The more you help out with this guide or give me suggestions, the better it will be! Where I currently need help: Some Fire Souls seem "out-of-order" in-level, for example you encounter the one the game identifies as 2 before you find 1, so any of these switched Fire Souls you notice. Any errors. If there is an easier way to get a Fire Soul, tell me. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Special Thanks: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ GameFAQs.com, BLAZEHEATNIX- (I found the Fire Souls, but didn't record the numbers to unlock certain things, so yeah, I looked them up.) Cody and Darren- Telling me how to get the last two Fire Souls in Night Palace 1. Oh well, I had to be told how to get a couple of Silver Medals in Sonic 06 also... don't tell anyone... Farid- Pointing out that in Levitated Ruin 9, the one I said was 1 was in fact 2, and vice-versa. Phelix- Easier way to get Fire Soul 2 in Night Palace 9. Kevin- Pointing out I had the Fire Souls in the wrong order for Sand Oasis 9. Someone...(I can't find their e-mail) how to jump to some of the Fire Souls in Skeleton Dome that use the spinning springs during Time Break. Pete- Another methoid for Pirate Storm ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Legal Notes: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This guide cannot be placed on any site without my permission. Remember, some Fire Souls cannot be grabbed unless you obtain a certain skill. Enjoy! 1.2: Added Unlock info for Ring Skills needed to Get Fire Souls, an easier method to get Fire Soul 2 in Night Palace 9 sent in by Phelix, also a general re-read and tweaking. 1.21: Kevin pointed out to me that I had the Fire Souls in the wrong order for Sand Oasis 9, so I fixed it. Also for the Fire Souls in Skeleton Dome that normally require Time Break to hit a spring and to find them in a cage, you can jump to the cage from a higher platform instead of using the spinning springs below, it's takes less of your Soul Gauge that way. 1.22: I noticed I messed up the numbering for Sand Oasis 9 after I fixed the order, also a little comment about how all Fire Souls are easier to see during Time Break. 1.23: I small error I noticed for Levitated Ruin 9, Fire Soul 3, it's Fire Soul 1, not 2 that number 3 is near... Also, a much simpler way to get the 3rd Fire Soul in Pirate Storm 5, submitted by Pete. Plus since I was bored (Saturday night, but I have a bad cold and no body seems to want me to come along with them anywhere...), I re- read the entire thing and fixed up/tweaked things. And just for fun added my Wii number. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Table of Contents: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 1. Fire Soul Introduction/Tips 2. Sand Oasis 2.a. Sand Oasis 1: Go for the Goal 2.b. Fire Soul Introduction/Tips ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ These Red Fiery Rings appear in certain Missions and unlock things in Party Mode. You can easily tell if there are Fire Souls in that missions because there will be three small white lines to the right of the Mission Title representing the three Fire Souls in that Mission. When you grab a Fire Soul, you need to finish the Mission you are in. Don't worry about dying if you have a Fire Soul, you will keep it, but don't just hit Restart from the Pause menu or you will loose it. In some Missions you can fail, like "Don't collect Pearls" and "Don't Defeat an Enemy" you can fail the mission by not meeting the Objective, but even if you get the "Mission Failed" Screen, you will still keep any Fire Souls you have found if you choose Next instead of Retry. The three Fire Souls in the Mission Select Screen appear in order, so if you only picked up one or two, you can look back to see which slot is empty on the screen and figure out roughly where in the level you need to go back to find it, or which number you need to look up in this guide. But occasionally the numbering is messed up, so be on guard. Some Fire Souls only appear and are collectable during Time Break, but usually in spots where you would normally use Time Break, or in Empty Cages during Time Break. Also some appear in objects only breakable with Speed Break. Skills Needed to Get Certain Fire Souls: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Soul Gauge- Beat Evil Foundry 1 H-Expand- Lv. 12 Splash Jump- Lv. 42 Fire Lock-on- Evil Foundry 5 Gold Medal *Sub S-Search- Lv. 44 *Slowed Search- 45 Silver Medals *Doesn't matter which one of these you get The things unlocked with Fire Souls in Party Mode: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (I got these from GameFAQs, and the numbers are close, but might be a little off based on some of my counts...) Aim! Big Crossbow: 6 Sink 'em! Pirate Ship: 12 Row! Canoe Race: 18 Reel! Battle Fishing: 24 Shadow: 30 Thrust! Bone Knight: 36 Cream: 42 Cross! Balance Race: 48 Watch out! Trap: 54 Put it out! Big Fire: 60 World Bazaar: 69 Fly! Ptero-rider: 78 Silver: 87 Spin! Propeller Race: 96 Blaze: 105 Extreme Difficulty: 114 Final X Adventure: 126 NOTE: Sometimes two Missions in the same World have the same name, don't get confused! Make sure you count down the list to the correct Mission. Tips: ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ There is a Skill that allows you to Homing Attack Fire Souls called Fire Lock-on. You receive it by getting a Gold Medal in Evil Foundry Mission 5. Beat the Clock! Some Fire Souls seem to require this ability to grab them or at least to make it easier, but this makes all Fire Souls easier to obtain. Other common Skills that Fire Souls often need are Soul Gauge, Splash Jump and Slowed Search. A list of how to get these skills appears earlier in the guide. If you are just going though a mission looking for Fire Souls, you might not want to put much speed on your Ring at all so you can search easier, but put more agility and Homing Attack increase skills and similar things that will help you reach Fire Souls easier, especially since many Fire Souls need specific Skills and it's nicer if you already have that skill equipped when you first find it. Fire Souls that are in plain sight but seem unreachable are either reachable with a spring or some other level object nearby that is often hidden itself, or you need another Ring Skill to grab it later on. Catapults sometimes have to be purposefully undershot to reach Fire Souls by having them in the up or mid position when you jerk the wiimote, or sometimes a spring, launch pad or switch has to be avoided. Sometimes, a Fire Soul seems to be placed where if you get it you will Fail the Mission. Don't worry about this, just grab the thing and fail the mission, you will still have your Fire Soul if you press the 1 button afterwards. During Collection Type Missions, such as Rampage! And Collect Rings, the Fire Souls are often near the end of the Mission and sometimes it's a challenge not to end the Mission before you reach the Fire Soul. Many Fire Souls are sneaky, look for them in: Hidden Areas, often opened up by a switch Blocks broken only by a certain group of enemies Inside Breakable Objects, including those only broken by Speed Break On Invisible Rails or above Invisible Springs(which are sometimes at the end of a rail) Out of sight but gotten by hitting a certain spring or other level object/enemy or something behind something else blocking it from view. By using the Catapult differing ways. During Time Break some will suddenly appear and are only obtainable then. As I said above, check not only areas where you would normally use Time Break, but also random empty cages. Also, all Fire Souls keep their color during Time Break and stand out like a sore thumb. Near other things in the level that are about the same color as a Fire Soul (I swear they put Fire Soul colored things in some levels on purpose) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2. Sand Oasis ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.a. Sand Oasis 1: Go for the Goal Find King Shahryar! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Ring Skill Needed: Splash Jump(Lv. 42) After a section on paths over the water, you will find a Spiky Ball floating over a switch. Carefully press the switch and two high pillars rise up. You need to use Splash Jump to get over them, then use a quick Jump Cancel to land on top. A line of enemies will appear up there, Homing Attack to the Fire Soul. FS #2: Inside the fiery building, clearly seen floating in the air above flames surrounded by pearls. FS #3: After Shahra says "Just past that pier is the town", there is a bridge with two brown paths. If you look between the paths, there is a lower rail below. Jump down and land on that rail and an invisible spring at the end of it will send you into a Fire Soul. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.b. Sand Oasis 2: Diehard Challenge Don't get Defeated! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Defeat the very first enemy in the mission, and a block will open to your right revealing a spring to the Fire Soul. FS #2: Room with fire pillars circled by spiky balls, it's in front of the second fire. FS #3: Clearly seen in the middle of the ramp with spiky balls falling down. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.c. Sand Oasis 5: Special Challenge Don't Break the Jar! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Clearly seen to the left on top of a jar after the fire room. (Try jumping over it then a Jump Cancel, don't worry if you break the jar and fail the mission, you'll still have it.) FS #2: On the edge of the path where you have to jump and hit two purple enemies over the water. FS #3: Appears out of the magic rocks in front of the Goal when you defeat the last three enemies. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.d. Sand Oasis 6: Diehard Challenge Don't get Defeated! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Before the first enemy to the left, there are two jars in front of a spiky ball and a jar behind it. Break the jar behind it to find the Fire Soul. FS #2: After crossing that dangerous water gap with disappearing enemies... there is a rail to your right with a spiky ball on the end, grind it and well run into the spiky ball while getting it... so what? FS #3: Water's edge, to the far left on the other side of a spike trap. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.e. Sand Oasis 9: Special Challenge Break 5 jars! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Tip: Don't break the first 5 jars, the Fire Souls are found further into the Mission. FS #1: Clearly seen in a cage surrounded by spikes. FS #2: Clearly seen in a ring of pearls in a spike trap. FS #3: Section with cages on top of stones behind fire pillars, in the fourth cage. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2.f. Sand Oasis 10: Collect Rings Collect 99 Rings! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Don't collect first 99 Rings. Also this level loops, but it also has identical sections, so it doesn't end as soon as you think it does, the last two Fire Souls are really deep into the mission. FS #1: Clearly see above path floating in pearls. FS #2: First flame pillar section, between the third and fourth ones. FS #3: Second flame pillar section, to the left of the last one. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3. Dinosaur Jungle ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.a. Dinosaur Jungle 1: Go for the Goal Follow the Pterosaur! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: When the path splits, go to the left and don't hit the boost ramp. When you get to the first flower enemy, after you defeat it you will see a jump carpet up ahead, Jump on that one and then the next one to jump high enough to see a Fire Soul in a cage, just keep using Homing Attack on the carpet to jump high enough to lock-on to and Homing Attack the cage. FS #2: Not long after Fire Soul 1, you will see a genie enemy on top of a little green platform. Homing Attack it and two other enemies to break a magic block on another platform up ahead. It reveals a catapult you have to Homing Attack to. Activate the catapult while in the lowest position to get the farthest jump. You will automatically bounce off a bunch of things and end up hitting a Fire Soul on top of a jump carpet. FS #3: Log ride in the cave, clearly see up ahead between two rock pillars. You will probably get hit by spiky balls soon after getting it, but you'll still have it if you fall into the water and die. You might have to try to get it more than once. If you have your Soul Gauge, Time Break can help. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.b. Dinosaur Jungle 2: Diehard Challenge Don't get Defeated! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Log ride in the cave, far left by a rock pillar with a spiky ball circling it. You will probably fail the mission because the ball will probably hit you, but don't worry! FS #2: Clearly seen floating in the air beyond a log, it's on an invisible rail, so just jump for it. FS #3: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge You will come to two enemies in front of an empty cage. Use Time Break to reveal a hidden Fire Soul in the cage. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.c. Dinosaur Jungle 5: Rampage! Defeat 10 Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Tip: Back Step Ring Skill required to finish level. FS #1: Helpful Skills: H-Expand and similar, Fire Gaze, Fire Lock-on. After the first couple of enemies, there are a couple of Winged Treasure Chests. Smash the second one, then carefully jump until you lock-on to a high cage with a Fire Soul in it. You don't have to try to jump to the small platform to your right. There is a tendency to fall off after smashing this cage and it's a little far of a jump, so it's best to have a H-Expand or similar skill and use a Jump Cancel after smashing the cage, Fire Gaze to smash the cage, or have Fire Lock-on Skill. FS #2: At the boost ramp after Fire Soul 1, jump clear over it instead of on it to find a hidden spiral path with a Fire Soul. FS #3: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge(Beat Evil Foundry 1) First, make sure to Homing Attack up three springs with spikes on the other side to a switch high above under a Winged Treasure Chest, you need to hit this switch to make the dinosaur up ahead move and change the path. After the dinosaur, there are a bunch of little rocks on the path, use Speed Break in front of the last rock to reveal a Fire Soul. You might want to plan on canceling Speed Break very quickly in case Sonic speeds past it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.d. Dinosaur Jungle 6: Stealth Attack Don't Defeat Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: When you are in the first Air Launcher, get out of it when the hoop is big so you don't end up jumping into the second one. Land below and when you are on the dinosaur you will see the Fire Soul over the Fire Genie. You will have to attack the genie to get it, but if you just attack it once, you will not fail the mission since it is a multi-hit enemy. FS #2: Above the first flower enemy, go ahead and attack the flower. FS #3: First carefully hit the switch under Fire Soul #2 the flower is on to change the path ahead. Further into the Mission following this path, you will be in a very tricky Air Launcher pointing straight up. High above it is a Rich Ring(huge silver ring) and an enemy. If you launch out of it too soon, you just simply won't go high enough and end up back into the launcher, but if you activate it when the launcher is very tight and go too high you will kill the enemy and fail the mission. So launch yourself when the launcher is almost but not quite the smallest so you grab the Rich Ring and not kill the enemy. When you get that Rich Ring, a spring appears in the launcher and you fall down into it through a bunch of rings that suddenly appear. Later on, when you land on the green platform with winged treasure chest up ahead, you just simply need to go backwards a bit to hit a Fire Soul behind you. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.e. Dinosaur Jungle 9: Special Challenge Smash 5 Genie Eggs! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: First catapult, launch it from the ground. FS #2: After the first log ride in the Flying pot, get off of it below the spring to go on the lower path. First log ride after that, it's behind the first rock, to the left. Remember you can break through that rock to get to it. FS #3: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on Second log ride after the flying pot, make sure to tilt the wiimote to the left to get on the left-most path. When on the dinosaur a group of enemies appear, Homing Attack them to reach the Fire Soul, Fire Lock-on Skill helps a lot here, but you can get it without that skill if you are careful. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3.f. Dinosaur Jungle 10: Special Challenge Get the Pterosaur Egg! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: First Log Ride, behind the rock to the far left, smash through the rock to grab it. FS #2: After the first log ride in the Flying pot, get off of it below the spring to go on the lower path. Second log ride after that, make sure to tilt the wiimote to the right to get on the right hand path. When you get to the catapult, make sure to undershoot it by firing from the up position to land on the platform with the Fire Soul. FS #3: Required Ring Skill: Soul Gauge(Beat Evil Foundry 1) After the first log ride in the Flying pot, get off of it below the spring to go on the lower path. Second log ride after that, make sure to tilt the wiimote to the LEFT to get on the left hand path. (you should loop back through here after getting Fire Soul #2 also.) There will be a huge cactus in the middle of the path, use Speed Break in front of it, then cancel quickly and backtrack to get the Fire Soul if you have to. If you don't, you might have to loop through the level again! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4. Evil Foundry ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.a. Evil Foundry 1: Go for the Goal Head for the Center! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on First enemy in the mission is a giant robot. Jump onto the barrels in front of it. Then wait until the enemy is closest to you, then jump and Homing Attack it. When you bounce off the enemy, you will see the Fire Soul above it surrounded by pearls. It's a lot easier to grab with Fire Lock-on skill. FS #2: After the first hallway with fans and stuff, there is a giant robot enemy. Attack it from high up on a pillar to make it fall down, and a nearby pillar will also fall down, revealing a spring leading to a Fire Soul. I think you can also use Splash Jump to reach it before the pillar falls down. FS #3: Not long after Fire Soul 2, you will come to a gap crossed by two rails, there is a lower part of the level below. You need to get on the right-most rail, I find it easier just to jump to it than to try to get on it from the left rail. At the end of that rail is a spring and another rail, beyond that is a giant robot enemy. Either jump on the enemy's head from the rail, or from the barrels next to the rail. When the enemy falls down, it will bridge a gap with a Fire Soul in it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.b. Evil Foundry 2: Diehard Challenge Don't get Defeated! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: At the very beginning, jump on a series of robot enemies up to a Jump Carpet, then from the Carpet to a Fire Soul in a cage. (hint, sit her for a few seconds for something else...) FS #2: When the little furnaces fall onto your path, it's underneath the third one. Ouch! Touch the furnace near the Rich Ring to grab it... or better yet get on the rail and grab it before the furnaces fall down if you can. FS #3: When running up the wall toward the Goal, it appears in the very last spiky obstacle as it moves upward, so you have to plan on running smack into it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.c. Evil Foundry 5: Beat the Clock! Find the Exit in Time! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Tip: You have 180 seconds Also, get a Gold Medal here to get the Fire Lock-on Skill! FS #1: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge After the ledge part (or if you skipped the ledge part with the secret shortcut...) In the large room, get past the first gap. Now listen carefully! Use Jump Cancel to land on top of the two Rich Pearls, then quickly charge up a jump and before letting the jump go hit Time Break! While slowly sailing through the air wait until the red marker appears, than Homing Attack the enemy, then quickly go for the hanging debris behind it to reach the Fire Soul. If you don't activate Time Break from this far back, the debris will fall before you can get to it, putting this Fire Soul out-of-reach. FS #2: Above two enemies in the narrow red hallway, just attack the enemies to get it. FS #3: Last Air Launcher, clearly seen up ahead. Launch just as the launcher is at it's tightest. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.d. Evil Foundry 6: Stealth Attack Don't Defeat Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on In the air above an enemy after the first spiral staircase. Jump from the higher barrels to reach it. Don't worry if you end up smashing the enemy. FS #2: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge After the dangerous spiky air launcher part... there is an empty cage below an enemy and behind another spinning enemy. It's best to try to first break the cage (hard to do because you are more likely to hurt the enemy first and fail the mission) or have a lot of Soul, because you need to use Time Break to expose a hidden Fire Soul in that cage and have Time Break last long enough to break the cage and then grab the Fire Soul. FS #3: Among the pillars before you reach the Goal, there are three switches. Press all three to make Winged Treasure Boxes appear. Homing Attack up them to reach a Flying Pot with a Fire Soul hidden inside. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.e. Evil Foundry 9. Rampage! Defeat 20 Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Obviously don't defeat the first 20 when getting these. FS #1: Second hallway full of hot fans, to the left of the second fan. FS #2: After Fire Soul 1 and in a room with a giant robot, you will find a catapult. Fire it from the lowest position, and then don't land too carefully and fall down a hole to a room below. When you land, simply back up to find a Fire Soul behind you. FS #3: Not far after Fire Soul 2, after hitting one of three springs, you will see a huge gap spanned by a rail with more of the level below. Hit the first enemy to start grinding the long rail, and eventually near the end you will see a Fire Soul floating in the air. It is actually on an Invisible Rail, to grab it attack the last enemy that appears in this area to land on the rail. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 4.f. Evil Foundry 10. Collect Rings Collect 99 Rings! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you want to make it far enough to get the Fire Souls, avoid the Rings like a madman, that might actually take very careful maneuvering, especially for the last one... FS #1: First hallway with rails and doors, it's behind the second to the last spiky door before the end of the hallway, the left hand side. FS #2: Helpful Ring Skills: H-Expand, Turbo Jump After the room full of treasure chests, you will come to three springs. Hit the right-most spring then do a quick Jump Dash to land on a narrow platform with an enemy. Attack that enemy, then charge up a jump so you can hit the next enemy up ahead, repeat and then finally you will make it to the other side where a Fire Soul is waiting for you. FS #3: Helpful Ring Skill: Hard Brake (I think) HARMFUL Ring Skill: Grind Speed Enhancers. Hard to get! It's at the very end of the looped course, you will even see it behind you when you first start. Before you reach the goal of this course, you first need to avoid a ton of Rings to get this far. On top of that, it's frustrating because if you hit the Goal, the Mission ends and on top of that there are Rich Rings near the Fire Soul, so you need to have a really low number of Rings. Finally, you will find yourself coming off a Boost Ramp and on an Invisible Rail. You need to BRAKE LIKE CRAZY to fall off the rail and fall down below just in front of the Fire Soul, keep the brake pressed down, then back up away from the Goal. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5. Levitated Ruin ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.a. Levitated Ruin 1: Go for the Goal Find Sinbad! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: In the area where Shahra says "Watch out for those spikes, Sonic!" are several rails. Try to get on the left-most set of Rails, you will have to charge a jump and Homing Attack an enemy at one point, to reach a higher area with a switch. Hit the switch to make a spring appear that will send you into a Fire Soul. FS #2: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge When you land after getting Fire Soul 1 or just simply going through the level the normal way, you will be trapped in a room with a gargoyle. Defeat the gargoyle first, then use Time Break in the room, you will see a Fire Soul appear on the pedestal the gargoyle was sitting on. FS #3: After the first time chasing the gargoyle through the air, you will come to one set of rails, then some enemies in front of a magic stone, IGNORE THEM! Go past here to the next set of rails, the Fire Soul is on a rail to the far left. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.b. Levitated Ruin 2: Rampage! Defeat 1 Enemy! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Behind where you start, so just backtrack. FS #2: In the air, you will probably hit it as you swing the rope. FS #3: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on(EF5 Gold Medal) Near the 1 enemy in this mission after you jump off the rope at full swing. I would highly recommend Fire Lock-on, I got it without it somehow, but it's really hard to! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.c. Levitated Ruin 5: Special Challenge Open Sinbad's Cage! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on(EF 5 Gold) Clearly seen below a rope in the second tower. I would recommend jumping at the rope, but waiting for Fire Lock-on to home in on the Fire Soul instead of the rope. FS #2: In the third tower, there is a switch between two spiky balls. Jump over the first ball then use a Jump Cancel to land on the switch. A spring will appear and send you into a series of Air Launchers facing straight upwards, make sure to especially launch the third one as far as possible to get a Fire Soul. FS #3: It's on the side of the wall outside the fourth tower. Use the catapult, you have to be careful and fire it at mid-level when the giant spiky ball is not in the way and you might have to back up some once you land. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.d. Levitated Ruin 6: Diehard Challenge Don't get Defeated! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge Make sure to open a treasure chest to get Pearls. After the first narrow ledge there is a switch that activates a spring. Before hitting this switch, use Time Break and the spring that appears on the switch will send you into a hidden Fire Soul. FS #2: Easily seen in front of a spiky ball after getting Fire Soul 1. FS #3: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Gaze A little tricky... what you need to do is actually go back to the beginning of the level, to do that jump over the switch near Fire Soul 2, then when you get to the switch that sent you into Fire Soul #1 jump over it instead! There is a spring/switch on the side of the wall, Homing Attack that to make enemies and a new spring appear at the very bottom of the tower. Attack the enemies carefully, it's best to use Fire Gaze here because of the other spring and hit the spring that is under them. Now you will be in an air launcher, launch strongly out of it to get the Fire Soul. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.e. Levitated Ruin 9: Rampage! Defeat 20 Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: (Note, you actually see it further in the level than 2) Immediately after chasing the second gargoyle through the air (the one with the purple path), move backwards until you hit the Fire Soul. FS #2: (Note, you actually see this one before 1) First rip-cord to the far left, you need to tilt the wiimote back and fourth to get enough momentum to lean that far over to get it. You might have to try a few times. FS #3: A little further down the path from Fire Soul 1, clearly seen on the far left on top of a pedestal. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 5.f. Levitated Ruin 10: Beat the Clock Finish Within 90 seconds! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Required Ring Skill: Soul Gauge Defeat the first group of enemies to collect Pearls, then you will come to a small tan cracked rock, activate Speed Break in front of it to bust it open. FS #2: Very Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on In the tower, clearly seen in the air after defeating two enemies. If you have Fire Lock-on, it's simple to grab, or you can precisely time a Jump Cancel. FS #3: Very Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on Higher in the tower, clearly seen floating above a spiky ball. Charge up a jump to get it, Fire-lock On will allow you to Home in on it easier without hitting the spiky ball. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6. Pirate Storm ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6.a. Pirate Storm 1: Go for the Goal! Follow the Pirates! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: First narrow path over the water, clearly seen on a small box, just do a small jump and use a Jump Cancel to land on it. FS #2: Helpful Ring Skill: Fire Lock-on Catapult on first pirate ship. Fire the catapult in the middle position to land on the crow's nest. Then hit the spring, jump on the rail and charge a jump while on the rail to jump over a spiky ball with a Fire Soul hovering over it. FS #3: After the "no traction" section, inside the ship, defeat enemies to make a magic rock on the far left open to reveal a Fire Soul. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6.b. Pirate Storm 2: Head to Head Beat Uhu to the Goal! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Tip: If focusing on Fire Souls, don't worry about beating him to the goal. FS #1: Three springs next to the water, hit the right-most spring to send you into the Fire Soul ahead. FS #2: After defeating a group of three enemies to get over an obstacle, it's on the ground on the other side of the obstacle. FS #3: Ring Skill Needed: Splash Jump(Lv. 42) Shortly after getting two and waiting for the barrel to cross the water, you will come to a switch. Don't press it to lower a section of the path ahead, instead Jump Dash into the wall ahead to use Splash Jump to get to the top to grab this high Fire Soul. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6.c. Pirate Storm 5: Rampage! Defeat 20 Enemies! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FS #1: Very Helpful Skill: Fire Lock-on In the air after defeating the first three enemies. FS #2: Ring Skill Needed: Soul Gauge The very tricky sharp fan part! Use Time Break here and you will see a hidden Fire Soul in the middle of this fan section. FS #3: Required Ring Skills: Fire Lock-on (very difficult without it) Helpful Ring Skills: Soul Gauge, Splash Jump Two methods, the first one submitted by Pete (simpler, but I didn't think of it *sweatdrop* After the tricky fan part and stuff, the first gate you get to has a Flying Treasure chest on the other side, three enemies, and a Fire Soul. Method 1: Hit the switch, then jump on top of the gate before the gate completely comes down to the ground so you are high enough to Homing Attack the Treasure Chest, then the enemies beyond. Have Fire Lock-on equipped so you can easily get the Fire Soul. Method 2: Splash Jump the gate without opening it, use a Jump Cancel to land on top of it, then Homing Attack the treasure box, enemies and Fire Soul. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6.d. Pirate Storm 6: Hands Off Finish with 0 Rings! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (This mission is freaky, there are four Fire Souls, two of them BOTH count as number 1? I'll have to look into this a little more, maybe the Goal appears on a looped level later on or something... I wonder if other levels are like this, maybe I described one later in the level you can pick up earlier, who knows.) FS #1: After the first group of enemies, on the path ahead in front of a fire. AND before the Goal, seen clearly on the ground. (it doesn't matter which one you pick up, if you pick up the first one, the second one later in the level disappears.) FS #2: S |
