So yeah, I didn't find anything about the tier list on here, so I decided to post this. The current Smashboards tier list is:
Top Tier
S Tier
Meta Knight
High Tier
A Tier
Snake
Diddy Kong
Falco
Ice Climbers
Marth
Wario
B Tier
King Dedede
Pikachu
Olimar
Lucario
Mr. Game & Watch
Middle Tier
C Tier
Pit
Toon Link
Zero Suit Samus
Kirby
R.O.B.
D Tier
Donkey Kong
Peach
Fox
Luigi
Wolf
E Tier
Sheik
Pokémon Trainer
Sonic
Ness
Bowser
Low Tier
F Tier
Lucas
Ike
Yoshi
Mario
Falcon
Samus
Jigglypuff
G Tier
Zelda
Link
Ganondorf
Thoughts on who will rise and who will fall on the next tier list? Please be respectful when posting your opinions.
Edit: Actually, could you please explain why you think a certain character should rise or fall? It would make this thread so much more interesting.
Edit 2: Okay, no anti-tier stuff in this thread. It just clogs up this thread with tons of useless posts. For those of you who don't believe in tiers, you guys are basically saying that every character in this game is perfectly balanced. Well, answer me this: If you were a game developer, how would you be able to make a game perfectly balanced within a certain timeframe, and with only you and your crew of developers to test it? This is why that it is extremely hard to have a fighting game like this to be perfectly balanced.

King DeDeDe is too high, in my opinion, and I also find that Ganondorf is generally better than Link. Samus should definitely be higher.

Personally, I think Peach should rise into B tier, though her placement doesn't really have to change. I also think Jiggs should move up because of her ability to air camp like Wario.

I believe Ike is where he should be. He clearly isn't very good, but he's not awful. His AAA Combo isn't something to trifle with.

Air camping with Jigglypuff (Pounding slightly diagonally upwards) is tourney-banned, and therefore most likely not taken into account.Still, Jigglypuff is not that bad, and could be placed a bit higher, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Ike's AAA Combo is especially annoying when jab canceled. Does lots of damage before you get out of it.
I don't mean air camping like that. I mean like what Wario does when air camping, since both Wario and Jigglypuff have great air mobility, and Jiggs has the advantage of 5 jumps, while Wario can live longer. However, most of the people that could use Jiggs well end up using Wario, so it's hard to find rankings for her.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you're saying Wario can air camp.

I don't mean air stalling, I mean camping like this(taken from Smashboards Wario guide):
On 01-11-2010 00:28 am Smashboards wrote: Wario is a very good camper, when it comes to air camping, due to his amazing aerial control, Wario can literally get a damage or stock lead on a slow character like Dedede, then jsut aircamp him and wait out the timer.
To do this, get a percentage lead with like a Fair, then just duck out of their range, using airdodges and anything you can to dodge their moves, maybe hitting them with another Fair if you wont get hit or it wont get shielded, and thats basically how you air camp. You might wanna work with Baiting first though and use that to get some damage, then aircamp.
Aircamping is a very good strategy to use vs slow characters(Or some medium speed characters) in the first round, due to the psychological aspect of it. Aircamping gets people very very mad, as they feel they are helpless. Making them mad in any matchup with cheap tactics is a GOOD thing, as they will make more risky moves, or their game will get a little sloppy.
If you wanna aircamp for the first round, choose a stage like Smashvile or BF, MAYBE FD depending on the character, but thats character dependent. If its for your counterpick, aircamp on Norfair, its so easy to aircamp on that stage. That or RC, since 4 laps of RC = end of the match.
There is one more thing air camping can do for you, it charges up your Waft, since lots of time can pass until you actually get hit. This can be useful for damage or getting a kill, as with the timer ticking down, the opponent WILL do more risky kill moves in order to bring you down to their stock(If you have a stocklead, this doesn't count too much if its a percentage lead), which means its easy to punish them.
Apply to Jiggs. You should probably get similar results. Too bad hardly anyone mains Jiggs and Wario is apparently an overall better character, so "Why use Jiggs when you could use Wario?" is the notion.

I personally like using Link (non-Toon).
Bowser will probably go down on the tier list.

Bowser is annoying slow, and his attacks have a lot of lag afterwards, leaving him open to more attacks.

Not really. He actually has pretty decent mobility with Claw hopping. Also, fortress is a pretty great out of shield move with little lag. Bowser has a lot of lag on a lot of his moves, yes, but you don't have to use them all the time and he does have a fair amount of fast moves.

I see Jiggs being too low, but why Captain Falcon?
Also, ironically, people want Diddy to move up on another site I go to.

That was a poor description of air camping. All that really is is aerial control. Jigglypuff also has this advantage, but not as pronounced as Wario's.

Yeah, I don't know why it is even called air camping. Still, it shows that Wario and Jiggs can try to avoid damage by using their great aerial control to get them into a position that makes the opponent feel helpless. But if this is Wario's main draw, and Jiggs can do the same thing, why isn't Jiggs higher on the tier list?

Yes skill >>>>>>>> tiers. However, tiers take place at the highest level of play so skill is irrelevant. Also, tiers do not necessarily dictate who will win all the time, it dictates who will win most of the time at the highest level. For example, Reflex got 7th in a large tourney with Pokemon Trainer, who is D tier. This shows that tiers are just a guideline for who will win more often. And if some characters are cheep, that already implies that they are imbalanced, thus tiers.

For Pokemon Trainer, how does he get his Tier? IS it averaged out of his three pokemon all together.

Actually, he got his ranking by the character as a whole, not as seperate pokemon, since apparently, top players use Squirtle most of the match, Charizard some, and Ivysaur only a little bit. This is because Squirtle is the best, Charizard is decent, and Ivysaur is horrible apparently.

So pretty much you made your own version of tiers, but still called it the same thing. You have such creativity.

Also she is good at bringing up the damage, but harder to land a KO then most other characters.
