*Game Premise*
A fantastic sequel to the Wii's Super Mario Galaxy with more levels
full of new challenges, some new items, and lots of fun!
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M3.3]
*Decoding My Directions*
There's not really much to say here. Compass directions are not very
relevant to the game, so I only use left/right and up/down as common
directions.
Sometimes I have a habit of using "#x", meaning number of times (e.g.
2x= 2 times) as a shortform to move or do something that many times.

[M3.4]
*Bare Bones Guide*
Players looking for a challenge can try beating the game themselves
by using these basic tips.

2) Access the galaxies through the World Map.
3) Explore all plausible areas.
4) Check back with previous galaxies for Comets.
5) Talk to Mailtoad for letters from Luigi.

[M6.1]
*Prologue*
After starting a new file and watching the initial cinema, you will
get control of Mario. Collect the Star Bits & some coins (and jump
on some Toad heads if you feel up to it), then head right past the
pipe to a new area with a white Luma, who will soon join you. Head
right some more, spinning the Wii remote into the crystals for more
Star Bits. Head right into the castle where pandemonium ensues...
Eep, that's a big Bowser! Head forward towards him, where you'll see
that he's already captured the pathetically feeble Princess Peach. So
much for that cake I wanted :oP Head forward towards the castle to
meet up with two yellow Lumas and learn that your white Luma pal is a
Master Luma. *All hail*. Use the Launch Star they create to move
along.

[M6.21]
*Sky Station Galaxy*
#1- Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum
When you arrive, collect coins & Star Bits in the flowers & from the
Goomba here. Use the red pipe at left to get a 1-Up, then return
back. Use the green pipe at left now to continue to a new area.
Collect more stuff, including the ? box at right. Head along right
to a ramp at the middle platform, spin at the crystal & fall in the
hole to the roof of the last area's platform. Talk to the 2nd Luma
("Over here!") and use its Launch Star. Follow the Luma, avoiding
the rock-spouting enemies, and head up, then right. Use the
yellow platform up, then another up & right (they disappear after a
little while). Backflip to the 1-Up, timing it right with the
platform, then to the checkpoint flag.
At the back is a ? coin to reveal musical notes. Follow them along
and right to 3 1-Ups (get the rightmost one first). Spin at the
rocks for more Star Bits, then go past the platform to the bonus
portal. Stand on it & shake to reach the bonus area. Use the
Rainbow Star to knock off all the enemies for 3 1-Ups in the middle.
Back in regular play, climb up the platform you passed, up to the
pillar & ride the yellow platforms to the Launch Star.
Jump right to the grey planet & use the Sling Star, ignoring the
first Launch Star, then use the bottom Sling Star to get lots of
coins. Ride it over again to the Launch Star, then to the
Checkpoint Flag. Avoid the muddy pits and approach the circular
rotating platform. Ride it around for a 1-Up, then long jump across
to the right & spin the crystal for another 1 -Up. Ride the 2nd
rotating piece around to get the Comet Medal. Long jump over the
quicksand, then up to the Luma and its Launch Star.
At the new area, go up the grey platform & nab the Life Mushroom,
which ups your health meter to 6. Hit the Checkpoint Flag, then
go up all the way to the top of the planet. Go around the middle
platform for a 1-Up, then climb up & use the Launch Star to crash
into your first boss.
Avoid his front end & spin at the egg to crack it, revealing a
red balloon bottom. After 3 spins, he will restart & go at it
again, this time faster. Search him out as he runs around &
keep spinning at the backside to earn the star.
You'll arrive on a planet & meet a new purple creature who will
help in your quest to...what else?...save Peach. Pick either
choice 2x, and the planet transforms into a huge...head?!? This
is your ship, which resembles Luigi more than Mario, despite its
"M" hat. You can explore it a bit, but more is to come later.
At the topmost part is the wheel and a pedal. Step on it to
reach the World Map, which shows all worlds & galaxies, plus
your star & Comet Medal progress along the way. You'll see...
Head down back to Sky Station Galaxy to continue.
#2- Storming the Sky Fleet
Back in the same planet but there's more rolling heads...yeah.
The bulbs from SMG are back & they will (illogically) squish the
little cannonballs. Use the green pipe at left to reach the
2nd area with new treasure chests. Spin at the green bulbs to
finish off the enemies & open a chest with a Rainbow Star to
destroy them faster & eventually reveal a key, freeing a
trapped Luma. Use its Launch Star.
Don't worry...it's glass :oP Walk upwards, avoiding the huge
Banzai Bills, then right to an opening. Drop through to the
Checkpoint Flag, then right & down. Drop into nothingness and
onto a platform. Nab the 1-Up at left, then backtrack down
again. Use the moving platforms, then right over the energy
ball & right to the enemy. Right is another moving platform
to take, then right even more to another enemy. Backflip to
the bonus portal (if you want to use it, go ahead--it's the
same deal for 3 1-Ups). Ride the platform to the Launch Star
between 2 energy balls, timing your jump, then hit the
Checkpoint Flag.
Step on the blue tiles to turn them all yellow (a safe pattern
is up 2, right 1, up 1, left, up, then jump left & down). Get
the 1-Up behind the Banzai Bill, then head left to another set
of tiles with a clone. Drat...Follow the path right, then up
& left, around to the end. Use the Launch Star & Checkpoint
Flag. Avoid the Banzai Bill, long jump over the mud, and
up to the trapped star. What to do? Go left past the bulb,
all the way to the spiked piranha. Spin into the bulb to
hit it & get a key, which frees the star. Backtrack, using
the hiding spots to avoid the Banzai Bill, right to the Star.
Return to the World Map & head to the next galaxy.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M6.22]
*Yoshi Star Galaxy*
#1- Saddle Up With Yoshi
Head up & over the mud, using the left side ramp to avoid some
enemies. Step on the springboard to meet a Magikoopa. Step
on the stones to avoid getting stuck in the mud & stomp on the
Magikoopa to free the Yoshi egg. Jump on the egg to free Yoshi
in a cute intro cinema. Ride Yoshi to the green hill at left
and use the springboard, then float with A to reach the Comet
Medal at the hill's peak.
Head up on the right side of the area through the muddy parts
and the dead end, using the bonus portal there if you wish.
Like the sign says, grab hold of the large fruit with Yoshi's
tongue & pull back on the Control Stick to get the Launch
Star, then the Checkpoint Flag.
Spin the Chance Cube by shaking at it to reveal a coin, 1-Up
or enemy, then find & use the Launch Star to reach a rather
large planet. Use a spingboard against the mountain to
head up. At the spiky plants, jump & float over them with
Yoshi, and head around to the steps. At the top, you'll
reach more spiky plants, then to the springboard, and at
the peak, defeat all enemies to continue.
Aim & press B to swing from the airborne flower to reach
the next planet & a Launch Star. A complicated area
follows...Head up & use the Checkpoint Flag, then left,
using the swinging flowers, floating for insurance if
you need it. Target & pull back on the handle to
reveal the platform. Head along, then left, and if you
want to get the coins above you, swing on the flower,
float upwards to them (or dismount in midair if you want).
If you lose Yoshi, check the nearby nest. Use the flower
to reach the next top level. Use the moving platforms,
spinning at the spiders. To get the 1-Up, pull the handle
on the platform. Swing on the flowers up & left to the
next platform.
Use the left flower, up, then a series of them, going up.
Ignore the very top left flowers (that comes later); instead
going right to the crystal with the star. Spin 2x to get
it...but it tricks you! Swing on the flowers, starting with
the closest one, then float up to the star.
New galaxies open up & Yoshi is now stationed on your ship.
If you want, head down & around to the face, then backflip
onto the nose to find Yoshi. Swing right on the flowers to
a platform with some Star Bit-filled fruit & a 1-Up. Too
bad that Yoshi can't enter a galaxy with you from here :o(
Head back to Yoshi Star Galaxy.
#2- Spiny Control
It's Attack of the Lakitu! Jump over the Spinies for now
& upwards to get Yoshi from the egg. Head upwards to the
top level of the area where the Lakitu is on the prowl.
You can defeat it with a Spiny using Yoshi's tongue, a
technique that you'll soon use. Target the Spiny to
curl it into a ball, then target again to swallow, aim
with the red arrow by facing your new target, then press
B (trigger button) to destroy the glass balls around the
area. If you want, there's 1-Up in the upper right area
by the mud. The one you definitely want to break is near
the green hill with the Launch Star.
Use the Checkpoint Flag, then go upwards along the
thinner platforms. Use the Spiny move with Yoshi to
launch them at the distant glass globes. The left &
right ones have Star Bits, but the middle one is the
main one with a Luma, who gives you a Launch Star at
right.
If you use the Launch Star in midair, you'll end up at
a different area. If you missed it, skip to the next
paragraph. Several planets offer Star Bits, coins, and
there is a 1-Up under a planet at left. Make your way
to the top middle planet with a Launch Star.
Pull back on the red handled platforms, which have a time
limit. Grab the 1-Up at right, then head along more of
these platforms. Use the Spiny at back to break the glass
& use the Launch Star. Use the Checkpoint Flag, then
propel up with the swinging flowers to the top of the
mountain to fight the King Lakitu.
Get coins from the crystals when you need to. The point
is to use the Spinies to launch at the boss. Avoid the
electricity he uses after each hit. He will move a bit
faster & throw more Spinies after the first 2 hits.
Aim where he is as soon as he lands in that spot or you'll
need to aim where he WILL be very shortly. Collect the
Star.
On the World map, head right to a Hungry Luma, who will
return with you to the ship & ask for 300 Star Bits for
a new galaxy. You should have that amount, even if you're
not a big collector of them--I have about 350 at this point.
Feed him by targeting him and hold B (trigger button).
Back on the map, head down to...
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M6.23]
*Flip-Swap Galaxy*
#1- Think Before You Shake
This is a more challenging level, as are most of the
Hungry Luma levels. Spinning will switch blue/red
tiles and leave some holes. Use the red platforms
along upwards, then jump & spin upwards to blue
ones. Jump/spin to red & up again, then just jump
(DON'T SPIN!) to the next tile, then long jump to
safety.
Now there are lots of electric fields, which you'll
need to jump between with precise timing. Stand on
red, walk up & around on red, then jump/spin to blue
for a 1-Up. Head up on red, then jump/spin to blue,
then to red, then blue AGAIN (arrggh...) upwards,
then jump to the tower & a Checkpoint Flag.
Same idea coming up but cannonballs roll along a
same-coloured path. Long jump to blue, then blue
ahead & bypass the cannonball entirely...ha ha!
Make it blue, wait for the cannonball to pass,
then long jump across to the lone blue tile with
the 1-Up, then long jump again 2x to the Comet
Medal, and lastly to the crystal. Jump/spin for
red, then jump (DON'T SPIN) between electric fields,
then jump/spin to blue. Head between fields, then
j/s to red. I would long jump to the red tile to
set yourself up for an easier end. Long jump
between electric fields to the star.
A bunny shows up on the ship...whoop de doo!
On the map, head right to the crystal for Star Bits,
then backtrack up & right to a new galaxy.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M6.24]
*Spin-Dig Galaxy*
#1- Digga-Leg's Planet
New item coming up...! Head right to the Spin Drill
and spin/drill into the hole you're standing in to
the opposite side where you started. Head left a
little & spin/drill into the hole for a 1-Up, then
head back. Head around left & spin/drill in a new
hole for a bunch of coins. The hole we want is
a little one near the bottom of the planet with a
coin in it. Spin/drill to reach the top of the
tower with a Luma & Launch Star.
In this new area, grab the Spin Drill atop a sandy
platform, then stand on a similar one at left.
Spin/drill to reach a tower, then head right to the
end & spin/drill to reach the tallest tower. Before
using the Launch Star, jump right to a smaller tower
with some coins. Fall off at right for the Comet
Medal. Backtrack to the taller tower's peak & use
the Launch Star.
Use the Checkpoint Flag, then run quickly across
the yellow platform. Avoid the annoying spinning
flower enemies as you go around counter-clockwise
(right around left), using the bonus portal if
you want. Come around to the top left, then use
the frontmost platform, then jump to the backmost
platform & wait a second for the Luma to arrive
with your Launch Star.
On the next planet, head around right for a Spin
Drill. At the very bottom near the rock, spin/
drill inside the hollow part for a slew of coins,
then spin/drill in the top part, and Launch to
the Starshroom ship. Use the Luma Shop if you
can afford the 30 Star Bit cost for a 1-Up or
Life Shroom (I'd recommend the Life Shroom).
Use the Checkpoint Flag & Launch Star at the
bottom of the ship to reach Digga-Leg.
Head to the Spin Drill, then aim & spin/drill
to the glass dome holding the star when it
sits under the robot's head. After each hit,
the dome will flip to the top (unreachable)
and will send drill enemies after you. If you
hit the feet, you'll just bounce back, so keep
trying. After 3 hits, you win the star.
The map expands to 2 more galaxies and the Starshroom
ship lands near your ship. Use the warp pad in the
inside part of the left ear of the ship to reach it
and get the 1-Up. Use the bottom portal to return,
then head back to the World Map to continue.
#2- Silver Stars Down Deep
Yup, they're baaaack! Avoid the following clone
and head around to the crystalized Sling Star, spin
and use it. Bop the Piranha Plant, then use its
vine to reach a pipe. Head down to the Spin Drill
and spin/drill down to the diagonal wall that will
change your direction. Head down & to the right
side of the sandy patch where a diagonal is below
you. Spin/drill, use it, and jump over the electric
ball to the pipe. Drill with good timing to avoid
the electric balls below you. Notice that he has
a second or so pause in midair. Use the red pipe,
spin at the crystal & use the Launch Star.
On the ship, hit the Checkpoint Flag & use the next
Launch Star. Now to find the Silver Stars. Jump
off right & around the track. Find the Spin Drill
and head up with it, drilling at the corner lip
to get (1). Head left for (2), then drill to
return back. Head left now and drill on the corner
lip to head diagonally left. Drill down on the
right side to find (3), then drill & go up the
track around to a lone star (4). Drill right there
and you'll find (5). Drill back to the outside track,
then head around to find your Power star.
At the ship, you'll be taken to a museum of items,
where the Spin Drill is added. This is stored in
a cave just under the hat brim of the ship. Also,
the green Banktoad is near the World Map access
pedal in the bottom left. Deposit Star Bits with
him to add up a total of 9999 to access the comet
star of the very last level of the game. I'll
remind you again near the end of the walkthrough.
Just talk to Toad, and press/hold A on Deposit.
By the way: Banktoad also transfers your bank
total to other game files on your game disc. Sweet!
Continue to the next galaxy...
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M6.25]
*Fluffy Bluff Galaxy*
#1- Search For the Toad Brigade Captain
Get ready for a new power item! Head across the bridge, dodging
the bird enemy who tries to plop on your head, and go forward to
the tree at right. Behind it, use the pipe to find the ? coin
minigame. Grab the coin & quickly follow the paths of coins in
3 different patterns to earn a 1-Up (or more).
Near there is a platform with the cloud flower, which gives you
a new ability that allows you to create cloud platforms (up to
3). Backflip & spin to get the most height out of it, then
go left to the red-bordered platform and onto the bridge.
Head up & use the stationary clouds, then use your own cloud
up to the Checkpoint Flag. Cross the clouds by long-jumping
all the way to the platform with a Toad calling you. Wall
jump between the boxed-on wall to the Launch Star.
DON'T LOSE YOUR CLOUD! Long jump to the column of 3 coins &
use a cloud to get the Comet Medal higher up. Avoid the clones
& collect 5 Star Chips all out in the open. Once you get all 5,
the clones disappear & a Launch Star appears. Use it (of course).
In the new area, use the Checkpoint Flag, then use the cloud &
backflip to get above the wall pushers and collect a 1-Up. Head
up, then go left to refresh the cloud skill, then long jump to
the swing & jump off left, then quickly spin. Jump along the
trees to reach the Captain. Launch, then long jump to the small
mountain in the clouds. Talk to the Chimp, who will give you a
star. He will reappear throughout the game to offer you minigames
for stars.
At the museum, the cloud flower will be catalogued. Head back to
the World Map.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
[M6.26]
*Rightside Down Galaxy*
#1- Breaking the Laws of Gravity
After using the pipe automatically, you'll be underground. Head
all the way down to the red switch for coins at left, then spin
at the flower at right to meet a new enemy. Don't jump on him
until gravity changes. At right, spin the lever to flip gravity,
then continue right to the moving platform and to the big Piranha.
Wait for him to slam, then jump on him, and use the flower beyond
it.
In blue/down gravity, head right & slide to the Checkpoint Flag. In
red/up gravity, jump to the bottom moving platform to get off safely
in blue/down gravity. Spin the lever to change gravity, then backflip
onto the moving platform. HEad right & "drop up" (he he) to get the
1-Up. Head down now & right to the chute with cannonballs. Past that,
time your jumps to get by the Thwomps. To get the Comet Medal below
you, face away from the Thwomp, backflip & wall jump upside down off
the Thwomp to reach it.
Head across, boosting yourself just over the lip, then into blue/down
gravity, slide & use the Checkpoint Flag. Wall jump off the right
wall left to the Fire Flower. This is a timed skill. Spin to use
fireballs & break the crates along the bottom. Refresh the flower,
then change gravity, going red/up, break & power up, then go blue/down,
then forward to the Checkpoint Flag.
Now you're kind of away from the gravity on the green platforms. Head
along to the moving platform, over the gaps to the blue/down gravity.
When the 1st Thwomp goes up, head quickly under them all. Change in
gravity brings the same challenge. Now you're near the Star. Just
follow the gravity paths, trying to centre yourself with the Control
Stick to get the Star.
Secret Star #1- The Great Crate Incinerator
Re-enter Breaking the Laws of Gravity. This one is near the beginning.
Go along normally to the 1st flower, and spin at the lever ahead, then
backtrack left to the pipe in the upper left corner.
Get the Fire Flower & destroy the crates, especially the ones in the
upper right corner to reveal a red pipe. Take it to reach the minigame
with the robotic garbageman from SMG. Talk to him (it?), pick Sure,
and time to play! You'll start in the middle of the area with sets of
crates all over, not in any recognizable pattern. Here's a simple
strategy: Fire straight ahead, then to the right, then diagonally right,
right bottom corner, then left, then the top & bottom left corners. You
should finish with about 2 seconds left. 1 fireball will soar through
multiple crates in a row, so no need to waste time firing like crazy!
You'll earn the Star.

*Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla*
#1- Gobblegut's Aching Belly
Pass by the cheesy Bowser Jr. statues to meet new enemies, which you
can spin out of the way. Head up the blue & green Lego-like bridges,
left to the Thwomp, then backflip & spin onto its top to get the
Comet Medal. Continue left, defeat the Magikoopa, then spin the lever
at left to open the window ahead. Head up through it, jumping to the
Sling Star, and to the Checkpoint Flag.
Head up past the rotating fire bars, then left & up, and right over
the gaps. Beat the Magikoopa, then left past the bars, staying left
to find the Life Mushroom. Use the Launch Star just ahead to reach
Gobblegut.
This is your first dungeon boss & he's pretty challenging. Avoid his
head and spin at the red bulging "bellyaches" (like balls). Run around
a lot to avoid his head & wait for him to dig into the planet. You
can stand close to the body of the dragon without getting hit, but move
when his head emerges as he will charge at you. This boss is huge &
the planet is small, so that can get tough to move around, but you
need to keep moving to avoid gettng hit. Where's the arena that most
Mario bosses fight on?!?
You earn your 1st Grand Star! A portal opens up, allowing you to
access World 2. You can return to World 1 by going left on the map.
Notice that a silver crown appears at any galaxy where you have found
the Comet Medal & all the Power Stars (meaning no Comet Stars will
appear), which will turn to gold crowns once you go through the Green
Stars. Anyway...

*Puzzle Plank Galaxy*
#1- The Puzzling Picture Block
Ground pound (A&Z) on the left & right side of the big block platform
for Star Bits, then ground pound the middle block to lower the entire
thing...elevator going down!
Ground pound the top left switch & follow all the musical notes for
a bonus, then the bottom right switch for the Launch Star to continue.
Pound the tree stumps for Star Bits or coins, then follow the path of
coins, avoiding the rotating sawblades, to the underside of the planet.
On the other side of the middle platform is a pipe for a ? coin minigame.
Follow the 3 shape patterns of coins for a 1-Up. Once back above ground,
climb the towers to the top, defeat the enemy, then ground pound the
topmost platform, then the other two, until all 3 are flat & level with
the ground.
Head to the other side of the planet, climb the newly built tower, and
use the Launch Star, then hit the Checkpoint Flag. Avoid the sawblades,
and try to make it fast as your platforms are being cut down. At left,
jump to the platform with the Comet Medal to earn it.
At the green wall, wait until it forms 3 sides & wall jump between them.
Head forward quickly as the platforms are dropping off. Get the 1-Up in
plain sight and follow the thin platform with the harmless blue enemies.
Pound the red switch, then use the Sling Star.
On the small planet, use the Checkpoint Flag and Luma Shop (if you can
afford the 30 Star Bits, get the Life Mushroom). Use the Launch Star to
reach a block puzzle. Pound the star on the ends of each side not quite
lined up 3x each to complete the picture of a bug, which sends you the
mama & baby bug.
Pound the baby atop the mama, then pound the mama & you win the star.
Secret Star #1- Bugaboom's Back
Re-enter The Puzzling Picture Block. Go through the level to the small
towers where you'll find a Hungry Luma. Feed it 70 coins, then
use its Launch Star, and hit the Checkpoint Flag. Get the cloud flower,
then use a cloud & long jump/spin to reach the next platform. Do the
same thing again to reach the tree to meet a big bad bug miniboss.
Use the trampoline & your cloud move to rise above the bug, then jump to
its back & ground pound it. Avoid the water so you don't have to change
back. After 1 hit, he will rotate slightly while flying, and after 2
hits, he will rotate in 360s, flying even faster. Do the same moves
until you win the Star.
The Grand World Map will open, allowing you to navigate between worlds
from the map, and to view your progress in each of the world's galaxies.
The pink Mailtoad will appear just up from the green Banktoad. If you
see a letter icon above his head, you have mail. Peach's letters come
with 1 or 5 1-Ups, and some other goodies will be coming soon...
Back to the World Map, head up to:

*Boulder Bowl Galaxy*
#1- Rock & Rollodillo
Head up & defeat the 3 green rock-spouting enemies to reveal the rock
mushroom. Use it to roll around & slam into the pillars. Find the
big pink crystal at left & roll into it 2x for the Comet Medal.
Roll into the upright wall to knock it down, then roll forward to
knock down the enemy bowling pins. Roll again off the ramp to launch
forward to the Checkpoint Flag.
Roll around into the pink enemies & try to avoid the boulders or their
rocks. Beat all enemies in the area to reveal the Launch Star & use it.
Change into Rock Mario at left from the start. Avoid the boulders &
cannonballs, and try to long jump over the mud. Further left is a
Sling Star trapped in a pink crystal. Roll into it 2x to reach the
small planet with a Luma Shop. Use it if you want/can, hit the
Checkpoint Flag, then use the Launch Star to reach the miniboss.
Rollodillo is a knockoff from Mega Man. Roll as Rock Mario into the
blue buttocks when he stops, and avoid his spiked ball when he starts
rolling around. After 3 hits, he starts moving faster, so keep it
going, and on the 4th hit, you get the Star.
At the museum, the rock mushroom is displayed. Yay...moving on:

*Hightail Falls Galaxy*
#1- Hot-Stepping Dash Pepper
This is likely the toughest level you've faced up to now. The music
is soooo awesome (from SMW for SNES). Head up the bridge to the ramp.
Get Yoshi and follow the row of coins upwards, then use the tongue
to nab the red Dash Pepper. Yoshi will charge forward up the slope to
the top. Use the Launch Star to the next area.
This is a tough part. Use the Dash Pepper & dash up the left side,
getting the ? coin for lots of coins. If you hit any green ramps,
you'll fall back to the start of this area. Head right, weaving
between ramps to the Launch Star.
Head quickly across the platforms that crumble under you, then use
the Dash Pepper to charge ahead. Jump over the edges of each platform
so you don't hit them. A bonus portal is at right near the end with
the Launch Star.
Hit the Checkpoint Flag, then grab the Dash Pepper, up, right, around
the poles, wind right, then down & slam into the wall to slow down.
Go right over the bridge & use the Dash Pepper up over the moving
platform, past the poles, through the purple borders & straight up to
the Comet Medal. You'll likely fall & need to restart this part, but
make sure you land safely. Past the Comet Medal, head left, then around
& down. At left, swing along the flowers to a new ramp.
Dash up, left between the purple shapes, around left & down, then deek
quickly right to the star. Use Yoshi to float to it if you hit the
purple parts or try dismounting him to fly up, but that could be
risky.
You receive a letter from the Chimp, a recurring activity throughout
the game.
Head back to World 1 on the map, then to Fluffy Bluff Galaxy where a
green Chimp icon sticks out.
*Fluffy Bluff Galaxy*
#3- The Chimp's Stomp Challenge
Approach the Chimp and agree to play. The game will start immediately
after the conversation (no countdown). The trick is to jump on as many
enemies as you can in a row without hitting the ground. You start with
100 points, up to 300 points each, and 100 points for every coin.
Don't worry too much about the time, but watch your hits because you
still only get 3. When you start out, after the first group of enemies,
head left onto the water for a small group, then up & left, and end up
on the green cliff with a large circle of them. A 1-Up is atop the tree
at left for extra points as well.
Break the record of 10 000 points to win the Star.
High Score: 11 560
Stay at this galaxy for:
Secret Star #1- Every Planet Has Its Price
Re-enter Search For the Toad Bridge Captain. Collect 100 coins by
stomping enemies & searching around. Most of them will come from the ?
coin minigame in the pipe behind the 1st tree and from this next area.
Use the cloud flower to reach the tree's top, then use the Sling Star
to reach the Hungry Luma. Use the ? coin to collect more coins &
once you have 100, talk to it to feed it & use its Launch Star.
This is pretty easy. Hit the Checkpoint Flag & use your clouds to
head all the way up. The platforms are also handy & several cloud
flowers are available for you to refresh. All the way up & you get
the Star.
Head back to World 2 and re-enter:
*Hightail Falls Galaxy*
Secret Star #1- Silver Stars in Hightail Falls
Re-enter Hot-Stepping Dash Pepper. Follow the level normally,
collecting at least 30 coins (especially from the ? coin on the
2nd ramp area), all the way to the ramp-bridge 2 areas away from the
star where a Hungry Luma sits at right. Feed it 30 coins to reach the
new planet.
Use Yoshi's tongue to snag 5 Silver Stars from the blue frogs hopping
around. Once you hit a frog with a star, you need to touch it to grab
it. 5 Silver Stars = 1 Power Star.
Head forward on the map to the Hungry Luma on the map & feed it 700
Star Bits.

*Honeybloom Galaxy*
#1- Bumble Beginnings
After the vines, head up & swing right, then go along & up to the Bee
Mushroom. Avoid the water and float up with A to the Checkpoint Flag.
Fly up to the cloud, then up & over to the right to jump over the
spiked flying enemy to the Comet Medal.
Fly up & right all the way to the vines. Bounce off the big grapes to
boost your flight meter, then fly right & up to the Checkpoint Flag.
Climb the pole & go right, climbing more poles & avoiding the black
Fuzzies. Fly up more along the poles and then to the swings. Use the
vines, then to another grapey area.
Head along & right to avoid the spiky Piranha-like plants. Also avoid
the eater plants. If you step on them, don't stay too long. Float
along right until you're outside again and up to the right. Head up
more, avoiding enemies, to the Star.
A bee joins your company on the ship.
Secret Star #1- The Secret Wall Jump
Automatically swing on the vines & get all those Star Bits! Hop up to
the swing & swing right, then jump off to the wall when Mario's legs
are straight up. Wall jump all the way to the top to reach the star.

*Wild Glide Galaxy*
#1- Fluzzard's First Flight
This is a fun flying level. Talk to the little bird in front to enter
a tutorial on flying. Switch the Wiimote to your dominant hand (if
you're right-handed, use the Wiimote in your right hand) to make
things easier. Follow the visual instructions until you get green
checkmarks on each step.
Cruise along and avoid hitting walls, barriers, or spiky plants.
To get the Comet Medal, you need to fly through all 5 red archways.
(1) is straight ahead from the start; (2) is not far ahead from
there slightly left; (3) is down & ahead; (4) hug the left side; and
(5) is near the end on the slightly lower left. To find the Comet
Medal, dip down a bit, then relax the controls to sail into it.
Finish off the course by flying through the yellow archway to win
the Star.
A letter comes from Honeybee with a 1-Up for completing Honeybloom
Galaxy. Sweet...as honey :oD

*Cosmic Cove Galaxy*
#1- Twin Falls Hideaway
Head up & start swimming forward to the platforms sticking out of the
walls to grab a Koopa Shell & dive further down. The Sling Star gives
you lots of Star Bits. Keep going forward to the ? coin with coins,
and get the Comet Medal just ahead (a bit right) in the open shell.
You'll soon come to a tower with steps. Ground pound the red switch
atop it to freeze the lake. Spin to skate on the surface of the ice.
Approach the frozen twin waterfalls & wall jump between them. At
left atop the falls, spin the crystal 2x for the Star, which falls
to the right.
#2- Exploring the Cosmic Cavern
You will need to free the trapped Luma, of course. So we're looking
for a key...Skate on the ice that looks like water all the way up.
A green pipe lies to the right. Take it and pound the brick block
to slide down, then continue to swim right. Spin the crates if you
want coins. Jump over the bubble to avoid getting pulled back, then
wall jump & go right to the Checkpoint Flag.
Dive down with Z as the penguin says, then go left & keep getting
coins to refresh your air supply meter. Avoid the spiky plants
and then use the vent air to head right. Spin at the lever to
open up the floor below you.
Avoid the eels that poke their ugly heads out from the wall (ick).
Head down all the way to the pipe to the outside. Here's a part
that truly messes with gravity...Hit the Checkpoint Flag first,
then jump into the stationary water (?) and swim along the path.
Wait for the enemy to pass & nab the 1-Up below it. Head up to
the safe platform at the top to refresh your air supply, then
continue in the water to the top. Jump into the moving cube of
water, then jump to the new one, then up again to the key at left.
Use the pipe at right to head back to the beginning and free the
Luma. Use its Launch Star to move on.
On the Starshroom ship, hit the Checkpoint Flag & use the Launch
Star to...pass the Power Star?!? Drat. Avoid the purple enemies
that create an electric field around themselves. Find a Spin Drill
and use it on the long rectangular patch of soil on the bottom side
of the planet to reach the opposite side. All others will make
you bounce off the metal frame & return.
On the new side of the planet, avoid the Mechani-Koopas, driling
them if you want to. Find a soil patch with water leaking out
of it. Drill that & you'll flood the planet into a water sphere
that defies all rules of physics...! Swim up to the platform
with the star.
Now a penguin has joined the ship's company.
Secret Star #1- Catch That Star Bunny
Re-enter Twin Falls Hideaway. A Hungry Luma awaits by the tower a ways
ahead from the beginning of the level. You need 15 coins. Each enemy
brings you 1 coin, plus there are several coins in bubbles underwater,
and the ? coin brings a string of coins. If you're still short, freeze
the lake and get the 3 coins near the small waterfall at right.
Feed the Hungry Luma 15 coins to use its Launch Star. Hit the Checkpoint
Flag, then talk to the bunny a step away from it. Tag time! The planet
is very holey, so watch your step. Just left of the Checkpoint Flag is
a blue ! switch. Pound it & the planet will freeze, allowing you to
temporarily skate, which speeds up the chase. If you run out of time,
the ice melts & you'll need to reset the switch.
When you catch the bunny, you win the Star.
Head right on the map to the 2nd dungeon.

*Bowser's Lava Lair*
#1- Bowser's Big Lava Power Party
A more sophisticated dungeon, I may say. Head up & beat the Magikoopa
to reveal a Pull Star. Aim with the Wii remote & press/hold A to
reach the next area. Jump between the fireballs & on the moving
platforms to the trampoline. Pound it to continue.
Backflip & spin over the ring of fireballs, then ride the platforms,
nabbing the Life Mushroom if you can. Spin the crystal, then use
the Launch Star.
Hit the Checkpoint Flag, then go up to a big pool of lava with the
spinning platforms. Time it well to avoid getting flipped. A safe
platform sits at right, then further up is a Hammer Bro to defeat.
Beat it, then use the Sling Star.
Jump atop the rotating firebar platform to use the ? coin, then walk
around the circle of coins for a 1-Up. Pound the switch just up from
there to lower yourself to the next area. Use the spinning platforms
to reach a green carpeted area with wall slammers from SM64. Wait for
them to fall, then pound the cracked star on its back. Head right &
after beating the enemy, triple jump & spin to reach the Comet Medal
high above your head.
Head right to the golden ball & pound the star's centre, aiming for
the stone lock with the red Bowser on it. You'll be pulled forward
to a new area. Hit the Checkpoint Flag, then carefully navigate the
floor being eaten away by the piranha-like enemies. Head up & ride
the purple moving platform right, grabbing the Life Mushroom atop the
rotating firebar platform. You'll go up, right, defeating the
Magikoopa, then right to safety.
Ride the next purple platform, jumping over the electric beams from
the Bowser statues, then up to the Hammer Bros., who you can ignore.
Hit the Checkpoint Flag and get the Life Mushroom from the left pole
to refresh or get a 1-Up. Pound the golden ball, aiming & firing at
the 3 stone Bowser locks, pulling yourself into the Bowser fight.
After the chat, you'll reach a small planet where Bowser will send
stone balls on your head. Ignore the lights that appear, then he
will pound the ground. Jump on a golden ball & pound it, aiming for
Bowser (anywhere but his spiked shell) quickly before they turn to
stone & crumble. After 2 hits, he will add a fiery breath attack.
Again, run away from the light and jump on, then pound any golden
ball to (after 4 hits) finish him off & earn your 2nd Grand Star.
A new portal is created to access World 3.

and float up to the bough with another blue fruit. Avoid bouncing off
