I decided to write a walkthrough for Fable, after I tried a walkthrough for Morrowind, my fave Xbox game, and then I realized it was way too big to do so. =P So, Fable's a fun game, so here's a walkthrough. Scroll on down to Section Zero for the info on reading this FAQ, basic controls of Fable, and contact info. In the future, expect... More Side Quest updates and tips More stuff in Miscellaneous section, complete the Demon Door, locked chest Silver Key etc. charts Near-completion of the Item Directory, the big after-project More general tips. Clothing section completed. Ugh. :-- History --: 9/1/2006 - First update in half a month. More item directory updates, mostly in Style Cards section. Available for usage on SuperCheats.com. So yeah, it's not dead or anything. 8/15/2006 - Section Zero sorta finished overnight. Large Item Directory update. Realized that I misspelled "shirt" as something...worse, so that's fixed. XD 8/14/2006 - First version up on GameFAQs, approved for usage on Neoseeker.com. 8/11/2006 - Work on Item Directory officially started. 8/9/2006 - Finished first version of main story quests, lots of bonuses added in. 8/2/2006 - Started, starting work on first week of stuff adding. First playthrough as good warrior, so in future updates expect more details on evil quests, more options as a mage and archer. Of course, this is not all complete yet, so just keep this in mind if you see some quests that I haven't put anything much on it yet. You probably read the introduction at the front, if not, please do. : Controls + Basics : If your game didn't come with an instruction manual, if you're renting, or if you just don't like to read, you might not know the controls. So... Left Trigger - Target Lock-on : Hold this down to get a target on your enemy. Use the right trigger with it to change targets. Right Trigger - Hold for Magic/Collect Experience Orbs : After defeating an enemy, you'll get experience orbs. Hold down on the right trigger to bring them closer to you. Also, the more popular usage is for magic - hold down on this and press the corresponding button for the spell (A,X,B). Left Thumbstick - Movement or Zoom Bow : Obviously, this moves you. Clicking down on the thumbstick while having a bow equipped will send you into the "sniper" mode, and lets you zoom in a fair bit to hit your target better. Back - Inventory : View your inventory, where you can change your clothes, weapons, usepotions, all that good stuff. Start - Pause Screen : Save, load, adjust options, quit. You know. D-Pad - Items & Expressions : Pressing up will give you the Quick Menu, a sort of stripped-down version of your Inventory. Pressing down (once you've graduated from the Guild) will let you use your Guild Seal to teleport (or when an item or door is highlighted, it will let you use your Stealth expressions). The right and left are slightly randomized, the game will put whatever you most need there at the moment - usually Health and Will potions. Right Thumbstick - Camera/Expand Map : Moving the right stick around will adjust your camera view, and clicking on it lets you see a larger version of your map in the upper right corner. X - Attack : Exactly what it sounds like. The X button is your attack button. Y - Block : Again, exactly what it sounds like. Use the Y to block punches/ attacks, and use Y in combination with the Left Thumbstick to dodge. B - Run/Flourish : Holding down B while moving lets you run. Pressing B when you have the crossed burning swords icon in the lower left corner will let you use an unblockable Flourish attack, which may send your opponent to the floor, depending on their strength and size and all that. A - Interact : Use this to talk to people, open doors, take items, pretty much all the important stuff. White - Arm/Sheathe Melee Weapon : Bring out your axe, sword, whatever. Black - Arm/Sheathe Ranged Weapon : Bring out your bow. As for on-screen graphics, in the upper left corner is your Health, Mana, how many Resurrection Phials you have (inside the heart), and if applicable, your Combat Multiplier. Your Combat Multiplier (CM) is at its most basic, how good you've been doing - more consecutive hits for more damage = better CM. It's useful especially for when you have any Ages of "__" (Skill, Will, Might) potions, as you get your CM X 1000 points of Experience in that particular category. Now, for Experience (Exp), this odd thing? You pick up Experience from any fallen enemies, sometimes from Ages Of potions, and it is what you use to level your Hero up. Warrior? Archer? Mage? That's up to you, and how you choose to spend your Exp. Using your Melee, you'll get Strength Exp (red), using your Ranged, or trading, or stealing will get Skill Exp (yellow), and using magic of any sort will get you Will Exp (blue). This is all spendable at the Guild after your graduation. Now, back to the on-screen graphics, in the lower left corner shows you what actions currently pertain to the D-Pad positions. Same thing for the lower right, for the buttons. Up in your top right, you've got the map. Very useful indeed. Going to the Map in your inventory, you can see the key, so I won't bother with that here. Also, you have the Awareness Eye. The number on the AE tells you how many people can see you, and if it's red, that means enemies can see you. A closed AE means no one can see you, and a slightly open AE with a number means people are aware of you, but it's safe to steal at the moment. And your clock, which is pretty linear - the arrow points to the time of day or night it is. : Guide to FAQ : The Experience (Exp), Gold, and Renown levels after each quest is an average based on what I've gotten in my multiple playthroughs required for this walkthrough, not necessarily how much you will get. It's just so you know abooouut what to expect afterwards. Augmentation slots per weapon = OPEN Augmentation slots, not necessarily how many there ARE. I'm trying to get all the info I can on the game by myself for this FAQ, so if you see incomplete lists, etc. (like the Silver Keys), I just haven't done it or recorded it yet in the game. And one thing about it...the targeting system is just terrible. Besides that, Fable's a great game to pick up and have some semi-RPG fun. Enjoy it! : Contact : Questions, comments, errors, typos, suggestsions, insults, email at jd0922@yahoo.com. Of course you can use this for your game, that's what its for, but any use of this walkthrough on sites without my permission, or with credit given to people with nothing to do with this FAQ, is strictly prohibited. By me. Yeah, me. : Info : Copyright notices, Fable and everything in it was made by Microsoft, Lionhead, Big Blue Box, but I take all of the credit for writing all that walkthrough down there, unless said otherwise. Credit where credit is due, right? Current sites with permission to use FAQ - GameFAQs and Gamespot, neoseeker, SuperCheats, and possibly more later. :--1.0 -- Main Story Quests --: :--1.1 -- Birthday Gift --: Well, you started up a game. You'll get to know all the controls here pretty quick, if not, go up to Section Zero. So, let's watch the intro, and now...aw, you're sleeping. Anyway, your father informs you that today is your sister's birthday, and she needs a present. Well, easy enough, eh? Perform three good deeds to get gold from your father, and you can buy her a box of chocolates. First person you'll see, probably, is a little girl who's lost her teddy bear. So, to find the bear? Using your map, go to the easternmost green dot. Talk to the little kid, and he'll tell you that the bully is harassing him. Punch the bully, make him go away, and you'll get the bear back. Yay. Back to the girl, and there's two good deeds in the bank. Next, go to the guy by the barrels in the southernmost green dot, in the cul-de-sac area with three barns. He'll ask you to watch over his boxes while he goes to the bathroom. Pretty soon into it, an annoying little kid's going to try to talk you into smashing the barrels while he's gone, which you can do - just make sure you're back in time for the guy to give you credit for finishing - pay attention to the time bar. There's another one you can do, if you want an extra gold piece in your pocket, or messed up the second quest - talk to the woman outside of her house in the center of town, and she'll tell you about her cheating husband. He's behind a house on the west part of the map, with his mistress. Talk to him, and if you want the good deed, don't take his bribe. If you take his bribe, you get a gold piece, so, whatever. Either way, you can return back to the woman and tell her about the affair. There's one more good deed. So by now, you might have four. Either way, go talk to your dad, get your gold. Now go to the Trader in front of the tavern, in the center of Oakvale, and buy a box of chocolates. Go to the north of the map, and talk to your sister. She'll tell you about some odd dreams. Give her the chocolates. Alright, we're all happy, right? Exit the field...aw, crap. Bandits. Feel free to watch the movies and everything...Now, make your way back to your house. Go up the hill, and over the covered bridge...well...covered-in-flames bridge. Another big aw crap ahead. Your father's dead. A bandit comes and is juuuust about to attack you when...he gets owned by a guy with a glowing face. You'll learn that this is Maze, a guy you'll love, and hate, later. But currently, you're off to the Guild of Heroes. Your adventure is beginning. :-:Gold: 1 :---Exp: none :Renown: none :-Other: Maybe a bear. :--1.2 - The Heroes Guild Introduction -: Time to begin your training. You get your first look at Whisper, who you'll learn to hate pretty quickly. Head on down to the yellow quest marker. Punch the dummy. The Guildmaster will then give you the one weapon to rule them all - a stick. Beat that sucka down again. Run over the orb, then the Guildmaster will give you the quest to kill some beetles with a stick. Whooooee! :-:Gold: None :---Exp: 1 :Renown: None :-Other: A stick. :--1.3 - Melee Combat Test -: Pretty much a straightforward quest - head over to your right, the east, at the pretty much omnipresent quest marker. Head around the circle path to the other side, and hit beetles with a stick. Pretty easy. Kill them all, and come back out of the woods. Talk to the Guildmaster, get some extra gold. Now it's time to begin your apprentice training, maybe do a couple of side quests here. :-:Gold: 70 :---Exp: 10 :Renown: 40 :-Other: None :--1.4 - Guild Training -: Wake up, and talk to the Guildmaster at the Combat Ring now. He'll give you your first sword (yay), and give you some nice instructions - try and hit Whisper. You can hit her once, then use Flourish a couple times, get some Strength exp from Whisper's sorry face. Now, block her seven times - not hard, just hold down Y. Now he wants you to combine them - still simple, just hit and block her a couple times. Now for your Archery training - I like the method of clicking down on the left thumbstick, then holding down X for a while, and shooting the dummies in the back. Don't bother with hitting the first one, that'll get you nowhere. It's easy to get scores of 400-450 in the Archery tests by hitting them at key moments. Nothing really to walk through here, just keep going. Now for Will. Wait for the Guildmaster to get over to the island, and start using your willpower. Simple job here - hold down right trigger, and then press X, then press left trigger to get a target on a dummy. To get the most in the test, hold down both triggers and X, and storm through the dummies once, then wait for them to turn back, then do it again...over and over, you can get about 20 in half a minute. Not bad, eh? --BE SURE to do this-- Don't advance on quite yet, do the three trainers in the skills - Melee, Archery, and Will - and get some sweet rewards from them. Use my above tips. Another BE SURE, is don't equip them yet or anything - sell them after you've completed your training, because you'll need to use the weapons the Guildmaster gave you to defeat Maze in your final test. Now go into the Guild Woods, if you want. Not necessary to do this, but it's fun. Play with Whisper? Yay. Buuut those darn Bandits are always crashing the party... I found it pretty easy to hide behind a rock and pick 'em off with the bow. Now your final test awaits. Like I said before, make sure you have the Yew Longbow and Iron Longsword the Guildmaster gave you. It's easy enough to do - Go to the Guild Woods, hit Maze seven times with your Longsword, hit him seven times with the bow, and hit him with lightning for seven seconds. Come out of the woods. Congratulations, you're a hero. Watch the little cutscene of the graduation, and you be done with the training. Learn about the experience portal, and the map table. :-:Gold: 22 :---Exp: 611 :Renown: 58 :-Other: Iron Katana, Yew Crossbow, Iron Longsword, Yew Longbow, Resurrection Phial (3), Lamp, Health Potion (2), Will Potion (2), Apple Pie. :--1.5 - Wasp Menace -: Take the Wasp Menace quest card from the map. Head through the door, to Lookout Point. Remember to follow the gold Quest Markers, as the Guildmaster tells you about 50 times in the course of the game. Get to the Picnic Area (a guy'll run with you, lead you to it) Kill all the wasps attacking the people, and the Wasp Queen will appear. Use your bow (only magic if you're a good mage already - the bow is far more efficent). Be sure to pick up some of the apples and pies around the tables, to heal yourself if you are hurt. Going back to the Heroes Guild, you'll meet one of another of the most anonying people - Briar Rose. :-:Gold: 500 :---Exp: 887 :Renown: 274 :-Other: Wasp Queen's Head :--1.6 - Maze's Information -: This one's simple - Go to Bowerstone South (north from Lookout Point), to the tavern, and talk to Maze, who's in front of the tavern. This is a great oppurtunity to look around Bowerstone South, however. So get your hero pimp'd out, and get some side quests from Bowerstone. Thunder's there, for your third Hero sighting in 2 minutes. :-:Gold: none :---Exp: none :Renown: none :-Other: none :--1.7 - Protect/Attack Orchard Farm -: Go to the Heroes Guild, and take this quest card. Head on down through Lookout Point, Greatwood Entrance, Greatwood Lake, and finally to the Orchard Farm. Orchard Farm's a pretty cool place - there's a Treasure Clue, and a lot of quests happen around here. Anyway, the object of this quest is to protect these mysterious bricks - you can't let the bandits get away with them. The best bet is to use a melee weapon or your magic, I found trying to pick off bandits with the bow didn't work nearly as well. Still worked. But anyway, again. Just keep three rounds of three bandits from running off with those bricks, and you've got a nice 750 gold in your pack. Dig and fish around in Orchard Farm, you never know what you'll find. Now Whisper will confront you. The easiest way to defeat her (again...and again, it seems like) is to hit her a couple times with your normal melee attack, and get the Flourish symbol. Then lay the hurt on that annoying woman. Also, for attacking Orchard Farm, go the same route and everything, just go with your bandit cronies and hold the guards off for long enough for them to run away with them. It's slightly harder, but there's more pay, if you're an evil dude. And Whisper's hat is mysteriously missing. :-:Gold: 750-1200 :---Exp: 2108 :Renown: 448 :-Other: Whisper's Brooch :--1.8 - Trader Escort -: Travel through Greatwood (it's one way except for Rose Cottage after you get to Greatwood Gorge, don't worry about directions) to the Darkwood Entrance. Here you'll meet two Traders, and they need escorted to Barrow Fields. This is your first big adventure quest, so have fun. So, you've got some followers. You can tell them to wait at various points in the journey, it's quite helpful. So, not too far off from your start, you'll see this dude, who just got owned by a Balverine. One of two outcomes; let him stay, nothing happens, you get some evil points. Let him follow, you get some good points, but he does indeed turn into a Balverine later. So it's your call. Next you go into the Darkwood Marshes. If you want to do the Demon Door's challenge, make sure you have the Traders following you wait a while away - trying to kill the Hobbes will destroy your own guys far too easily. Now you'll come along these mushroom-looking things, you'll see them later in the game as well. I don't know the name of them, but they can be annoying, as you know if you stepped on to one by accident already. Pick them off from afar with your bow or magic, and continue on to the Darkwood Lake. Here's where it gets a bit challenging. You might want to have the Traders wait up by the north gate while you pick off Bandits. Get through to the Darkwood Camp, a nice place for your Trader buddies and yourself to rest for a while and heal. When you're ready, continue on to the Ancient Cullis Gate, kill more Bandits (and Hobbes at the end), and on to the Darkwood Weir, where you are almost done. Of course, your buddy, the Trader you picked up at the beginning, turns into a Balverine. Dispose of your former buddy (what a shame...but you'll have to move on...it's okay to cry), and get to to the end of the region, where you'll get your first look at what will be an intimidating enemy at first...a troll. No, not the message board kind of troll, but a big, ugly, green Earth troll. They're really quite easy to beat, however. Get up close, hit him a couple of times with your weapon, then press Y and roll back while it does a ground attack. Wash, rinse, and most importantly, repeat. Continue on through the exit, and you and your friends are finally safe and done. Don't be frustrated, it takes a while to get into a rhythm, and he takes forever to kill as a low level character. But you are done with one of the longest quests in the game - pat yourself on the back. And on a side note, don't worry if one of your original Trader guys takes an unfortunate fall (at least in the original - dunno if they fixed it in TLC), you can complete the quest with one Trader. :-:Gold: 3570 :---Exp: 1723 :Renown: 768 :-Other: Trader's Feather :--1.9 - Maze's New Information -: Continue through from the last quest, into Oakvale, from Barrow Fields. Hey, this looks FAMILIAR. Yes, it's the same old Oakvale...well, it has a couple additions on there, like the cemetary. And there's some side quests worth checking out...and a couple of great shops. You can also buy your old home. You'll see the girl who lost the teddy bear, and you'll be surrounded by flaming houses...what a trip, eh? Well, go talk to Maze and do this. It's pretty easy. Press A. >.> He'll tell you about the Blind Seeress, who lives in Twinblade's Bandit Camp. She could tell you about your sister, possibly. Twinblade is the King of Bandits, a former Hero. Go back to the Guild when you want to take the quest, but for now, I recommend checking out Oakvale. :-:Gold: none :---Exp: none :Renown: none :-Other: ...info? :--1.10 - Find the Bandit Seeress -: Start this quest by taking the Quest Card, then going to Oakvale. Head through the west region exit from Oakvale, but before doing so, you may want to take the Assassin Boots from the chest to the left of the Clifftop Path entrance. They can help you get through the next region, which is quite difficult to get through without knowing how. Watch the cutscene with the Guildmaster's tips on how to get through. So, how to get in? Unless you're incredibly good at sneaking already, kill all the Bandits here. Go behind the large rock to the left and way in front of the entrance. Wait for all three Bandits to come out, then when the third one starts to walk away, quickly sneak around the rock, and make a run for the entrance. Next you'll come to the Abandoned Road. Here, you'll have to collect the five pieces of Bandit Armor required to get into Twinblade's Camp. It's not great armor, and makes you really unattractive, so you probably won't have any other use for it after this. The little cutscene will play, and then the Bandits will be after you. You will fight a LOT of Bandits this level, but they're all pretty easy. Be sure to look in all of the chests along the way for the five pieces of Bandit Armor and a Resurrection Phial, then get through the region exit. Talk to the Bandit there when you're wearing the Bandit suit, and then take it off and change back into whatever you want. To get further, you'll need a Bandit Camp Pass - there are a couple ways to do this. Talk to the Bandit by the bar to buy one for 1000 gold; beat the tavern game Guess the Addition, use the Slow Time spell if necessary. Or, kill either one of the two guys. If you're an evil dude, you can buy a full set of Dark Plate, Chainmail, Leather, Villager, or Assassin armor here. Here you go into Twinblade Elite's Camp. To get through this gate, no pass or outfit will do - you need a distraction to get rid of the guards. You can do this one of two ways - one, pay off the Assassins to create a distraction ; two, kill the Bandit keeping the hostages under lock and key, and then free them. Either one works, but the second one is easy and free. Now, once the gate is open, go to Twinblade's Tent. Boss fight! To beat Twinblade, wait until he tries to hit you and gets his blades stuck in the ground. Then, hit him from behind as many times as possible, and dodge until he does it again. After you defeat him temporarily, as you're about to kill him...OMGWTFBBQ it's your sister. So, she's the Blind Seeress. Damn Twinblade cut her eyes out! Anyway, listen to her stuff, and you can do one of two things. Well, first off, raid everything at the camp. But then you can do one of two things - kill Twinblade (evil, and the Bandits attack you), or leave him (good points). Congrats, you finished the quest. Go rest up at the Guild (or the Bordello) and prepare for your next quests. :-:Gold: 7931 :---Exp: 16893 :Renown: 1502 :-Other: Bandit Seal :--1.11 - Maze's Request -: This one already has all the info you need - Meet Maze at the Guild. Some more nice info from Maze here. He talks about the Arena, and he leaves a Quest Card for you, about the Archaeologist. Now you get to go explore Witchwood, if you wish to take this. :--1.12 - Find the Archaeologist -: Take the Cullis Gate to Witchwood, and head over to Witchwood Stones. Don't worry bout finding the region, it's actually the only place you can go. Going along to start off, you'll see (=O) a big ol' nasty rock troll. Using the method I described in 1.8, it's quite easy to defeat and get Combat Multipliers of 15 or more. Go over to the stones, and examine the letters on them. Hit them in the order so that they spell "HITS". Now the Demon Door opens, and you can talk to the Archaeologist, to finish this easy quest. The Archaeologist is quite an ungrateful guy...but oh well. Raid the cavern. Also, if you want to be playing by the rules, there's a guy at the Temple of Avo who will tell you "HITS" if you give him a Ruby. On another note, if you spell the...ahem...other word, two Balverines will come and attack you. :-:Gold: 1200 :---Exp: 1440 :Renown: 113 :-Other: none :--1.13 - White Balverine -: Unlucky number 13, eh? Well, now you get to visit the wonderful town of Knothole Glade, and get introduced to the annoying as hell Balverines formally. Go back to the Witchwood Cullis Gate, and fight your way through the forest, or check out the Temple of Avo...it doesn't matter what you do for now, just get to Knothole Glade eventually. So the first thing you'll be confronted with is the Balverines outside of the town gates - they're attacking the villagers trying to get inside. Your bow is surprisingly useful against Balverines - keep them at a distance and there's nothing they can do. Finish off 3 of them, and watch the cutscene, where the Chief tells you about what's up. Go hit the White Balverine (marked by gold quest marker) 10 times with weapons or magic, and let it run off. The Chief tells you some more, and tells you about his wife, who lives at the top of the hill. Go all the way to the southern part of Knothole Glade, around the tree and rocks in the center, and the Balverine will appear again. Hit it 10 MORE times, and watch it run off...again...then a cutscene of the wife coming out of the house plays. You learn that it used to be her husband, and then he turned into the Balverine. Since he's now pretty much dead...might as well kill him. Use the silver augmentation the wife gives you, and use that weapon against the White Balverine. Hit him five more times, and NOW you finally get to go attack him. Go over to Witchwood Lake, and kill the White Balverine. Again, ranged weapons are useful for against JUST the White Balverine, but when he calls his friends to help him, use your melee/magic, and be sure to use the Block/Dodge manuevers to keep from using up all of your health potions. And of course, use your silver-augmented weapon. Divine Fury/Infernal Wrath is a great spell to have, if you have TLC. Return back to Knothole Glade, talk to the Chief, and you're done. Ah, and you get a letter from your sister, and a nomination for the Arena. Hey, not bad? But for now, look at Knothole Glade. Check the place out, it's got some cool stuff, a Demon Door, all that. :-:Gold: 6200 :---Exp: 2540 :Renown: 1085 :-Other: White Balverine Head, Theresa's Letter, The Bloodline :--1.14 - The Arena -: So, pick up the nomination at the Guild. Head up to the Witchwood Lake, and go north to the Arena. Go into the Arena Preparation Area, with the best merchant in the game. Save your money until now, then stock up as much as possible. Watch the cutscene with Roth, the rules of the Arena and everything. Stock up on potions, so you don't have to take a break and come back for some later. You can play blackjack...Now you can wait around for a few minutes, until a guard comes and gives Roth some bad news. Chameleon, the last fighter, is dead, and you're up next. Talk to the guard at the gate, it's time to start fighting. I can't help you much here, as there's really not that many tricks - Whisper comes in after two rounds, use her to distract creatures, Bandits, Undead as you pick them off with bow or Magic. As I said before, Divine Fury or Infernal Wrath are great spells, use them. The best way to destroy the trolls is have Whisper distract one, and you beat up on the other from behind. As for the Arachanox, a good way is to just run, and let it charge blindly at Whisper or yourself, then when it does the big glowy thingy where it puts its tail in the ground, run up and attack it, or use bow and magic again, of course.(Sorry, couldn't think of a better description, glowy thingy xD) In the end, you can kill Whisper, and get a money bonus and take all the gold yourself, or just end it and walk out. Afterwards, you'll see Lady Elvira Grey, the Mayorof Bowerstone. She's...evil. And you also get to meet Jack of Blades for the first time. There's a few things you can do with her later in side quests, but we'll get to that further on. Have fun in the Arena. Oh, and learn to love Undead. Easiest kills ever. So here's a little cheat sheet... Four rounds of Wasps for 100 gold Four rounds of Hobbes for 500 gold Three rounds of Balverines for 1000 gold Three rounds of Undead for 2000 gold Three rounds of Bandits for 3000 gold One round of two Earth Trolls for 4000 gold One round of two Stone Trolls for 8000 gold Defeat the Arachanox for 10000 gold Phew. Nooow you have to defeat Whisper, I forgot to mention that above. If you want to kill her, get the prize offered by Jack of Blades...or if you don't, just leave her, get some serious good points. Be sure to use Flourish, or a surround spell. Whisper is supremely annoying to fight. :-:Gold: 29550 :---Exp: 25557 :Renown: 4439 :-Other: You can now go to Bowerstone North, you get the Champion's Seal, the King Scorpion Sting, and you're really freaking famous. :--1.15 - Finding Theresa Again -: After the Arena, a cutscene appears, with a Bandit informing you Theresa wants to meet you at the Grey House. This is easy enough to find, of course - it's the eastern exit from Barrow Fields. Grey House is a great place for experience, as it's absolutely packed with Undead. When you enter the region, Theresa will tell you just how much of a jerk Jack is. Your mother is in Bargate Prison, and the Archaeologist knows how to get there. Looks like you're going to have to find him AGAIN, to get your mother back. Go back to the Guild and pick up the Quest Card when you're ready. Raid the Grey House, and kill some Undead. :--1.16 - Rescue the Archaeologist -: I wouldn't recommend doing this right after the Arena - Finish some side quests first, this one's quite challenging. You have to fight Minions, and it's actually timed towards the end. But once you're ready, go to Bowerstone North, and exit out the northwesternmost region gate to Bowerstone Jail. Here you'll meet the first two Guards, and your first few Minions. Say it with me sarcastically everyone : Yay. They really aren't that hard to kill, but you'll see a LOT of them from this point on. You really don't have to fight them, you can run on through, but maybe you want some extra experience or something. So fight your way through them up to Windmill Hill, where you'll catch another Guard to follow you. You'll see the cutscene with the Minion placing a barrier so you can't quite get to the next region yet, you've got to kill it first. It's hiding in the windmill. After you've completed that, move on to the Gibbet Woods. Here, we find a big ol' nasty rock troll, and some more barriers. You can get two more Guards to follow you and distract Minions here as well. Now move on to the Prison Path, where you have five minutes to kill all the Minions here, to save the Archaeologist. It's not too hard, it just seems hectic when you get down to the docks, and there's five million of the losers. What I like to do is go all the way down to where the boat is, then wait for all the Minions to come charging, then use Divine Fury/Infernal Wrath. You can get like, 10 at a time with that. There's a lot of 'em to fight though. Be patient. When you get down by the Archeologist, some more will spring up. So make sure that you've killed them all. Then the Archaeologist cutscene plays, and he tells you a little about the ancient route to Bargate Prison through Lychfield Graveyard. Look to the north from the dock, and you can see Bargate Prison. :-:Gold: 8160 :---Exp: 18205 :Renown: 2191 :-Other: Minion's Helmet :--1.17 - The Graveyard Path -: Head on up to Lychfield Graveyard. Quite a gloomy place, wouldn't you say? Don't be turned off by the promise of only 1500 gold, this is just about the best quest in the game experience-wise. This, the Hobbe Cave quest, and a couple of well-timed Ages of "-" potions will get you leveled up in no time. The people in front of the gate are quite disappointed about not getting in to see their loved ones, but they don't matter. Go over to the Gravekeeper's house, and you'll overhear him talking with a guy, and you learn there's some armor stashed all over the Graveyard. Take Nostro's Helmet from behind the Gravekeeper, on the shelf behind him. So if you didn't piece the stuff together, here's what you're doing ; go through the Graveyard, and find Nostro's Grave. Don't worry, it's marked by a gold quest marker on yer map. The Undead start to rise once you come inside the gates, this is awesome. Just stand there and kill waves after waves of Undead, and you'll have enough expierence to max out half of your stats after a while. Exaggeration, but still. Great stuff. It doesn't matter if the Gravekeeper dies, he's not important anymore. Go down into Nostro's grave, and he tells you to find his four artifacts - his helmet, armor, shield, and sword. They're all marked by green dots on the map, but here's slightly more detailed locations. 1 - Helmet - Gravekeeper's house. 2 - Armour - Lady Fylom's crypt, east and slightly north of Nostro's grave. 3 - Shield - Fish outside of the Dark Duke Sibelis' crypt, to the southeast of Lady Fylom's crypt. 4 - Sword - Dig where the glowing green stuff is, in Yaggath Sonnog's grave. You can find a Spade outside the Gravekeeper's house, and a Fishing Rod inside a chest oustide of Nostro's grave, through the vines. Once you find all four, go back to Nostro, and he tells you the path is open. The cutscene will take you over to the Demon Door, who will now open for you. Now you're in the Old Graveyard Path, with yet more Undead, and I mean MORE Undead. You can never kill all the Undead here, the lesser ones respawn indefinitely. In short, this is frickin' schweet, since Undead are weak to just about everything. When you get to the end, kill the large Undead in front of the door, and it will be opened. for you to go through, and all the Undead are gone from this region (so be sure to get all yer killing done first). Go through to the Circle of the Dead, and stand in the middle of the circle, in the green. The first round of Undead will come after you. What's tricky about these guys is when they're not in the actual circle, they're invisible and impossible to hit. So just wait for them to come after you, and hack/slash 'em up. Now three larger Undead will come after you, do the same thing. You don't have to worry about the invisibility factor much here. After they're dead, the secret entrance to Bargate Prison will be revealed. This quest is done, if you wish, you can now go do other stuff before returning here, since the prison esacpe is going to take you a long time, both in game time and your time. I'd suggest at least going back to the Guild to level up. :-:Gold: 2480 :---Exp: 20991 :Renown: 2178 :-Other: Undead Hand :--1.18 - Rescue Scarlet Robe/Prison Escape -: So, since your mom is in prison (bummer), it's time for you to save her. This is a looong quest, especially in Fable terms. So once you're ready, go from the Circle of the Dead, into the small crypt with the door. You'll find yourself in the Underground Chamber, which is home to a boss fight later. For now, there's nothing to do, run through to the next region. In this Underground Tunnel, you'll find some Undead, including in the center circle where you'll have to kill five or six to move through the barrier. Continue on towards the gold quest marker, or go down the other side tunnel for some stuff. Watch out for the spores, but by this point, they shouldn't be doing much damage to you. Now you're on Cliffside Path, where there are tons more undead for you to kill. Another circle with a barrier, and more Undead to kill, and now you're in the Underground Passage. Here you'll fight Bargate Prison Guards, quite a bit harder than the Guards you've seen before. Again, go through the gold Quest marker, and you find yourself in the Torture Chamber. Hey, it's your mom! This quest is almost over, yay! Pull the lever to the right of the door, and your mother starts following you. Go back out the way you came, killing Guards in the Underground Passage, and when you get down to that circle you're fre-oh, crap. Jack of Blades decides to put the kibosh on this little party. So now you're in a jail cell, and all you've got are your expressions and some Resurrection Phials. No, you can't do anything. Listen to the guy in the cell next to you for a while, then the Guard comes back. Now you're having a race. Make sure to win, it's not very hard, just keep running, and you can also use the shortcut, the wooden inside track. After you win, you'll be greeted by the Warden. Poetry reading? Oh no...Now don't make the noise bar go all the way up, be very careful about it. Stop and start a lot, and don't run (but be sure to get over there and back quick enough). Make your way around the bookcase to the bulletin board, and highlight the paper on it. Open one of the diaries on the table back a ways behind the Warden, and check for the key. It doesn't matter which one you choose, it won't be in there. Back to the cells. You're in jail for a whole year again. Hey, you've grown some hair. Well now, it's the Warden's birthday, and then it's back to the race. Win again, and repeat the diary trick. The second time's a charm - you'll find the key to the cells. The Guards'll say the stuff in the cutscene, no torture or anything today, bla bla. Take the key and get out of your cell, and be sure to free the other guys. You'll get some good points, and they serve as a nice diversion for the Guards. Now head outside, and up the first flight of stairs that you went up in the race. Outrun the Guards, and head into the door on your right, the Prison Barracks. Loot the chests for a full suit of Guard Armor, then finally go to the chest at the end for all of your stuff. Get back into your garb, and fight the Guard that just appeared. Meet back up with your prison buddies in the Courtyard, and head over to the Torture Chamber (marked by a gold Quest Marker, as always), let your mom out, and head into the Underground Passage. Fight the Guards, keep your mom alive, and get through back to the Cliffside Path. Fight some Undead, and go to the Underground Tunnel again. Fight through Guards now, and get out into the Underground Chamber. And now...boss fight! Keep an eye on your mom's health as you fight the Kraken, heal her if needed. To defeat the Kraken, move around the edges, and wait for one of the tentacles to get stuck on the edge for a few seconds. You need to hit each tentacle (probably twice, but it depends on your weapon and Physique) until they're all submerged, and the head comes out. Beat up on the head until it gets about half-dead, then the tentacles come back out. Repeat the last two steps, gather up the experience, and get out of there. Now you've met your mom, so continue on with all this stuff. You've got to find your sister, keep her safe from Jack, but for now, get some experience leveling up and get some rest. Congratulations on finishing up one of Fable's longest quests. :-:Gold: 110 :---Exp: 47735 :Renown: 606 :-Other: Kraken Tooth :--1.19 - Gateway to Hook Coast -: Cullis Gate on down to Barrow Fields, and then go through the Darkwood Weir to the Ancient Cullis Gate. Kill the Undead that spawn, until the bar is filled up. The Cullis Gate now works. The cutscene will play, and now you find yourself in Hook Coast. Not a bad place, it's got a tavern with an easy game, and a few shops, a house for sale...when you're ready, simply go up to the gold Quest Marker, the Ruined Abbey, watch the little cutscene and you're done in Hook Coast. Go back to the Guild, and you'll start to hear signs of struggle...oh noes, your mom is getting taken by Jack's Minions. Take the book from the stand, and this quest is over, albeit badly. Speak to the Guildmaster for your next quest. :-:Gold: 11933 :---Exp: 5879 :Renown: 1358 :-Other: none :--1.20 - Return to Hook Coast -: You will want to finish up some of your other quests before this, since this is pretty much the beginning of the end. Head on over to Hook Coast by the Cullis Gate again. The villagers are running from here with good reason, there's a Screamer loose, and it doesn't die, it just keeps coming back. Ignore her, and go up to the Abbey. Wait as the Guildmaster begins to recite the incantation. The barrier comes down, and, oh that bastard, it's Maze trying to kill your sister. Well, Maze is pretty difficult to beat. He's got a couple of nasty spells, it's a good idea to use your bow on him when he's not using Physical Shield. And as always, it's a good idea to use Infernal Wrath/Divine Fury. Follow the gold Quest Marker to see where he is, and ignore the Screamers again. Avoid the Enflame and Lightning spells of his, and try to make him use his staff, it's a very weak attack. Now you're informed that Jack is activating all the Focus Sites around Albion. Well, this part is done. Continuing on... :-:Gold: 16000 :---Exp: 3982 :Renown: 1988 :-Other: Maze's Clasp :--1.21 - Try to Stop Jack of Blades -: After the previous Quest, return to the Guild. The Guildmaster informs you about Jack doing all kinds of evil stuff. Go through the Cullis Gate, and it takes you to the Witchwood Cullis Gate, to meet up with Briar Rose, and start killing Minions and Undead. It doesn't matter what you do, really, just get over to the Focus Site. See the Jack cutscene, and now you're in Orchard Farm. Get over to the Greatwood Lake, and repeat getting over to the Focus Site. Another cutscene, and you end up in the Hobbe Cave entrance. Get down to the Focus Site there, teaming up with Thunder at the end, and anooother cutscene. Really, is there a pattern? Now you're at Bowerstone Jail, and go over to the Gibbet Woods focus site, through Windmill Hill. One more cutscene and Focus Site, now with Jack having your mom to kill. Again, this part is done, for the final battle now... :-:Gold: 5230 :---Exp: 5072 :Renown: 1110 :-Other: none :--1.22 - Battle Jack of Blades -: Well, here it is. At least in the original Fable. So, the Guild is burning. Not exactly great. There's a Resurrection Phial up the stairs, and two Health Potions lying around. Use up your experience before heading into the Library. The Guildmaster's dying. He sends you into the Chamber of Fate, to defeat Jack. Go through the Guild Caves, there's an Oak Longbow if you need it, sitting there. Into the Chamber of Fate now...and Jack kills your mom. Wonderful. So, he's got the Sword of Aeons. Defeat all his Minions, then use one of a few techniques to defeat him. For people favoring melee, the best thing to do is hit him once with your normal attack, and then use Flourish to damage his health. For mages and archers, use your spells on him, just watch out and don't get hit. Now he goes into his second form, which is badass. Use ranged weapons and spells from afar, avoiding his now very spiffy attacks, and the Minions. Now you have a choice, depending on whether you are good or evil - cast the Sword into the vortex, and spare your sister, or kill your sister and keep the sword. In TLC the sword pretty much sucks compared to in the first one, so you may just want to toss it on in. Yay! Yer done. But it's not over. :-:Gold: 20140 :---Exp: 71210 :Renown: 4420 :-Other: Jack's Mask :--1.23 - The Prophets of the Fire Heart -: One year later... The Guildmaster tells you to come back to the Guild, to the Boasting platform. Bummer. Anyway, head on out there, and you will see Scythe, Briar Rose, and the Guildmaster. He talks about the Demon Door, Fire Prophets, Summoners, the Heart, and all that...So. Go to the Demon Door, and you will have to solve a few puzzles to get the Heart. Inside, listen to the various prophets, and you must turn all the tiles to the Sun to save them, or Moon to kill them. My advice is to work from the inside out, or the outside in - get a pattern in mind, figure out some tricks. Either way, get the Fire Heart, and come back out to Briar and the Guildmaster. You'll hear about the supposedly hidden weapon in the Guild, and Summoners. :-:Gold: 5000 :---Exp: none :Renown: 260 :-Other: Fire Heart Band :--1.24 - The Ship of the Drowned -: Head on up to Hook Coast. The town's been evacuated, so just head on up to the Lighthouse. Go alllll the way up, to the very top, by the 15-key chest, and highlight the stand that seems to have just the perfect place for the Heart. Briar's downstairs, and tells you about - "what the hell?" Here's your first look at a Summoner. The sword hits from Summoners are pretty painful, so be sure to watch out for those. Summoners are fairly straightforward though, so just keep hitting them with your attacks. You'll be joined by Minions, do your best to ignore them and destroy the Summoners. Now that the Fire Heart is safely in place, the Ghost Ship comes out of the water (pretty impressive, eh?). Briar will join you later. :-:Gold: 5110 :---Exp: 4398 :Renown: 1160 :-Other: Map to Lost Bay :--1.25 - The Oracle of Snowspire -: Scythe greets you once you reach the Lost Bay dock. Well, sort of Scythe. A hologram-type thing of Scythe. He tells you to meet him in Snowspire. You need to find the Oracle once there. As for actually getting there, though...A little ways up into the Lost Bay area, you'll run into an Ice Troll. Treat it like any other troll, but it's a lot harder. Big nasty thing. Watch out for the attacks where it beats on the ground. Head up into the Northern Foothills. Fight through Minions, another Ice troll, and get through to Archon's Shrine. Once in the center, Briar Rose greets you. She tells you pretty much nothing, so continue on to Snowspire. So, now you're here. It's a pretty cool place. Cutscene time! Here's where you finally really meet Scythe. You will need the four Glyphs to awaken the Oracle. Check out Snowspire, and when you're done, Cullis Gate down to The Lost Bay, or just walk down through Archon's Shrine. Either way, get to the Northern Foothills, and go up to the northern end, to the Necropolis. Upon entering, you'll get "greeted" by the guard. I can't help much here, but hey. For each of the glyphs, dig in the spots highlighted by the green dots, with the green glowiness over them. In some spots, there's tablets, in some spots, there's not. Just look through them all, cause you can get some random nice loot from the spots without tablets. It may be a little confusing, |
