what do i have to do to either get past the dude at the bottom of the stairs or get into any of the rooms

I don't think that you can pass the dude at the bottom of the stairs, cause i,ve tried it
also already a 1000 times and every time it ends with the fact that you get caught by the
guy and you have to start all over again!
