You have to go to the tree in the middle of the pond. it will tranport you to another tree
up high in the quarry and that is where the griffin is. you will also need to give him
have 5 salamanders

What tree in the middle of the pond? Is it in the "Deep Forest"? Is it near the Goblin
Camp?

There are two tree folk in the deep woods, the first one we found transports you to the
quarry where the Griffin is. The Griffin will come when you are Simon, and I would make
sure you have the five salamanders like the other posters said. This tree is located in
the middle of the swamp-like area, up on one of the rock things. As you run around, you'll
eventually run into a log that you can either hop up on (but can't walk very far) or
you'll have the option to crawl through. This will take you over to where you can jump to
the "island" with the tree.

We see the tree but can't figure out where the log is that we need to jump on....help?

go around the tree and crawl through the log

near the log there is a tree which u need to go to a big goblin will come kill him then
use the tree
