When you beat the game on multiplayer( may also work on single player), there will be credits. The credits are made out of blocks. Hit them! Some will have nothing, some have one coin, and some have multiple coins! Get as many as you can! On multiplayer, try to get more coins than anyone else( the number of coins you collect are on the top left side of the screen. Also the characters that you play with are left out they will be dancing on either side).

when you get 99 lives Mario will not have a cap. when you lose a life he will get it back. not really a cheat but a Easter egg. watch my video. video link at top of this.

Towards the end of 3-1, you'll find a few blocks that lead a path to a pipe. Get a Penguin suit and run towards the blocks and then press down. Slide and smash the blocks and go into the pipe.

In the area the pipe leads you to, a pipe will release penguins. Just a little below is a space with the last Star Coin. Stand a little to the left where you have a little jump room. The penguins will hit the wall and turn towards you. When one gets near, jump and freeze it, then jump on it.

Just before the penguin will go through the tight space, hold down the down button on the control pad. When you get through the space, jump just before the penguin falls down into the hole.

You should get the Star Coin and jump onto a blue line of ground. You just go back into the pipe you entered from and finish the level.

To get a mushroom house to appear in multiplayer, you simply need to clear the level when the time has the same 2 end digits next to each other when you touch the flag pole. Examples: 544, 322, 411. Depending on the two end digits, you will make different mushroom houses appear at the start point, as you would in single player when you save a Toad, only the digits are mostly red mushroom houses. Two zeros at the end will get you nothing. When you do this, you hear the original Super Mario Bros. level clear music and see a number of fireworks depending on what the last 2 digits are. 1 firework for 11, 2 for 22, and so on.

If you go to the Toad game were you shoot to get more lives, if you shoot at the same time, then you and your friend will at least get 2 lives, and you will get another shot. Also you need to be at the final world, and your friend has to be the yellow toad. Have fun getting more lives.

If you press 1 and shake the Wii remote to pick up a small object, like a turtle shell (as opposed to just picking it up with 1), you'll hold it above your head, protecting you from falling Bob-Ombs, etc.

Go on 2 player and carry luigi to the the finish and get all the coins in 1-1. then go to he mushroom house that you unlock. do 1-1 again and collect at least 1 silver coin and you will get another mushroom house. repeat until it stops giving it to you.

When you're playing multiplayer and one of the players runs out of lives mid-level, he or she can still contribute to the game from the Great Beyond. Each direction of the D-pad is mapped to a different sound effect. Hold a direction and hit the 1 and 2 buttons to trigger different sounds, including clapping, a horn, kick and snare drums, and of course cowbell. The unfortunate players waiting for the level to end can add a drum line to the music.

In New SMB Wii, you can make a bonus Mushroom house appear on the map by saving Toad when he appears in a level. To do this, you'll need to head to a level with the white Toad marker. Release Toad from the ? Block he's trapped in -- near the beginning of a level, listen for the cries -- and run him all the way to the end of the level to make a Mushroom House spawn. The type of Mushroom house depends on the final digit of the time when you grab the flag at the end of the level.

• Green (1-Up cannon game) - Get Toad to the end of the level, hit flag when the last digit of the time ends in 0, 1, 2 or 3.
• Red (Match game) - Get Toad to the end of the level, hit flag when the last digit of the time ends in 4, 5, 6 or 7
• Gold (Star reward) - Get Toad to the end of the level, hit flag when the last digit of the time ends in 8 or 9

Note: In multiplayer, you can make a Mushroom House appear using the a similar timing method. Hit the flag when the time digits end in 00,11,or 22 for a green house; 33, 44, 55, 66, 77 or 88 for a red house; or 99 for a gold house.

If you get 99 lives, the maximum number of lives in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario will lose his hat! Once you beat a level with a full 99 count, Mario will appear hat-less on the map screen and in subsequent gameplay. You'll regain your hat once you lose a single life.

Fulfilling special tasks will award you stars on your save file. Basically, this unlockable shows you how to get various stars on your file. It shows you how to get a;; 5 stars, and shows you how to get sparkling stars.

World 1: 1-3 contains an alternate route that leads to the World-5 Cannon on the world
map. To find it, leap from Yoshi just above the ceiling with the hidden tunnel and dash
along the top to the right to find the warp pipe.
World 2: 2-6 contains an alternate exit that leads to a cannon on the world map, which can
blast you to World 5. Here's how to find it: Near the end of the level is a rep pipe high
above that can warp you to the hidden flag pole, but it requires both the use of a
Propeller Suit as well as the P-Switch a little ways before. Upon reaching the P-Switch,
wait nearby for a few moments until the Pink-block on the track moves further up the
track. Once it has, hit the switch, then make a mad dash toward the pipe by leaping from
the pink-block to a series of newly formed blocks, just below the pipe--propeller from
them (before they revert to coins!) into the pipe above to find the alternate exit.

World 3: The Ghost House contains a secret exit that leads to a cannon on the world map,
which will blast you to World 6. Here's how to find it: When you reach the room with the
rope running along the ceiling, follow the rope so you're just above the left-most
position of the first moving platform (that is, where it's positioned when it's moved all
the way left). Now wait for it to move away and drop off the rope--don't worry! You'll
hand in a hidden area below, containing a door. Now just follow the rest of the level to
the secret flag pole.

World 4: The Ghost House conceals an alternate route which will allow you to head straight
for the world's final castle, as well as hit-up a Gold Toad House along the way. To do so,
head to the ghost house's second room, where you'll find the raising and lowering
platforms. When you reach the one just below an item box, wait for it to drop completely,
revealing a hidden door. Head on through then proceed through the last door of the area to
find the secret flag pole!

World 5: There's a hidden route inside the ghost house that, when taken, allows access to
the cannon on the world map that'll blast you to World 8. So here's how you find it:
Inside the Ghost House's first room, drop down the first shaft, jump the second, climb the
stairs and jump the third. Drop down the shaft at the otherwise dead-end, then drop down
the gap just beyond to find a door. Ignore the door and head left through a fake wall to
find a second door. Head on through--this will eventually lead... 

Note: This only works for 2,3,or 4 players NOT 1.


To do this POW block-hitting-like jump, you and your friends have to ground pound and hit the ground while ground pounding at the SAME time. In other words, when multiple characters ground-pound at the same moment, a burst of energy defeats all on- screen enemies on the ground.

In order to get world 9, you have to beat the game. So, get all the star coins in a world to unlock a level ( there are only 8 levels in world 9).

How to unlock a red, green, or gold (for Star Mario) mushroom house at the beginning of a world. But in World 1, it'll be right after Princess Peach's castle.

Notice: When you get fireworks when you complete a level that'll be your signal that you'll get a mushroom house.

When playing multiplayer you can steal your teamates' turn in the Red Mushroom House match game by performing a ground pound on him (jump and the press DOWN).

With at least two human players you can perform a special double ground pound that has the ability to kill all nearby enemies much like a POW block. You'll need to time your ground pound (press JUMP then DOWN) so both players hit precisely at the same moment.

While riding on a Yoshi, jump on the bullets seven or eight times to get extra lives.

Kill eight enemies while using a star to get an extra life. You can keep it going until the star runs out if you are fast enough.

Kill eight enemies with a turtle shell to get an extra life. You can keep hitting the turtle shell until there are no more enemies if you run fast enough.

Jump on seven turtles to get an extra life. You can keep jumping on the turtles until there are no more to jump on if you are fast enough.

Freeze the Pokeies, then do a quick Ground Pound to get at least five extra lives.

Successfully complete the first level or any level while rescuing a captured toadstool in Single Player mode to hear end of level music from Super Mario Bros.

At the end of any stage except Bosses, touch the flag when the last two digits of the clock are the same (for example, 311, 222, 099, 111). When the flag is lowered, the old chime (for clearing a level) from Super Mario Bros. will play as you walk into the castle. Once inside, and the flag is raised, fireworks will go off corresponding with the number repeated on the clock. For example, if the time is 099, then nine explosions will be set off; however, if it is 211, only one will go off. The time will also set off other events, as stated in other cheats listed.

1 Introduction

This guide was written to help out players of the game maximize their winnings
in the Red Mushroom Houses in New Super Mario Bros Wii. Similar to Super
Mario Bros. 3 on the NES, these houses give you power ups you can use from
the world map before entering a stage. If you're having trouble beating a stage
or getting to a hidden exit or Star Coin, use of a power up could be a great
help.


2 Opening the Houses

You'll notice 1 or 2 Red Mushroom houses on the map on Worlds 1-7. These are
unlocked after beating certain stages. You can also open up extra mushroom
houses in the single player mode. In some levels Toad will be hidden in a
-Block in the stage; if you carry him to the end of the stage, on top of
getting bonus 1ups,you can unlock a mushroom house back at the beginning of the
World Map, depending on how many seconds are left at the end of the timer. The
House you'll unlock is:

0-3 seconds: Green Mushroom House
4-6 seconds: Red Mushroom House
7-9 seconds: Gold Mushroom House.

So for example, finishing a stage with 266 seconds left with Toad will open a
Red Mushroom House.

3 Explaining the Game

Boards are set up on a 3x6 grid, on a chain link fence. This gives Mario 18
panels to guess from. Simply climb up the fence to the panel you want to hit
and press 1 (or B if you're using the nunchuck Wii Remote controller setting)
to punch the block and spin it around.

You can get a variety of items, but there are also panels you want to avoid.
With 18 panels, there will be 9 matches, and 2 of those sets of panels will be
Bowser and Bowser Jr. If you get a match of father or son, the game ends early,
so you want to avoid those panels. You can get one Bowser and one Bowser Jr.
panel without the game ending, but matching either will end it.

4 The Boards

There are 6 different 'maps' for the games in each World. For the first world
you can get Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, Ice Flowers, Starmen, and Propeller
Caps. Starting from World 2 you can no longer get Super Mushrooms, but you can
get Mini Mushrooms instead. Starting from World 3, you can also get Penguin
Suits. I'll be... 

Hint Movies can be bought at Peach's Castle at the beginning of World 1. You need to collect Star Coins to buy them. There are 3 in every level (Except Mushroom Houses, etc.) Now, to be able to unlock them so you can buy them, you need to collect all 3 Star Coins in any level with them. Then, the hint movie for that level will be unlocked and you can buy it for a price.

There's a Warp Cannon World 5's Ghost House that takes you to World 8. Drop down the first gap,then jump the second.

Climb the stairs and jump the third gap. Then drop down the next one and head left through a wall to find a hidden door.

This next section is pretty tricky, but get though it and you'll unlock the final Warp Cannon in the game. And it's off to World 8!
