Arching Place (need climbing gloves): To get to this place you require climbing gloves, When Auldale loads, go to the place the picture shows... Look at the archway near the stairs leading down... look at what's on top...! Go to side of the archway where that cart thing is and climb up the wall next to it. then shimmy along and drop when you are directly above The archway. you will be able to jump from side to side when you are up there, take note... this is USELESS against archers... do not try if archer is after you!

A place to muck about (and glitch up TDS): (requires climbing gloves again):
Ok... this is easy all you need to do is go outside the door of fogerty's gold smithery
nearby, around the corner (where the path leading down to the exit of auldale is) there is loads of flowers and grass and a statue, turn your back to the statue and you see a wall, climb up that wall and you have a huge spacious place to muck about in.

Old Quarter

Thieves highway (rooftops): If you have finished the cradle mission you will have been here, But maybe you dont know how to get back? Ok its simple. Go to the place where your fence was supposed to be but is dead... there will be stairs.. run up the stairs backwards and stop when you see that sort of thing that shops have (an awning) and jump and climb up onto that you will now be looking at a gap in some rooftops jump and land on there and you are on thieves highway.... It is brilliant for hiding and at the end there is a little hideout room you can stop in for safety!

The Tavern getaway: This is brilliantly easy... So... some guards after you coz u killed some people? Retreat to the tavern... go run through to the door that u have to pick lock to get in where no one is aloud... (door must already be picklocked or you are screwed) and to your left theres a cupboard jump on it and there is a hole in the wall crawl through and come out the other end, jump over to the pipe and then make is safely down and the guards will still be in the tavern wondering where clever you went!

If you shoot a moss arrow at the ground it creates moss so you don't
make a noise while crossing the pad. If the moss doesn't reach the
whole way across you can shoot a water arrow at it and it'll become
longer.

If you drop an oil jar in front of a doorway or a narrow path so it
covers the whole way, then lure an enemy towards you so when he's
rushing you can set the oil on fire with a fire arrow. When that
happens the enemy is killed almost instantly.

If you need to take out a guard but cant get behind him, and don't
want to take him out in regular combat you can just hide in the
shadows and shoot him in the head with a broad head arrow.

If you've fought undead (like in the Abysmal Gale) you'll know it
takes at least five arrows in the chest before they die (and sometimes
it doesn't even kill them) or it'll take however many knife hits,
there is an easy way to kill them. (besides holy water) You can throw
a flash bang and that will not only blind them but take away half
their life. Another flash will finish the job or you can engage in
combat, which is now far easier for the zombie has been reduced to a
regular human's life or less.

If multiple undead or Hammer Haunts are on a floor, toss down a Holy Water into a doorway. Then, lure the undead to chase you and run across the holy water. The undead will follow, killing themselves on the Holy Water. This is a good way to conserve Holy Waters.

Getting to the sunken Citadel in the docks:
Go towards the store when you first arrive at the docks. Immediately after
you have passed the quarantine gate stop and destroy the box which is in
front of you. After you have gone down the ladder follow the stairs.
Defeating Keeper Guards:
To defeat the Keeper Guards use a mine or if sniping hit them in the back of the head. The Blackjack has no effect on them.
Defeating Zombies:
A single Flashbomb will kill a Zombie if it is unaware of you but if it is
aware you will need Flashbombs to defeat it.
Defeating the Undead:
Defeat multiple Hammer Haunts or undead on a floor by throwing Holy water into a doorway then luring them after you so when they run across the Holy water it will kill them.

Although shadows are important to hide Garrett, sometimes it can too dark to see while hiding. Crank up the Gamma/Brightness correction in your options menu to see the surroundings while remaining hidden.

Gear and items are bought to be used in Thief 3. Don't go to great lengths to save items if you think they can help you stay alive and undiscovered, but don't waste them on lone guards or civilians who cannot fight back.

On normal, the maximum gear Garrett may carry is:
Health Potion = 10
Broadhead arrows = 30
Noisemakers = 5
Water Arrows = 25
Moss Arrows = 20
Gas Arrows = 5
Fire Arrows = 15
Flash Bombs = 20
Explosive Mine = 5
Gas Bomb = 5
Oil Flask = 5

If Garrett proceeds to pick up another item when he is at maximum capacity, the item is "picked up" but is not added to the inventory. Be sure you have room before you start grabbing items or you're just wasting hard earned loot!
