How do i get king author in battle mode?

In sonic in the black knight im trying to beat sir lancealot (shadow the hedgehog) a 2nd time but he keeps attacking me and i have no time to block his attack so is there like a another way to beat him and kick his sorry ***?!

I dont know if this is a glitch or not but is there any way to do a light speed dash in the game, if there is tell me how to do it!

+mode: defeat the most soldier-ones
+p1: sir galahad/p2: blacksmith (not controlled by anyone)
+p1: full sg, 100 rings, 5 lives/p2: empty sg, 50 rings, 3 lives
+area: crystal cave
+glitch: sir galahad kept swing...
