Giant Statue Puzzle

OK. Ive been stuck on this part since yesterday. i went online and found a guide to help me do it. but i do the whole clockwise forwards crap but it never can get through the parts. please can some one help me and tell me the exact moves to get it through. because i try doing everything and it wont work! i turn it backwards to get it through the first ceiling strut and i move it forwards but then it wont move it keeps slamming against the walls and stuff. AH! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!
