It was my call to the gaming world; This guide is my tribute back to the gaming community, to you, and to Rare/Nintendo. Thank you everyone. ^_^ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game Overview [IntroB1] Welcome to the game guide for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. This game is about a Bear, a Bird, and a Witch. If you've ever played the original Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie then you'll have a basic understanding of the defining plot behind the game; It is not necessary to play the previous games to complete this game; however, it does help a player understand the plot in much more detail. The plot for this game takes place ten years after the events of Banjo -Tooie. Banjo and Kazooie have become fat, pizza eating slobs. Grunty's head digs her way back to Spiral Mountain. The trio, all handicapped, decide to battle it out once more, only to be interrupted by the Lord of Games (L.O.G.). L.O.G. says what he needs to say, some story events happen, and you then find yourself in Showdown Town. The rest of the story is yours to find out. ----------------- |The game basics| ----------------- A to jump, Y to board your vehicle, X to interact or attack, and Right Trigger to interact with objects using your magic wrench. The magical wrench is given to you at the beginning of your exploration in Showdown Town. It can grab just about anything in the game and toss it around; It can put things in your tray; It can attack using X; It's basically an all-purpose tool - like a Swiss army knife. When in your vehicle, you will have a few gauges showing in your screen. In the lower left will be your Fuel Gauge and Ammo Gauge. In the lower right will be your Map, and in the upper right will be your Weapon/Gadget buttons; When you have special features added to your vehicle, you can choose to have up to three active ones saved to hotkeys (X, A, and B). To set these, use the Left, Right, and Down on your D-Pad to cycle through each of them and choose which you would like. When driving, right trigger is acceleration, left trigger is your brake; That applies to planes and helicopters as well - if you need to land, just hold the left trigger. ------------------ |Collecting Items| ------------------ Notes Notes and used for currency and nothing else. You find notes all over in this game. You can use notes to buy Blueprints from Humba, to buy Parts from Humba, to buy Smuggled Jiggy's from Jolly Dodger, to buy Gym Upgrades, to buy Tower Combinations, to buy Bottles' Hints, and to Bribe the Police. Be warned right now, the number of notes you can find is finite (5,230), while the police can continuously be bribed. You can effectively waste all of your notes bribing the police (a pointless task) and have Zero notes left to buy parts, Jiggys, blueprints, or anything. So long as you purchase no more than 1 Small Bribe, 1 Medium Bribe, and 1 Large Bribe, you will have enough notes to buy literally everything in the entire game if you collect all 5,230 notes. If you do not bribe the police at all, you will have 9 notes left over. Here is a list of where all of the notes in the game are and how to obtain them: 1,900 Finable in all worlds (900 in Showdown Town, 200 in all other worlds) 0,200 Nutty Acres Challenge Notes 0,170 Logbox 720 Challenge Notes 0,180 Banjoland Challenge Notes 0,160 The Jiggosseum Challenge Notes 0,190 Terrarium of Terror Challenge Notes 0,070 Spiral Mountain Challenge Notes 1,250 Jinjo Bingo 0,405 Jinjo Rescue 0,405 Minjo Capture 0,300 Klungo’s Arcade Jiggys Jiggys are used as a means to open new Act Doors in each world. The more you collect, the more doors you can enter. There are a few ways to earn Jiggys in the game. The first are foremost way is to win a challenge inside a gameworld. Another way is to earn four trophies. This will be discussed in a moment. You can also buy five Jiggys from Jolly Dodger and find five Jiggys from Tampered Jiggy Dispensers. The locations of all of these are listed below in their respective sections. Earning all 131 Jiggys grants you a Gamerpic. Woo! When you obtain 13 Jiggys, Piklet sends out the troops to pester you and knock away Jiggys. The second batch of police come out when you have 26. You could bribe Piklet to keep the police at bay and leave you alone while you transport Jiggys to Town Central, but it's just as easy to avoid them. When you obtain a Jiggy in each world, you must get it out of the world by the means of a Jiggy Dispenser. Each one is located in Showdown Town near the Act Doors of it's respective world. X to grab the switch and out pops a Jiggy. Take it to the Jiggy Container in the very middle of Showdown Town to add it to your total Jiggy Count. Trophies In each challenge throughout the game, there are three levels of prizes. The first is Notes, the second is a Jiggy, and the third is a Trophy. If you prove yourself a great gamer and win a trophy, Trophy Thomas adds 1 to your trophy score. For every four trophies you earn, Trophy Thomas will add 1` Jiggy to the Jiggy Dispenser (Yes, I know they are called Jig-O-Vends, shush) which is next to him. Jinjo Tokens Complete a Jinjo's challenge in any world and you'll get a Jinjo Token. Each color gives you his color of Jinjo Token. If you want to complete the Jinjo Bingo game, you've got to finish every Jinjo Challenge in the game. The Jinjos in Showdown Town do not give you Tokens, they give you notes. ---------------- |Mumbo's Motors| ---------------- This is where you can go to build a vehicle of your choice, modify a blueprint, or just have fun with everything at your disposal. ------------------------- |Humba's Blueprint Store| ------------------------- This is where you go to buy parts and blueprints. The more Jiggys you have, the more she will sell to you. -------- |Piklet| -------- This fat pig is the chief of police. Come talk to him if you want to bribe the police to leave you alone. Small Bribe -- Cost 1 - Time left alone: 0:45ish Medium Bribe - Cost 3 - Time left alone: 1:30ish Large Bribe -- Cost 5 - Time left alone: 3:30ish During the time you bribed for, you may transport Jiggys without hindrance from the police. You can even attack the police vehicles without any counterattack! How nice. I advise against bribing the police, though; It is a waste of notes which could be used to buy other precious items. ------------------- |Beginning Gameplay| ------------------- L.O.G. gives you the Nutty Acres Game Globe for free. Go on up to his tower from behind, going up the spiraling path to the top. Grab the globe and head back down to put it on the Plinth. Head into Act 1 and enjoy the game! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frequently Asked Questions [IntroB3] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 - How do I change my vehicle in Showdown town? A - You can't. L.O.G. can though. In each world there is one or two acts that contain a "Grunty Battle". Defeating her and getting the Jiggy Prize will upgrade your vehicle with the part she used in that battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 - What are the vehicle upgrades? Answer/List: Trolley MK. 1 = / Trolley MK. 2 = High Grip (Allows friction on steep hilles) Trolley MK. 3 = Floater (Allows floatation in water) Trolley MK. 4 = Spring (Allows jumps) Trolley MK. 5 = Scuba (Allows breathing underwater and access to tunnels) Trolley MK. 6 = Laser (Adds a laser which can break a laser-grate) Trolley MK. 7 = Horn (Adds a load horn which can dispel Ghost Pigs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 - How do I get to ________________ ---- the roofs of the theatre district!? A - Search the canal for a tiny outcropping under a grate that leads you behind a building. There is a drainpipe there. ---- Uptown? A - Answer: Either upgrade yourself at Boggy’s gym to be able to do a full blown spin attack so you can spin your way over to the bridge and knock it down, or use the Spring upgrade on your vehicle to bounce over to the bridge and knock it down. Either way, knock it down. You could always wait for the laser upgrade and go in the front door, but you aren't that patient, are you? ---- The roofs of Uptown? A - As you walk into uptown, look around the corner. There's a drainpipe. If you can't find it, get out of your vehicle so the large text that says "CLIMB HERE" actually appears. ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 - Is there anything missable in this game? A - Yes, just one thing. "Burn The Witch", the achievement. Just blast Grunty with a laser as soon as you get it. You must blast her in Showdown Town before she moves to Spiral Mountain (i.e. before you enter Spiral Mountain). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 - Can you elaborate on building Vehicles? A - Yes, I am working on a FAQ right now, expect it before New Years 08/09. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6 - Can you elaborate on Swop'n'Swop? A - Yes, I am working on a FAQ right now, expect it before New Years 08/09. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 - Can I buy Bottles' "Stop'n'Swop Truth"? A - Nope, not unless you hack your Xbox 360. I'll spoil it for you though. If you buy it from him via hacking your note score, he says, ""I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you, and we couldn't show that in a game with this rating. Put it out of your mind and think happy thoughts! Thanks for the notes!" -Bottles ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8 - What does the Aerial do? A - Think of it as a Radio. Look for spots where you can hear fun things! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9 - Can I play the game after I beat the final boss? A - Yes; you can go back and do anything. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 - There sure are a lot of Cameos in this game from other games and secrets created by Rare. Do you have a list or FAQ of all of them? A - A Cameo FAQ is too much work, even for me.. For now anyway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Achievements [NABACHV] (*Asterisked achievements are XboxLive only) A Lot of Trophy Pts (40) Earn 60 T.T.
