INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome. This faq is designed to help aid you as you roam the street
on Need For Speed: Most Wanted.
This is my first faq I have written and I hope that it will help you. Please
E-Mail me with any problems or missunderstandins and i will happily fix the
problem.

At this time if you are'nt sure about the simplest bits of the HUD
(Heads-Up-Display) GET USED TO IT! This will give you a fair example on how to
use it but its still up to you to do the split second thinking required in this
game.

(1)________ Global Positioning System ( GPS )

By now you should know about the GPS.
The GPS allows you to see the road up ahead, to the left, to the right and
behind you. Plan a route and stick to it and try all the tricks. This is the
most important thing to use but if you want to get a more precise route press
the right trigger to "zoom in" on the roads. This also show pursuit Breakers
(see  (3) Attack)and when your in the Cool-Down stage (see
(4) Hiding) it shows the hiding spots to best evade the cops.

(2)________ Pursuit Level indicator & Heat Level
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This meter is wrapped around your Mini-Map and shows your current Heat Level.
The flame-like icon with the number beside it is your HEAT LEVEL (1-5). And
the black bar wrapped around the Mini-Map is how long you have until you have
reached the next heat level (it changes to orange and then it flashes white
and orange when you are close to the next heat level).

(3)________ NOS (Nitros Oxide) Meter
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOS. The most valuable part of any street racing game! For quick speed boosts
or just to leave your oponents further behind you. Dont bother saving this
powerful magic liquid for the last lap as it refills when you travel at speed.
But that doesnt mean you can just use it all on the first 30 seconds of a
pursuit! Use it on 3 occasions: 1)If you need to! No point in useing it if
you are busted after a horrific crash into a truck. 2) if you are way
infront use it get as far ahead as you can! 3) After a VERY sharp turn.
These pop up out of nowhere and if your caught off gaurd it might cost you
the loss of a car.

(4)________ Cop Radar

The Cop Radar is the bar/meter at the top of the HUD. It detects Cops and
Speed cameras which is quite usful for 2 reasons: In a Speedtrap Race you are
able to detect the upcoming cameras and you have time to hit the NOS. When
a Cop or Speed Camera is coming up it will begin to pulse (GREEN for a Cop,
ORANGE for a Speed Camera). A small arrow will point in the direction of the
Cop or Camera. The faster the Bar pulses the closer the Cop or Camera is.

(5)________ Speedbreaker Meter (NEW ADDITION TO NFS)

The Speedbreaker is the ace up your sleeve against the Cops. It drasticaly
slows down time and dramaticaly increases the handling of your car. Be care-
ful though because if you turn too sharply you will spin out. This gadget is
useful for sharp turns and Roadblock, Roadspikes and to avoid crashing! When
you activate this, an orange bar will appear and all the gauges and timers
will dissappear. This bar will decrease showing you how much time of
Speedbreaker you have left. The bar is visable above your Speedometer (Speed
-Indicator) and it will replenish as you go over 100 MPH.

(6)________ Pursuit Condition Meter

The Pursuit Condition Meter will appear when you enter a pursuit. It shows
how close you are to escaping or losing a pursuit. It has 2 stages: In The
Pursuit and The Cooldown. In the pursuit it looks like this:

When the bar gets closer to BUSTED It will flash RED. If you are close to
EVADE it will flash GREEN. [Trade Paint, Cops in Pursuit and Imobalized Cop
Cars all appear as Numbers.]

(7)________ Milestone Targets
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The milestone Targets Bar shows in a pursuit. It is at the top left hand
corner below the pursuit length timer. They are your milestones towards
versing your Blacklist rivals. They are sometimes TRADE PAINT or SPIKESTRIP
EVADE. You can see them when you push Blacklist on the D-Pad (DOWN).

THE COP CARS & TACTICS [-TCC&T-]

The Cops have there plans to get you this section will show thier Tactics as
you progress through the game. The level of difficulty in a pursuit is
measured in HEATS (Heat level 1-5 [6 at the end]). The cops use different
vehicles and Road Blockage Tactics. I have broken each level into two parts:
1: If you want to EVADE the Cops.
2: If you want to ANNOY the Cops.
They wil use all the tactics in the Heat Levels BEFORE.
eg.If you are on level 4 they will still use SUV's.
if your on level 5 they will still use Spike Strips.
level 7 is sercet, your have to found out about it.

LOCAL INVOLVEMENT
CAR USED BY POlICE: Standard Police Cruiser (Crown Victorias) Max=5
\/EVADE\/:
Heat level 1 is realy a pushover if you've got a fast car furhter on in the
game. My tip for this pursuit is DONT LET THE ACCELERATION STOP. The Cops
probably won't be able to keep up and you will easily Evade them.
\/ANNOY\/:
There is'nt much to annoy realy because you will only have a maximum
of 5 Cops after you but leveling up is quick as long as you keep smashing the
Cop cars into wall and side-on.

(2)________ Heat Level 2

LOCAL INVOLVEMENT
CAR USED BY POLICE: Undercover Police Cruiser Max=10
\/EVADE\/:
This is obviously tougher than before but still no real challenge if you're
far into the game. They will try and ram you a little and the cars are faster
but its still fairly easy. The Cops will use 2 new tactics though:
THE ROLLING ROADBLOCK - 2 or 3 Cops will get infront of you and try to stay
infront. To get out of it hit between the cars Boots (or Trunk if you're
american :) or as soon as you see them trying to get past HIT NOS!
THE ROADBLOCK - This is when Cops will align there cars across the road (full
or partialy). These can be realy annoying if you are goin over a hil and 1
pops up infront of you. To Evade them use the SPEEDBREAKER. Try and aim for
the Boot (or Trunk if you're american). If you can't Aim for a single car
either at the front (for trade paint) or Side (for IMOBILIZATION).
\/ANNOY\/:
To realy Tick these guys off just hit 'em and run. Get through the roadblocks
and hit their cars and you will be on Heat Level 3 in no-time.

STATE INVOLVEMENT
CAR USED BY POLICE: Pontiac GTO Police Cruiser Max=15
\/EVADE\/:
This is when things become serious even if you are far on in the game it's
still a problem -just because of a few things- The Cop Cars are faster and
harder to Imobilize. They also have a new tactic:
THE SUV - They start using SUV's (sports utility vechiles) to come up infront
of you and ram you head on. This is realy hard because they "SUDDENLY" appear
out of nowhere! The best thing to do is to use the SpeedBreaker and try to
dodge them.
\/ANNOY\/: Baisicaly hit them and dodge there SUV's until you have reached the
next Heat Level. But DON'T let your gaurd down for a secon you might not see
the full Roadblock up ahead!

STATE INVOLVEMENT
CAR USED BY POLICE: Pontiac GTO Undercover Cruiser Max=20
\/EVADE\/:
Now its the big one. This is no joke, from now on its 100% focus on
EVERYTHING. This one will use Spike Strips and a Police Helicopter. These each
make it much harder.
Spike Strip - These are hollow spikes which will now be part of every
Roadblock. They will end a pursuit almost instantly so be very careful. Your
Speedbreaker is your biggest advantage heer. They can be deployed by a single
Cop Car or be a part of a Full Roadblock. Aim for the Car that is furthest
away from the Spike Strip to avoid accidently running over them.
Police Helicopter - This is an Arial PAIN IN THE BUTT! It will constantly be
Flying over you and the only way to shake it off is to hold it off until it
runs out of fuel. Once its run out of fuel, you can now try to escape the
Cops.
\/ANNOY\/:
To annoy these lot isnt hard all you have to do is hold them off. They will
ram you giving you Trade Paints and if the helecopter goes away just wait
until another comes because you can't flee a pursuit if a helecopter is on
you.

FEDERAL INVOLVEMENT
CAR USED BY POLICE: Chevrolet Corvette C6 Police Cruiser Max=25
\/EVADE\/:
This is it, YOUR WORST FEAR. Cross's elite squad. All the Cop Cars are done up
C6's equiped with NOS. They can easily keep up with even the fastest on the
Blacklist. You wont be able to outrun these unless you cause a MEGA BIG CAR
CRASH and stop them dead in their tracks. Roadblocks will now be reinforced
with Heavy SUV's and the Police Helicopter will DIVE and attempt to hit your
car!
\/ANNOY\/:
I DONT HAVE A CLUE WHY YOU WOULD WANT TO AGRIVATE THE COPS ANYMORE ITS SUICIDE
JUST TRYING TO STAY ALIVE AT THIS LEVEL. But if you want to jst hit them,
run and hit 'em some more. Make sure you dont lose focus out there. 1 Mistake
and its ALL OVER!

HINT: Keep an eye out for Sgt. Cross's C6 in Roadblocks. Smashing him will
give a BIG boost to your Bounty!

This is personal. Not alot of Cops will want you, ONLY THE ENTIRE USA WANTS
YOU!!! Cross wants you taken out
of his life for good, and has called police from all over Rockport to take
you out. This is the hardest part of the game. There is no means of escape for
the 1st 5 minutes of this pursuit and only after you get a call from Mia can
you escape by fleeing the city VIA The Old Bridge. The Old Bridge is in Rose-
wood at the west(
