If there are no mistakes e-mailed to me, then I will finalize it in about a month. 04/22/2007 Version 1.20 - Fixed some faulty information. Fixed some spelling mistakes. I also removed some armor and weapons that didn't really fit into the profile of a Mage. 04/07/2007 Version 1.10 - Already noticed some mistakes. Added the Contact Information section. Put the Book List in alphabetical order, and categorized them into the area they're located. 04/06/2007 Version 1.00 - The first version of the Walkthrough. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Legal FPMLI =============================================================================== This may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use. You can contact me at mgtonvac55@aim.com ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ The Challenge FPMTC =============================================================================== The challenge I am bestowing upon you, should you choose to accept, is to get through the Fable: The Lost Chapters game as you normally would, but with your character being a Pure Mage. This means that you can only spend the experience you get in the magical portion of the level system, only use weapons and armor that a mage would use. That is simple, yes? Well, yes and no. You could still use weapons, but only certain ones, and you can't level up strength so they will be useless in the end game. You can't use bows at all (except to open a Demon Door and get a Silver Key). And you can only use magical armor. With that being said, you should be warned that at the end of the game, certain Bosses will bite your head off, metaphorically speaking of course. You will not be able to level up your Health, so you will have the tiniest amount of Health that the game gives you at the beginning. Now, there is nothing stopping you from drinking the Elixirs of Life that you find around Albion. I have done it both ways, and without the potions, the true final Boss will kill you in one shot should you be caught off guard. So the potions do help, but you don’t have to take them if you want the extra challenge. I will list where to find them all anyway, so no worry. Now, there is nothing wrong with drinking the Willmaster's Elixirs! They will increase your Mana, making you cast more spells without having to refill your meter with potions. Grab them all and drink them as soon as you can. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ How to Complete Said Challenge FPMFU =============================================================================== Beat the game using only the armor and weapons listed in this guide; only spend your experience in the magic area. Other than that, there is really nothing to it. I will list a few tips. Get the Treasure Clues as soon as you can get them, so that you can get the Frying Pan. To find them all, look in the section entitled: Mana Augmentations/ Frying Pan. Don’t use it when you get it though, because the ideal thing to do is to put 5 Mana Augmentations on it. But you have to do it in one shot or else you will lose the 5th slot. So wait until you have five Mana Augmentations. You won't have five until you reach the Northern Wastes, so some people might be put off by that. It's annoying that you can't get all the Augmentations sooner, but it just adds more of a challenge. Food: I suggest eating only fish and either tofu or crunchy chicks for your Alignment. If you eat meat and carrots, they will give you experience in areas you can't level up, so stay away from them. Apples and other healthy things are fine too. Beer is also fine ;) Don’t sell your Resurrection Phials. You will need ALL of them in the end game so don’t sell them off or waste them early. You will need nine of them in the tough Boss Battles so make sure you have them. Some are scattered about Albion, but since they can be bought in stores, I will not list there locations. Only use the weapons and armor listed in their respective sections. A mage would not use Long Swords or Axes in battle. And they would not use Chainmail or any type of Heavy Armor. They would use robes or something of that nature. Find all the Will Master's Elixirs as soon as you can and drink them. Mana will be your only defense and your main way of attacking, so make sure you max it out as soon as possible. Buy as many Will Potions as possible. You will be using Mana faster than you have ever used it before, so make sure you have the means to restore it when you run out. You will spend a lot of gold on these potions so save up. You will find yourself buying out entire stocks before you set out to a tough battle, so lacking of funds will be troublesome. And finally - in battle, try to only use magic. You can use your melee weapon, but you will lose valuable experience this way. Check out the specific weapons you can use and which you can't. You also should level up the Enflame, Physical Shield, Slow Time, and Lighting spells to the max as early as possible in the game. And do it in that order. Enflame will be your most trusty and useful spell. It will save you many a time from certain doom. Physical Shield will save you from taking damage to your little Health bar and convert it to your mana instead. You will go through Will potions more quickly, but you will not die - so I think that's a fair trade-off. Slow Time will help you in the end game, so don’t even think about taking on the first final Boss without having this maxed out. I put Lighting there, to have an offensive spell other than Enflame, but you don’t really need it. If you want something else like Fireball go right ahead and do it. Now these spells are not the only ones in the game you will use. They're just the ones you will use most often and should max out before purchasing any other spell. After you max these out, start leveling up and maxing out other spells in the order you think is best. They will not be as useful as these, so it doesn't really matter. Another objective of yours is to max every spell out, which will make your character have glowing runic tattoos all over his body. Kind of like Maze's, but not as bright nor as cool. More spells also make your hands glow really bright which is pretty cool. You don’t have to level up every spell though, if you want to stay young. But you could also do the Fountain of Youth glitch >_> And that's pretty much all the guidelines I can give you. Look in the sections below for more specifics and enjoy the challenge! ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Will Master's Elixirs FPMWM =============================================================================== This is a list of what should be all of the Will Masters Elixir's in Albion. You can never have enough Mana, especially being a Pure Mage, so make sure to grab as many of these as you can. Greatwood Entrance - There is a treasure chest on the west end of the area. Open it to find the Will Master's Elixir. Cave Larder - In the Hobbe Cave, enter the second door you come to which will be on your left. Inside this cave larder will be Hobbes and a five Silver Key Chest. Open the chest for an Elixir. Barrow Fields - Talk to the Demon Door in this area and he will command you to be as fat as possible, and only then will he let you in. So go to the tavern in Oakvale and buy as much meat and beer as you can and stuff your face. Once you are Obese, talk to the Demon Door again and he should let you in. Open the chest which will contain an Elixir. Gray House - Once you get in the cellar, open the treasure chest for the Will Masters Elixir. Witchwood Lake - Fish by the ripples in the pond to get an Elixir. Archon's Shrine - There are two sets of ripples in the area - one of them will yield a Will Master's Elixir. And that's that. That should be all of the Will Master's Elixirs in the game. Please E-mail me if there are any missing from that list. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Elixirs of Life FPMEL =============================================================================== This is a list of what should be all of the Elixirs of Life in Albion. To make life easier, find these as soon as you can get to them. I will be listing these by the areas they are in and in the order you're supposed to go to those areas. Heroes' Guild - Talk to the Demon Door with your lamp lit and he will open for you. Open the chest by the book case to get the Elixir of Life. Orchard Farm - Fish in the water by the farmhouse to get the Elixir. Greatwood Lake - Open the five Silver Key Chest to find the Elixir inside. Knothole Glade - Shoot the Demon Door between the eyes with an arrow so he can open up. Open the chest inside for the Elixir. The Lost Bay - Fish by the ripples in the water to fish out another Elixir. Archon's Shrine - There are two sets of ripples in the water here. One of them will contain an Elixir of Life. And that concludes the list of Elixirs of Life. It’s a short list, I know. You will just have to face the fact that you will not have much Health. You might as well not look for them in the first place to make it more of a challenge. E-mail me by following the guidelines if I have missed anything, please. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Weapons FPMMW =============================================================================== Stick Frying Pan Maces That's it. Those are all the melee weapons you could use. The stick which you're given by the Guildmaser, the Frying Pan which you can obtain by finding all the Treasure Clues and figuring out where it's hidden, and any Mace you can find or purchase. As for Bows and Crossbows: YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEM! That's right. You're not allowed to use bows as a method for battling things. You could hold one just for fun and use it for Demon Doors and other areas which you need to use it, but not for battle. Mages do not use bows! That being said, it's ok to Augment them and have them equiped the entire time. So long as they're not used, it's ok to equip them with some augmentations. So, to recap: No Bows, no Longswords, no Heavy Weapons, etc. Only use Maces and the Frying Pan. However, you can Augment Bows as long as you don't use them. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Armor FPMWR =============================================================================== Armor is simple. Wear only Wizard Robes and things of that nature. The list that follows is all that you should be wearing in the game: Apprentice Robes Hooded Apprentice Robes Will User Robes Bright Will User Robes Dark Will User Robes Dresses... Bright Wizard Hat Dark Wizard Hat And either the Pimp Hat or Chicken hat or something silly...if you must. You should not be wearing anything else other than what's on this list unless you're doing it for a quest or a Demon Door or something. The first two sets of clothing are given to you by the Guildmaster. I will list how to get the Will User Robes and the Wizard Hats in their respective sections below. Dresses can be bought in most clothing stores. And the pimp hat is given to you for having sex 10 times. Talk to the Demon Door in the Bordello in Darkwood for that. And the Chicken Hat is given to you for winning at the Chicken Kicking Competition in Oakvale. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Mana Augmentations/Frying Pan FPMMF =============================================================================== First: The Frying Pan. You need to get all the Treasure Clues, then dig for the Pan. Here is how to get the clues: o---===---===---===---===---===---===---o Treasure Clues o---===---===---===---===---===---===---o There are six treasure clues in Albion. Collect them all and they will point you to some buried treasure. Clue 1 - Given to you as a reward for the Bounty Hunt quest. Clue 2 - Given to you for doing the Lost Traders quest. Clue 3 - The last assassin you kill in the Assassin Attacks quest will drop it. Clue 4 - Participate in the Knothole Glade Archery Competition. Clue 5 - Search the western side of Orchard Farm for a chest. A clue is inside. Clue 6 - Windmill Hill, behind the windmill in a chest. Once you get all six clues, you should be able to decipher them and learn the location of the treasure. If you can't decipher them, then look below for the location of the treasure and what it is. Remember, you need all of the clues or else the treasure will be useless. ****Spoilers**** The treasure is...a frying pan! Yes, but not just any ordinary frying pan. No, no, this one has 4-5 Augmentation slots. The reason I say 4-5 is because the 5th one is hidden. You can only access it while placing the other Augmentations on the pan, which means you must place 5 at once, not 3 and then go back for the other two, because the fifth one will be gone. You only have one chance at it, so don’t mess up. If you can't find the pan, I will have to tell you, I guess. It's in Orchard Farm. Dig between the Barn and two piles of Hay. Dig around there until you get a message that says you found the treasure. Remember, have all 5 and put them on at the same time, or else you will never get the 5th slot again. ---- Now, for Treasure Clue 3. You may not know where all the assassins are, so here is the assassin attacks quest. The final assassin you kill will drop it: o---===---===---===---===---===---===---o Assassin Attacks Quest o---===---===---===---===---===---===---o Towards the end of the game, this quest will be unlocked. The start of the quest is in Knothole Glade. Twindblade's Assassins are after you, and it's your job to kill them off. The locations of the Assassins are as follows: --- Knothole Glade. Up the path across demon door. Kill the Assassin for a Doll of You. --- Witchwood Cullis Gate. Walk around the Focus Stone and he should come out and try to attack you. --- Windmill Hill. You guessed it, by the windmill. --- On the prison path. Just walk the length of it and he will show up. --- Hook Coast near the Focus Stone. If this be your last one, then he will drop the third Treasure Clue. --- After you get all the Treasure Clues, you could dig up the Pan. Don’t start the augmenting until you have all 5 Mana Augmentations though. There are two in the original part of Albion, one in a chest in the Northern Waste, and the other two can be purchased in Snowspire. Here are the locations of the two in the original part of Albion. In the silver key chest when you are fighting Thunder during the Mary Lady Grey quest. This is the only way you can get this one, so you will be stuck doing it this way, instead of turning Lady Grey in. Oh well, at least you got a nice sum of gold for selling your soul. And a Mana Augmentation too! The other one can be purchased from one of the shops in Hook Coast for lots of gold. And you can't get anymore until you reach the Northern Wastes. There is one in a chest in the Necropolis and the other two can be purchased in Snowspire. Go to the weapon shop there and buy one, rest the number of days needed and buy the other one. Once you have all five, augment them all at once on the Frying Pan and you shouldn't worry about using as many Will potions anymore. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Will User Robes FPMWU =============================================================================== There are three sets of Will User Robes and I will list how to get them in this section. These Robes are said to enhance magical power, but I think that's not so true. They may not make spells stronger, but maybe they provide you with more magical protection, so you take less damage. Who knows? Will User Robes - These Robes are Neutral, so they won't effect your alignment. They do the same things that the other robes do though. You can buy them in the Oakvale Clothing/Armor shop. Bright Will User Robes - Go to the nearest shop and buy a gift. Any gift will do. Next make your way by whatever means to the Small Cottage in Greatwood. DO NOT TALK to the Demon Door, but give the gift to him by setting it to one of your shortcuts. Give it to him without talking and he will be happy that he got a gift without having to ask for it and will let you in. Open the chest in this area for a set of Bright Will User Robes. These will boost your alignment to the good side. Dark Will User Robes - Look for a Demon Door in Darkwood and talk to it. He will summon a bunch of Hobbes on you. Defeat all of them and the door will open up. Open the chest for a set of Dark Will User Robes. This set boosts your alignment to the evil side. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Bright/Dark Wizard Hats FPMWH =============================================================================== You can either get a Bright or Dark Wizard's hat, but not both. To do it, talk to the teacher in the school and he will ask you to donate books to the school. Now, in order to get the Bright Wizard Hat, you can donate about six "good" books only. To get the Dark Wizard Hat, you can donate about six "evil" books only. Here is a list of all the books you need to donate: These Books are all located in the Guild: A Love Story Creatures of Albion Book 1 Creatures of Albion Book 2 Creatures of Albion Book 3 Jack Of Blades Making Friends The Arena The Dragon The Northern Wastes The Old Kingdom The Other Land The Pale Balverine The Tale of Maxley The Tale of Twinblade These Books are located in Bowerstone South. Search in all of the bookshelves in peoples houses: Eyes of a Killer The Guild Of Zeroes The Repentant Alchemist Windbreaker's Rule Book You Are Not a Bad Person This one is in Bowerstone North: The Tailor's Tragedy These are in Oakvale. Again, search in bookshelves. The Oakvale Raid The Sock Method The Trials of Aarkan The Ugly Guide This one is located in Knothole Glade: The Balverine Slayer All the books from the Guild are "good", so just donate all the ones from the Guild to get the Bright Wizard Hat. Here are some of "Evil" books that you should donate for the Dark Hat: -Windbreaker's Rule Book -The Guild of Zeros -Eyes of a Killer -The Sock Method -The Ugly Guide -You Are Not A Bad Person Tip: In order to get the Teacher to take the evil books, you must have no good books in your inventory. If you do have some good books in your inventory, then you could sell them to the General Shop in Oakvale. They will buy most books off your hands, so this makes it easier to get the Dark Wizard Hat. ________ / Fable \=================================================================== / The Lost \ / Chapters \ Credits FPMKA =============================================================================== I would like to thank myself - I did the work, so I deserve some praise.
