Mario Kart 64 [Virtual Console] Hints

To get a boost at the start of the race and an early lead, do not hold the acceleration button before the race. Wait until after the last light flashes, then punch the gas. If you time it just right, you should get a boost that puts you into first place!

To get these ghosts, you must beat the times listed below.

Mario Raceway 1'30''00
Royal Raceway 2'40''00

As soon as you start to race, you will see the wall at the left of you. Jump at that wall right before you hit it, and you will be on the other side! And do it again, jump over the wall before you hit it where you see the starting line. BUT! Make sure when you jump you must land ON the starting line! Then you will be on your 2nd lap already! Do this two more times, and the race will be finished in no time!

In oreder to play against actual ghosts from the Nintendo company, you must enter a time Trail Race. Pick one of the three tracks within the time limit shown below, and you'll be able to go against real ghosts!

Luigi Raceway: 1'52"00
Royal Raceway: 2'40"00

In order to get a new title screen, you must EVERY SINGLE GOLD TROPHY IN THE GAME! That is 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and 150cc Mirror. Then you will get a new and cooler title screen!
