Walkthrough - FAQ/Walkthrough"Destiny is a single moment in time, when we are faced with a choice created by the consequences of our past actions that have lead up to that choice we will always be remembered for." I slaved over this bloody guide, I bled for it, I cried for it, I thought about giving up a thousand times, I didn't sleep, I let my school work suffer, I let my social life and work life go to hell, all for the goal of helping people. So, here is my legal statement. "Do what ever you want with my guide." If you can make money off of it, go for it, I can't so you're a better person than I am in that aspect. If you want to be cheesy and take credit for my work, go for it, the information I created in my guide is still serving its purpose, helping people. Besides, nobody cares who you, me or any other guide writter actually is anyway. Put it on any web site you wish, thrash it, edit it, do what ever, I do not care. I am not a guide writter normally, this is my first and most likely only guide I have and will ever write. ========================================================================= (ZZ) Contact ========================================================================= You can reach me at The_Evil_Smile@Hotmail.com Please put the subject "Fable Guide" With or without the " marks, if those 2 words, FABLE GUIDE are not in the subject, I can tell you, your e-mail will never get read. As with most other guides, if your question is answered in my guide, I will not be very kind to you. I will answer you because thats what I do; I help people, but I will make you feel like an idiot the best I can. If there is an error in my guide, or missing information, or you just feel I left something out that should have been in, let me know and I will credit you with the next update. ========================================================================= (ZZ) Guide Version / History ========================================================================= October 13, 2004 > Created Format for guide > Created Table of Contents > Started inputting information in various sections October 14, 2004 > Wrote parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 October 15, 2004 > Wrote part 5 and 6 > Updated Weapon, Armour and Item sections October 16, 2004 > Wrote part 7 and 8 October 17, 2004 > Wrote part 9 and 10 > Updated Weapons, Armour and Item sections > Added How to Get Married > Added Game Map > Created Index October 18, 2004 > Wrote part 11 > Edited and copied existing guide into the current format October 19, 2004 > Wrote part 12 and 13 > Added Will Abilities > Updated Weapon, Armour and Item sections > Added the opening quote > Added various info throughout the guide October 20, 2004 > Wrote part 14 > updated Weapon, Armour and Item sections > Updated the index October 22, 2004 > Wrote part 15 > Updated and added various information throughout the guide October 23, 2004 > Added Strength, Skill and Will section > Added Temple of Skorm and Avo section > Added Trading section October 24, 2004 > Wrote part 16 and 17 > Updated various information throughout the guide October 25, 2004 > Wrote part 18 > Updated various information throughout the guide October 26, 2004 > Reviewed entire guide.... I am not sure about anything. ========================================================================= (ZZ) Last Stuff Before The Guide Starts ========================================================================= Under each Part of the walk through, is a list of the required and optional activities. The required items must be done in the order they are shown, the optional ones however, can be done in any order you wish and you don't even have to do them all. Use the search codes, they are all unique. A search code is (code), you must include the brackets. So if you want to go to the first demon door simply HOLD CTRL and PRESS F, type in (DD01) and CLICK FIND NEXT. There are at least 3 locations in this guide for each code, the first is where it appears in the walk through, the second is in the section it falls into (demon doors are all listed in the demon door section) and finally in the index. A search code that appears in [ ] those brackets, is a reference, you just replace [ ] with ( ) keeping the code inside the [ ] the same. This is too limit the amount of actual search codes. I'd also like to take a minute to say, I am the only person who worked on this guide, I used no other guides as reference for information, nor did I take any information from others. I started a new game and wrote it as I went. Any similarties are because the information came from the same game. Q: "How do I get the sword out of the stone at the Temple of Avo?" A: Increase your Physique by 5, Health by 2 and Toughness by 3, if this is more than what it takes to max your stats, maxing them will work as well. Q: "How do I get Skorm's Bow?" A: I cover this in detail in the guide, search [SA], replace [] with (). In short, you need to be at least a level 4 (preferably 5) GOOD Alignment character. Take the mercinary from the Temple of Avo, go to the Chapel of Skorm, save, wait until near midnight and then sacrifice the mercinary. If you don't get it, load and try again. You need to get about 700 or more EVIL points to get it. Q: "How do I get the Sentinus?" A: I do cover this in detail, but it is very simple, if you're half EVIL donate 35,000 gold, if you're half GOOD, donate 60,000 gold. Basically, the more you are to the GOOD side, the more you have to donate to get the Sentinus. Q: "How do I have sex?" A: First, buy a maritial home, flirt, talk, give gifts, do what ever it takes to get someone to fall in love with you, when they do they will turn green, buy a wedding ring, give it to them, then talk to them and they will ask you if you want to get married, say yes and then repeat the gift giving, flirting, talking, etc until they turn green again, talk to them and say yes. Thats it. Q: "How do I marry Lady Grey?" A: Its actually a complete quest with multiple parts. First you need to beat the arena and talk to her in Bowerstone North, you'll need to then buy a Black Rose from the shop in Bowerstone North (its the very bottom item in the gift section). Then you'll need to talk to people in Bowerstone North to find out Lady Grey's Necklace has been stolen, its in Oakvale, go to the Memorial Gardens and spy on the two thieves, then go dig between the two ruined boats in Oakvale by the docks to find the necklace. Go give it to Lady Grey, then go fight Thunder on the Headman's Hill and once thats done, go marry Lady Grey. Q: "How do I have sex with Lady Grey?" A: Its the exact same as sleeping with any other wife, just flirt, talk and give gifts, eventually she will be yours. Q: "How do I get the Solus Sword from Lady Grey?" A: She gives you gifts based on the level of affection she has for you, the higher the affection the easier it is. Give her lots of gifts, pay lots of attention to her and she will eventually give it to you. Its an act of patience. Q: "What does Xbox Live do for Fable?" A: It is only Live Aware, which means all you can do is see your friends on-line, you can't actually play on-line. Q: "I have more than 20 Silver Keys, whats the biggest chest?" A: 20, at the Heroes' Guild. They put in extra because not everyone will find every key... plus they probably had 25 key chests, but like so many other things, they were removed before release. Q: "Can you have kids?" A: No, it was left out. Q: "Can you ever go back to the Arena?" A: No. Q: "How do I get the Bright Plate Chest Piece and Gloves?" A: Buy them at the Arena, but if you missed your chance there, just walk around Witchwood talking to the wandering traders, eventually you will find a trader who sells them. Q: "How do I get the Hero Dolls?" A: Each card game, except Black Jack, gives you one as a reward, the last one is a Thunder Doll that you can buy in Bowerstone North. Q: "Where are the Assassin Attacks?" A: Knothole Glade, Witchwood Cullis Gate, Prison Path, Windmill Hill, Hook Coast. Q: "Where are the Treasure Clues?" A: 1 is a reward from the Assassin attacks when all 5 are dead, Orchard Farm, Windmill Hill, reward from the Lost Trader Optional Quest, reward at the archery competition and a reward from the optional Bounty Hunt quest. Q: "Where is the Hiden Bounty reward?" A: Go to Orchard Farm, infront of the barn is a pile of hay, dig between the barn and the hay and you will find the treasure. Q: "Why does my frying pan suck?" A: Its probably because you dug up the treasure without having all six treasure clues. Without the clues, the frying pan doesn't deal 100 damage and does not have any sockets. Q: "Is there a sequal, or an expansion coming out for Fable?" A: There has been a very real rumour about a Fable 1.5, thats all that is known though, the details are still very sketchy. Q: "Can I still play after beating the game?" A: Yes. Don't skip the credits (they are like 20 minutes long). Q: "How do I get into the Demon Door in Greatwood Caves?" A: You need to talk to the door with a 14 or higher combat multiplier. Q: "What is the Hero Save Glitch?" A: When you save during a quest, it is called a Hero Save, it does not record world data, such as chests opened, items found, enemies killed, etc, all it does save is the items you've acquired, experience gained, money earned. If you load the Hero Save game, you will keep those items you found, but they will also be back where you found them so you can get them again and again. Q: "What is the Age Glitch?" A: Use the hero save glitch during the Archaeologist quest by going to the Temple of Avo, donating enough gold to have your age reduced, Hero Save, load and repeat until you're 18 again. Q: "Why does Fable freeze so often?" A: Chances are you are like me and have a Thompson DVD drive in your XBox, there are three types, the Thompson is the worst. Q: "Can I get tattoos like Maze's?" A: Kinda, you can have blue tattoos by having and using a lot of magic. Q: "How can I make money?" A: The easiest ways are though houses. If you have expensive trophies, you can buy a house, put the expensive trophies on the wall mantles, sell the house, break down the door, take the trophies, buy the house back and repeat. Every time you sell the house with trophies on the wall, you make profit equal to the value of the trophies. The second best way is to own as many buildings as you can in one town, sleep 6 times (3 days) and collect all the rent, sleep again and just repeat. Q: "Why is Fishing so hard now?" A: Because the more you do it, the harder it is. Its stupid, I know. Q: "How do you get into the Tavern Cellar?" A: Check the statue at Lookout Point around 10:00 pm game time, it will say it is pointing at Bowerstone, go to the Cellar and it will be open. _________________________________________________________________________ (WT) Walk-Through _________________________________________________________________________ The walk-through, as the title suggests, walks you through the entire game, reveals all its secrets, solves all the problems and gives you the power to beat the game without needing to use your brain. ========================================================================= (01) Part 1: Oakvale (childhood) ========================================================================= REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT: "Birthday Gift" (BG) Core Quest: Birthday Gift """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" You need to get your sister a birthday present, which you can buy from the trader in the center of town (in the middle of the mini map, he is the lower of the 2 green objective markers). You can either perform good deeds to get money from your father or you can earn the money on your own, being evil. There are a possible 6 coins, only 4 if you are good, 3 if you are bad. But if you do the bad deeds, you can still do some good deeds for extra coins, so do all the EVIL, and then do the G&E. 1. Go straight from the cinematic with your father, ahead you will see a lamp post, go behind that house to find a man making out with some woman, talk to him. GOOD - do not take the bribe. EVIL - take the bribe (1 gold coin) 2. Now, go to the center of town to the higher green dot, this is the cheating husband's wife. GOOD - tell her about her husband (1 good deed) G&E - after taking the bribe, rat him out (1 good deed) 3. Now, go right of that house and take the path to the left of the building on the right, go down the hill to enter a cutscene. GOOD - don't move (1 good deed) EVIL - smash all the barrels (1 gold coin) G&E - after smashing the barrels be standing where you were supposed to be standing (1 good deed) 4. Go back up the hill towards town, but turn right, there are two green dots, a bully and a kid. GOOD - beat up the bully (1 good deed) EVIL - beat the kid, give the bear to the bully (1 gold coin) G&E - after beating the kid up and giving the bear to the bully, beat up the bully (1 good dead) 5. When you have the bear (Rosie) go find the little girl, use your mini map, she moves between the center of town and the warehouses. GOOD - give her Rosie (1 good deed) Now, if you performed any good deeds, talk to your father to recieve 1 gold coin per good deed. He is on the far left of the mini-map. When you have at least 3 gold coins and are ready to move on, talk to the trader in the center of town to buy the chocolates. Now, your sister was the highest green objective marker, but she is now marked by the gold core quest objective marker, go to her to enter a cutscene and give her the chocolates. After the cutscene, its a single linear path to the next cut scene, and the end of part 1. ========================================================================= (02) Part 2: Guild of Heroes (childhood) ========================================================================= REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT: "Guild Training " "Melee Combat Test" OPTIONAL QUESTS AND ACTIVITIES: "Racing the Loud Mouth" "Red Apples" (G1) Core Quest: Guild Training """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" After the cutscenes, you need to go to the melee ring, from the map room, go right and follow the red carpeted path, this will take you to the dinning area. Go up the right side set of stairs and turn right, go across the bridge and head straight. On the right is the melee ring the quest marker on your mini map is the guild master, talk to him. Hit the dummy 7 times, then you will get your first weapon, a stick! Hit the dummy 7 more times, this time with your stick. (MC) Core Quest: Melee Combat Test """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Looking at your mini map, the guild woods is on the right hand side, in the middle, it will be marked with a yellow quest directional marker. Go there to find the beetles. There are 10 beetles at the back of the woods, kill them to complete the quest. When you leave the woods, you will have the option to move on in the story, or you can stay and do a couple things first. If you stay, talk to the guild master to move on to part 3 when you are done. Beating this quest earns you: 20 gold 30 renown (RM) Side Quest: Racing the Loud Mouth """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Near Maze's tower (the large tower in the lower left side of the guild) is a guy bragging about how fast he is, talk to him and take the challenge of beating his time. Its really not that hard, talk to him from as far away as you can, then be holding back as you finish talking to him and immediately hold B to run. Go across the bridge and turn right, go straight as an arrow to another bridge, cross it and go straight to find some stones in the water that you can use to cross to the demon door. As soon as you hit dry land, turn around and retrace your steps back to the guy, when you round the final corner watch the A button icon in the lower right side of your screen, as soon as it turns to the speech icon, press A. Beating his time earns you: 25 gold My personal best time is with 6 seconds left. (RA) Side Quest: Red Apples """"""""""""""""""""""""""""" Inside the slave quarters (I know its the servant quarters) you will find a woman standing beside a cabinet, at this point she is not highlighted green, (she is if you do this quest later though) she needs 4 Red Apples to bake a pie for the guild master, agree to help her. 1. To get the first, exit the slave quarters and turn left, follow the path past the first bridge, when you get to the second bridge, you can see it between the path and the big rock on the right. 2. Keep going straight to the 3rd bridge that goes to the demon door, in the tall grass just past the practice dummies, is the second. 3. A little to the left is a big silver chest, to the right of it is the next apple. 4. Go to the melee ring, on the hill to the left is the fourth. 5. Towards the guild woods to the right of the fourth, is the fifth. 6. Go left, towards the guild woods, by the flowers is the sixth. 7. To the left from the sixth is the last one infront of the tree. When you have four or more, go speak to the woman to get your reward. For helping her she gives you: 1 x Blueberry Pie ========================================================================= (03) Part 3: Guild of Heroes (teen years) ========================================================================= REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT: "Guild Training " OPTIONAL QUESTS AND ACTIVITIES: "Will Training" "Melee Training" "Archery Training" "Sparrow Infestation" "Bandits in the Woods" (G2) Core Quest: Guild Training """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" You are still on the Core Quest "Guild Training" when Whisper gets you out of bed again, go back to the melee ring by going out the door and follow the red carpet down the stairs to the map room, and you know the way from there. Talk to the guildmaster to get your first sword. Hit whisper 7 times to move on. Then you will need to block by holding "Y", just hold it and let whisper hit you 5 times. You can hit her with flourish attacks to earn extra strength experience. Now you will face off with whisper in a full out battle, she is easy, just roll and get behind her where you can get in 4-6 hits. After 7 hits, you will win, I've never lost so I don't know how many hits you can take... but I've been hit 3 times before. When you're done with melee training, go to the archery ring, which is just up on the mini map from the melee ring. Talk to the guild master, you will get your first bow. You can talk to the guild master before he gets to the archery ring. Hit each of the stationary targets, then you will need to hit moving targets. An excellent score is 150 or more, for reasons I will keep secret for now, score 150-160 points, this can be done by hitting the middle dummy with full power shots and still have plenty of time to spare. When you are done with the archery training, go to the Will training area, which if you didn't do the race yet, is the island before the demon door, the lowest part of the guild map. Go straight down to find a bridge and cross it to talk to the guild master. You can talk to the guild master before he gets to the will training area. Hit one dummy with lightning to please the guild master, who will then let you hit as many as you can in 30 seconds, an excellent score is 11 or more. Now, you can move on in the story or you can stay and do a few more things like before when you are done, talk to the guild master (he will be in the map room) when you are ready to move on to part 4. If you didn't do the race, or the apple pie quest before, you can still do it. (TW) Side Quest: Will Training """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go to the Will training area and talk to the black cloaked guy to test your Will abilities. (If you just finished your will training with the guild master, you'll have to wait for a bit before he gets there), Within the 30 second time limit, hit as many targets as you can, if you get 11 or more, you will get an A+. My personal best is 27. Earning an A+ gets you: 1 x Will Potion 1 x Resurrection Phial (MT) Side Quest: Melee Training """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go to the melee ring to test your melee abilities, talk to the guy in the black cloak to start the test. Just kick Whisper's ass again, you have to hit her 7 times with only being hit once or less to get an A+ and the reward. Beating Whisper with an A+ earns you: 1 x Iron Katana (AT) Side Quest: Archery Training """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go to the archery ring to test your archery skills, talk to the guy in the black cloak to start the test. Ok, same as before, hit the moving targets to earn points, again, it is easiest to focus on the middle target. To get an A+ you need to score 150 or more, you don't have to beat your old high score if you scored over 150. For an A+ (150 or more points) you will get: 1 x Yew Crossbow (SI) Side Quest: EVIL, Sparrow Infestation """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Near the entrance to the dinning hall is a black cloaked man, he wants you to kill the Sparrows that are all over the guild. Each one you kill earns you 5 gold and you will get an extra 20 gold for killing them all. 1. To the left of the man who gave you the quest, on the roof. 2. To the far right, on the same roof is another. 3. Across the bridge to the slave quarters, on the second entrance roof is one. 4. On the turn before Maze's tower, is one sitting on top of the little tree. 5. On the cross structure in the courtyard between the guild and Maze's tower, there is one sitting on the right structure. 6. In the courtyard on the roof right behind the statue and the fountain is another. 7. In the courtyard on the roof to the right of the guy who you can race, is the last one. Killing all 7 and then talking to the guy earns you: 55 gold (BW) Side Quest: Bandits in the Woods """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go in to the woods under the pretense of killing beetles with Whisper, but on the way, you see some bandits. Kill them with your will or archery abilities. Now, you don't actually get anything for this quest, other than experience in the area you used to kill the bandits... as well as the normal renown and good points for killing bad guys. ========================================================================= (04) Part 4: Guild of Heroes (graduation) ========================================================================= REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT: "Guild Training " (G3) Core Quest: Guild Training """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Its time to complete the core quest "Guild Training". Go to the woods and you will find your final test... man I wish all final exams were as easy as this. Also, if you didn't complete the optional quests in parts 2 and 3, this is your LAST CHANCE to do them. Melee is first up, hit Maze 7 times with your sword. Just like when you fought Whisper you can hit him with a florish attack to earn extra strength experience. Next is archery, if you stand far enough away from him, you can hurt him, giving you skill experience, hit him 7 times to move on. Last is Will, I do not know if you can earn extra will experience on him, I have tried all sorts of distances, but no luck, so just hit him 7 times and you've completed the final test.... Leave the woods and you get to graduate. Before you get to set out on your own, you need to learn to use the experience shrine. Its quite simple, just choose what ever you want, if you have enough experience, get it, if not either save up or buy something else. Beating this quest earns you: 2 x Resurrection Phial 1 x Lamp 2 x Health Potion 1 x Will Potion 1 x Apple Pie 600 experience ========================================================================= (05) Part 5: Heroes' Guild to Picnic Area ========================================================================= REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT: "Wasp Menace" OPTIONAL QUESTS AND ACTIVITIES: "Demon Door #1" "Heroes' Guild" "Silver Key #1" "Lookout Point Hobbo" "Picnic Area" "Hero Title" NOTE: Now that you have Resurrection Phials, I need to let you know that the max you can carry is 9, if you get any when you have your max, you simply won't get it. So I ussually sell them after I have 5, they fetch a good price after all. (WM) Core Quest: Wasp Menace """""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Once you're ready to move on, go to the map room and take the Quest Card "Wasp Menace". The 3 faded quest cards are dummy quests, as in they are not actually possible to get. You're not actually on the quest until you see the quest started screen, which will show the money, renown, boasts, etc for the quest. Enter Lookout Point, you'll be approached by a guy who tells you about the wasps, follow him to the picnic area. You'll see your enemy and the quest will begin. Kill the wasps to complete the quest. GOOD - don't let any villagers die. EVIL - kill the villagers yourself. Once the wasps are dead, a very big wasp will appear, kill it. Beating this quest earns you: 500 gold 200 renown 1 x Wasp Queen's Head (DD01) Demon Door #1 - Heroes' Guild """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Lets go to the demon door in the guild grounds. If you don't remember how to get there, go from the map room, along the red carpet into the dinning hall, up the stairs on the right, turn right and cross the bridge, go right and follow the edge until you get to the next bridge, cross it and keep going straight over the rocks. "Your Path is Dark." "Only a light will reveal it. And you are not bright enough." Quite simple to figure out, but if you need the answer, simply find your lamp in Items - Others, use it infront of the demon door. Inside there is a chest, a table with a book on it and two book shelves. Inside the chest you will find: 1 x Elixir of Life On the table you will find: 1 x Making Friends On the book shelves you will find: 1 x Book of Spells 1 x Howl Tattoo Heroes' Guild """"""""""""" Go back to the Heroes' Guild, in the Heroes' Guild you can find some books, taking books does not count as a crime in the Guild. Up stairs bedrooms 1 x The Tale of Maxley 1 x Three Haikus by Miko the Bard 1 x A Love Story 1 x Kryndon Tattoo Library 1 x The Pale Balverine 1 x The Hierarchy of Weapons 1 x The Other Land 1 x Creatures of Albion Book II 1 x The Old Kingdom 1 x The Northern Wastes 1 x The Tale of Twinblade 1 x The Dragons 1 x Creatures of Albion Book I 1 x The Arena 1 x Creatures of Albion Book III (SK01) Silver Key #1 - Lookout Point """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Leave the Heroes' Guild by exiting the front door at the map room, this will take you to Lookout Point. At the top of the hill at Lookout point, on the left side before the statue, are a couple of vines that can be cut down with your sword. Cut them down to reveal a path to the Silver Key. Lookout Point Hobbo """"""""""""""""""" Beside that statue in Lookout Point is a bully and a hobo argueing. GOOD - Fart a bunch infront of the bully (or just hit him).
