you need a 100%compleate game then use the abab cheat. go to the phone and press y then
press r or l. [you dummy]

There is no monster truck in level 1! There is one in level 5 (apu's level) near stadium
however if you complete game 100% you can use the cheat "any car in any level" so in the
pc version is hold f1 and enter cheat up down up down in options in pause menu (for me in
options menu of game's main menu crashes). (i don't know cheat for gamecube or ps3, you
will have to find it). Once you are done go to phone booth and press f2. It will show full
car list. Select from there monster truck. You can now use monster truck (and other cars
too) in any level you want! Combine it with cheats: invincible car and 1 hit destroys cars
and you will have a lot of fun!
Maybe you just saw on youtube videos using lucas tweak which lets you modify more game
content but i prefer using game's cheats! Sorry my bad english. Hope it helped!

There is no monster truck in level 1, there is a rocket car. The monster truck is in level
5.
