks. Approach it, and Harry will stand on this section of floor. A pink haze should appear around the floor. Hold circle to raise it using the Wingardium Leviosa spell. Press triangle to switch back to Harry. Climb the stairs, and on the landing is a door knob. Pick it up by pressing circle when you are near it. Carry it back down the stairs to the door, and press circle again to place the knob on the door. Press triangle to switch back to Hagrid. Use Wingardium Leviosa to turn the door knob and go outside. Use Wingardium Leviosa to place the bricks on the ground into the brick wall. It will open and you will have access to Diagon Alley. If you continue as far as you can down the alley, there will be a cauldron with images of three items floating above it. Any time you see this, you must collect the items shown above the cauldron in order to create a potion. To the left of the cauldron is an ice cream stand. Use Wingardium Leviosa to obtain an ice cream. Pick it up and place it in the cauldron. Backtrack down the alley to find a table with flowers on it on the right side of the screen. Pick them up and place them in the cauldron. Backtrack down the alley once more to find a spiderweb on the left side of the screen. Pick up the spider from the center of the web and place it in the cauldron. The cauldron will bubble and explode. Walk forward to find a chain with an orange pull bar attached to it on the left side of a doorway. These chains can only be pulled by heavy characters such as Hagrid. Stand in the circle of light and press circle to pull the chain, opening the doorway. Inside of Gringotts Bank, walk forward until you reach a podium with a goblin on it near the far end of the room. Stand in the circle of light and press circle. After the cutscene, the goblin banker Griphook will have joined your set of useable characters. Press triangle to switch to him, and walk back to the center of the room, where you will see a circle of light in front of a gate on the northern wall. Stand in the circle of light and hold the circle button to open the lock. Only goblins can open locks like these. Inside, use Hagrid to pull the chain and raise the gate. Use Griphook to open the lock beyond the gate. Have Hagrid use Wingardium Leviosa to assemble the bricks that come out of the safe, creating a picture frame, and wave at it by pressing circle while standing in the circle of light. The goblin in the painting will open the way forward. After riding the cart, you will be in the Gringotts vaults. Walk to the left, and have Hagrid pull the chain on the wall. The fire-breathing bat will fly away, and you can now have Griphook open the lock. Walk inside the vault. Back in Diagon Alley, enter Ollivander's shop on the right side of the alley (there is a big arrow pointing to it) to complete this level. Hogwarts H-01 -------- ---- Between the various levels of story mode, you will have to complete lessons inside of Hogwarts Castle. You begin as Harry, with Ron as your alternate character, inside the Gryffindor Boys' Dormitory. Hold square and move the left control stick to target the spiderwebs over the door, letting go of square when you want to fire your spell. Walkthrough the door into the Gryffindor Common Room. Walk toward the northeast corner of the room, and a dresser will come to life and eat some LEGO clothing that is lying around. Follow it toward the door and aim a spell at the orange rectangle to the right of the dresser. It will turn around to reveal a painting of a wizard. Aim a spell at him to make his pants fly off, distracting the dresser so that you can leave the room. In the House Hallway, you will be joined by Hermione. Walk toward the screen to find Nearly Headless Nick, the Gryffindor ghost, who will leave a trail of ghost studs leading you to your next task. Any time you are unsure of what to do when you are in Hogwarts, find Nick and he will show you the way. Follow him to the left and down the stairs. Follow the stairs up the Moving Staircases to the next landing. (Nick will have gone another way. You have to move the staircase in order to follow him.) On this landing, switch to Ron and press circle to release his pet rat, Scabbers. Lead Scabbers up the tunnel on the wall, and push the button on the left at the end of the tunnel. Walk back down the stairs to find a circle of light in front of a painting of a wizard. Press circle to wave to him, and he will move the staircase so that you can continue downward. Follow Nick's trail of ghost studs to the northwest and down the stairs. Continue all the way to the west side of the next room (the Main Hallway) and out the door into the Lessons Hallway. Follow Nick out the west door of this room, as well. Enter the northwest door in the Charms Hallway to begin a Charms lesson with Professor Flitwick, in which you will learn the spell Wingardium Leviosa. In the northwest corner of the classroom are some free-building blocks. You can use Wingardium Leviosa (hold circle) to build these blocks into any shape you'd like. Use them to create stairs leading up to the platform on the right. Jump up the newly created stairs to find a large square painting. Aim a spell at it, and it will release a mechanical hand. Use Wingardium Leviosa on it to attach it to the wall. Then lift the nearby barrel into the hand to rescue the first student. Further to your right, there are pieces of a LEGO character on the floor. First, lift his body (it's the left-most piece) on to the statue base, then his head, then his spear. (If at any point you have trouble aiming your Wingardium Leviosa spell at what you want to lift, hold square to aim a spell just like you do for attack spells--the pink haze will appear over-liftable items, and you can continue aiming at it and holding square until itrises into the air.) Raise the barrel to the left of the statue to rescue the next student. Return to the main floor of the classroom to find a barrel on the eastern wall. Raise it to rescue the final student and complete the lesson. Exit the classroom. Follow Nearly Headless Nick to the east into the Lessons Hallway, then north into the Main Hallway, where he will float behind a gate. On the left of the gate are the instructions for how to open it. Create a stack of LEGO blocks like the one in the picture. First, lift the blue block onto the base (in the far left corner). Place the green block on top if it, then the yellow block to open the gate. In the Entrance Hall, follow Nick up the stairs. Here you will need to piece together the Hogwarts crest in order to continue into the Great Hall. In the northeast corner is a student near a large torch. Raise the torch to receive the crest pieces from under it. In the northwest corner is a bookshelf with a chest on one of the shelves. Open it using Wingardium Leviosa to obtain the second set of crest pieces. Float both sets of crest pieces into place and enter the Great Hall to begin Level 2. Chapter 2 - Out of the Dungeon SS-02 ------------------------------ ----- You begin in a hallway with Harry and Ron. Walk forward and the troll will knock down part of the wall. Switch to Ron and have him release Scabbers by pressing circle. (If he won't do it, make sure that the proper spell is selected--in the upper left corner is your character icon. Around it are various colored dots, representing your spells. The green dot should be largest in order to use Scabbers. If you need to switch spells, press R1, R2, L1, or L2 to do so.) Have Scabbers enter the tube and climb up and to the left to turn off the first valve. Continue to the right with Scabbers to shut off the second valve. Continue walking to the right and the troll will knock a boulder down into your way. Aim a spell at the hopping shelves on the left side of the north wall in order to release two Lego blocks. Use them to create stairs to the upper platform. Jump on top of the platform then over to the right platform. Lift the torch over to the statue, then jump back to the ground. use Wingardium Leviosa to build a trident and then raise it to the mermaid statue. Continue forward to see the troll enter the girls' bathroom. Build the pieces that are hopping around in front of you. Shoot the painting of the wizard with a spell, and he will give you a disguise. Enter the bathroom by standing in the circle of light and pressing circle. The troll will destroy the bathroom stalls. If you approach him, he will knock you backward. When he has destroyed every part of the stalls except for the one Hermione is in, there will be some debris in the middle of the floor. Lift it up and send it flying into him. Now he will send debris flying at you. While it is in midair, send it flying back at him. (If you are having difficulty, wait until the debris gets closer to you before pressing circle, or move to a different location.) Finally, raise the purple club that is on the ground at his feet. Lift it above his head and let it drop down onto him to complete the level. Hogwarts H-02 -------- ---- **GW** Back in the Entrance Hall, walk to the western wall to find a broken statue. Raise his arms back into place, then send Scabbers up the tube to knock his head off the ledge and reattach it as well. (When you are controlling Scabbers, press circle to return control to Ron.) The golden wall should now raise. This doesn't do much for you now, but it will help you avoid a potential problem later. (Some people have had problems because when you have to get behind this wall in the story, you do not have a character that can use the tube and thus cannot raise the golden wall.) Head to the center of the room and follow Nick down the stairs to the Main Hallway. Exit the western door of the Main Hallway to return to the Lessons Hallway, then go through the western door again to enter the Charms Hallway. Enter the northeast door to begin your second Charms lesson, Lumos. Lumos allows you to light up the area around you, as well as to kill vines growing in your way. Use the R1, R2, L1, or L2 button to cycle through your available spells until you have selected the white dot representing the Lumos spell. Alternatively, you can hold triangle to bring up your spell wheel and then select your desired spell with the left control stick or d-pad. Once you have selected Lumos, press circle to light up the end of your wand. Approach the vines along the north wall to release the star piece it is holding. Carry the star piece to the center of the classroom and place it on the star on the floor. Walk to the west wall to find a second piece. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the free-building blocks in the northwest corner to build a staircase to the upper level. Climb the stairs to find three sets of vines that you can kill with Lumos, one near where you built the stairs, one around a statue holding a chest, and one near the east wall. Bring all three of these pieces downstairs (one at a time) to complete the star on the floor and the lesson. Exit the classroom into the Charms Hallway, then walk east into the Lessons Hallway. Continue east to find some vines blocking your path. Kill them with Lumos, then follow Nick toward the north central part of the room. Kill the vines there as well to raise the gate and enter your first Potions lesson with Professor Snape. In this lesson you will learn to make the Strengthening Potion so that you can pull chains when you do not have access to a heavy character. In the northwest part of the classroom is a tube for Scabbers. Raise the pieces on the floor to build the remainder of the tube, then use Scabbers to knock the first potion ingredient to the floor. Pick up the purple flower and place it in the cauldron in the northeast part of the classroom. Use Wingardium Leviosa on the green snake wrapped around the central column near the front of the room to make it fall to the floor. Pull the fang from its mouth and place it in the cauldron. In the southwest part of the classroom is a brown brick wall. Open it to reveal a skeleton which you can swing until it drops a bone. Place the bone in the cauldron, as well, to finish the Strengthening Potion. Stand next to the cauldron and press circle to drink some. Then pull the chain and exit the classroom through the southwest door. Follow Nearly Headless Nick back to the Main Hallway and up the stairs. Jump up the platforms on the wall, and raise a box of food on the third platform into the the lion's mouth, revealing a doorway. In the Outer Corridor, walk west to enter the Clock Tower Courtyard. On the west side of the courtyard, use Lumos to kill the vines and enter the Herbology Grounds. Walk north into the Greenhouse to begin your first Herbology lesson with Professor Sprout. Your Lumos spell has now been upgraded to Lumos Solem, and you can now kill Devil's Snare (the wiggling plants growing out of green circles). Hold square and target the Devil's Snare plants in the greenhouse. After killing the ones nearest you, flowers will appear on the floor. Hit each of them twice with spells to get rid of them. In the southwest corner is a cart on its side--use Wingardium Leviosa on it. In the southeast corner are some valves which you can turn. After you have done all of these things, you will be able to use Wingardium Leviosa to build all of the pieces into a cart. Hop into the back of it to destroy the plants near Ron. Use Lumos Solem to kill the Devil's Snare holding him to complete the lesson. Exit the Greenhouse via the door on the east side. Walk southeast and go through the gate on the left to enter the Training Grounds for your flying lesson with Madam Hooch. When on your broomstick, hold X to rise and use the left control stick to steer. Stop moving to fly lower. Harry can fire spells while on the broom, as well. Fly to the northwest corner to see a gargoyle playing with Neville's remembrall. Hit it with a spell and it will throw it to the next gargoyle. It will fly around, and you must hit it with a spell three times. Finally, hit all three flowers on the north wall to get the remembrall. If you don't hit all three quickly enough, they will begin to move again, and you will have to hit them with spells again. After the flying lesson, you will be back in the Herbology Grounds. Walk east through the Clock Tower Courtyard to the Outer Corridor. Continue east then south to find your way into the Fountain Courtyard blocked by some vines. Use Lumos to kill them and continue forward. In the Fountain Courtyard, use Lumos Solem to kill the three Devil's Snare plants. Assemble the gyroscope and place it between the purple posts. Hit the weeds in the northeast corner with a spell to release a snake fang, and place it in the cauldron. The weeds in the northwest corner contain the bone, while the southeast corner weeds have the flower. Place them both in the cauldron, and drink the Strengthening Potion. Pull the chain on the gyroscope to open the passageway. Continue out onto the Wooden Bridge. Press triangle to mount your broomstick and fly across the gap. Press triangle again to dismount your broom. Approach the gap and use Wingardium Leviosa to repair the bridge so that Ron and Hermione can cross it. Continue out the east end of the bridge and onto the Hogwarts Grounds. Follow Nearly Headless Nick north onto the Quidditch Grounds. Walk north and enter the tent to being Level 3. Chapter 3 - A Jinxed Broom SS-03 -------------------------- ----- You begin as Hermione and Ron during Harry's first Quidditch match. Walk down the stairs onto the platform below, then head north. Lift the crates out of the way, and then continue northeast. The Quidditch players will destroy a section of the stands. Use the broomstick to fly across to the other side. Walk south, then east. Place the pieces of the tube back into the appropriate places. (The left piece goes in the far right gap. The center piece goes in the left gap, and the right piece goes into the center gap.) Send Scabbers through the tube to the upper platform. He will scare the girl, and she will make the platform collapse. Back as Ron and Hermione, head west to the bricks that fell and build them into a staircase to the upper level. Lift the crates out of the way, and hit the remaining ones with spells so that you can move forward. Use spells on each of the twp broomsticks on the north wall, and build the pieces into a bookshelf. As Hermione, stand in the circle of light and press circle. The bookshelf will show a pattern, which you then must repeat by selecting the squares in the correct order. (If you get it wrong, it will show the pattern again.) This will open the wall to the east. Continue onward to find an orange screen on the north wall. Shoot it with a spell, then shoot the painting that is revealed to get rid of the student on the upper level. Build a staircase with the blocks and continue to the upper level and through the doorway. Build the staircase on the left, and use Hermione at the bookshelf on the right to release some platforms. Lift the platforms into the three braces on the north wall, then climb the stairs and the platforms to the upper level. In the northwest corner is a statue holding a torch. Hit it with a spell, and it will set the nearby crates on fire, opening the pathway onward. Walk through the new opening to finish the level. Hogwarts H-03 -------- ---- Follow Nick to the southwest, back into the Hogwarts Grounds, then southwest again to the Wooden Bridge. Cross the Wooden Bridge to start a cutscene, after which you wil be back in the House Hallway. Enter the Gryffindor Common Room by standing in the circle of light and waving at the painting of the Fat Lady. After a cutscene, Harry will have the Invisibility Cloak, and Level 4 will begin. Chapter 4 - The Restricted Section SS-04 ---------------------------------- ----- In this level, you play Harry and Ron. A red book is hopping around in the middle of the room. Put on the Invisibility Cloak (as Harry, highlight the green dot on your spell wheel, then press circle), and then approach the book and press triangle to kill it. Do the same for the book in the northeast corner. The Grey Lady will throw a yellow book from the shelf, which makes some flowers appear. In the center of the flowers is a cauldron, which you can raise with Wingardium Leviosa. Hit the desk in the northwest corner with a spell to release some building materials. Assemble them into a book, and the statue will knock some more books to the floor. Stand on the yellow one and your other character will raise it, allowing you to jump onto the stack of books and then onto the upper level. (Hold X when you jump onto the stack of books to bounce higher.) Use Wingardium Leviosa on the torch to reveal the ice cream, which you can put into the cauldron. Jump onto the book that the statue in the northeast corner is holding, and your partner will raise it for you to jump onto the upper level. The flower is in the second flower box along the railing. Look for the rays of light coming from it. To get the spider, hit the bookshelf with a spell, blowing a hole in the wall and revealing a spiderweb. Collect these two ingredidents, and place them in the cauldron to gain access to the next room. In this room, you need to avoid Mr. Filch. Shoot the books in the northwest nook to reveal a green Lego piece. Pick it up and place it in the gate in the next nook to the east. Lift the blue and the red pieces into place, as well, and the gate will open. Collect the green key at the north end of the nook. Take the key to the northeast corner and unlock the green gate. If Mr. Filch catches you, press triangle to switch characters, and then hit Mrs. Norris (Filch's cat) with a spell to make him release your character. Inside the green gate is a Scabbers tube. Use a spell to knock away the books blocking the entrance, and send Scabbers through the tube to knock down the missing piece of the door. Lift it into place, and continue into the next room. Use Lumos on the vines on the west wall to send two bats flying into the room. They will land on the top of the mirror on the north wall. Hit them with spells to raise the sheet covering the mirror and finish the level. Hogwarts H-04 -------- ---- You begin back in the Main Hallway, where you can find Nearly Headless Nick in the center of the room. Approach him, then follow him up the stairs and out the northeast door into the Outer Corridor. Continue east through the Fountain Courtyard and Wooden Bridge and out into the Hogwarts Grounds. Nick takes you to Hagrid's Hut in the northeast corner of the area, where you begin the next level. Chapter 5 - The Forbidden Forest SS-05 -------------------------------- ----- You begin this level with Fang, Hermione, Hagrid, and Ron. Kill the wasp that is buzzing around you and head to the northwest corner to find the wasp nest hanging from above, Target it with a spell to destroy it so that the wasps will leave you alone. Head to the northeasy corner now where you will see some round Lego pieces hopping around. Raise them up into the shape of a cloud to raise a ladder to the upper level. Switch to Fang and climb the ladder, and hold square to dig up the patch of dirt. (There are blue paw prints eminating from the spot where you should dig.) This will free some bowtruckles who will make a ladder to the upper area on the east side of the screen. Drop back down to the main level, then climb the newly built ladder. Continue east to find another wasp nest you can destroy. Further east is a large area of dirt that you can dig. Hold square until Fang is completely done digging to reveal a hole leading to the next part of the level. On the next screen, kill the wasp and its nest to the north. Next to the nest are some vines you can kill with Lumos, then some dead vines you can destory with a spell to gain access to the next area. Walk east until you come to a cliff you cannot yet climb. Follow a trail of coins south into some water. Swim to the middle of the area, and use Fang to dig on the small island you find there. The water will drain so that you can now stand. Use Lumos on the vines to the north, then have Hagrid pull the chain that is revealed. Go northwest to get back to the area near the cliff to find two free-building blocks stuck in spiderwebs on the north wall, as well as one stuck in the ground. Target spells at the webs, and use Fang to dig to release the blocks; then assemble them into stairs to the upper level. Kill the wasp and its nest. Continue east across the bridge Hagrid raised and past a large tree until you reach some wooden planks stuck in spiderwebs on the north wall. Attack the webs with spells to release the planks, and build them into a small tree. Use Wingardium Leviosa to expand its branches into a ramp. Climb the ramp, kill the Devil's Snare, and head through the opening to finish the level. Hogwarts H-05 -------- ---- After a short cutscene you find yourself on the Moving Staircases. Follow Nearly Headless Nick up the stairs. Wave at the painting on the first landing to move the staircase, allowing you to continue upward. Follow Professor Quirrell into the door on the next landing to begin the next level. Chapter 6 - Face of the Enemy SS-06 ----------------------------- ----- |

If you're in free play, how do you switch spells? Previously you use the 1/2 buttons to switch, but now those switch between characters

Help needed plz all. Have just started year 4, and entered a room with rons twins at the cauldron, where you have to mix paints etc and am stuck on how to obtain the banana from the fish tank. Ron seems to have lost the scabbers spell. Dont know if this is part of the game or not, or just a glitch. But any help would be most appreciated, as no text in the walkthroughs above about this part. Many thx.
