what items do i need and where do you get them i have 10 items and need another 3 , i have looked in his house to see what i have got but am at a loss as to where to get stuff

You should have 13 in total. To check how many you have, go to the top of the house,
switch to thimbletack, once you are him, look in his little den, count how many and which
you have. Took me a while to find: the coin in the open field on forest road, the coin by
the straysods, circle around him to reveal the forest ground, with the extra coin.
