Walkthrough - Fast Unlocking GuideBayonetta Fast and Cheap Unlock Guide by ahojed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Introduction - Bayonetta is an over-the-top Japanese action game in the vein of Devil May Cry. It's pretty fun. There are a ton of unlockable items and some of them are really hard (or tedious) to unlock. Luckily, there are in-game shortcuts... depending on how much gamer pride you want to give up. This guide goes over those shortcuts. I think it's more fun to play around with all the unlockables and enjoy the game, rather than forcing yourself to spend so much time unlocking something that might end up being a disappointment. And hence, a quick unlock guide. This guide is meant to be read before starting and is spoiler free. You can easily apply it to wherever you are in the game though. Default control assignments are assumed. Here's some quick default controls notes, this guide uses the XBox 360 default controls: X X360 = Square PS3 Y X360 = Triangle PS3 = P (Punch) A X360 = X PS3 B X360 = Circle PS3 = K (Kick) LB X360 = L1 PS3 LT X360 = L2 PS3 RB X360 = R1 PS3 RT X360 = R2 PS3 LS = Left Analog Stick If you have anything interesting to add, please email me at ahojed@yahoo.com. Any feedback, positive or negative (as well as suggestions), are very much desired. If you liked this guide, please show your thanks by visiting my friend's web comic http://gw.aswembar.net. Thanks! An extra thanks to Patchumz and ShinohanDotCom... I used information from them. Thanks also to thecrobar's guide, I used it to find the locations of all the hearts/pearls/alfheim/disks. I've noted the sections. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Revision History - 02/01/10 Initial Version ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Table of Contents - 1. More Chapter 7 Farming Notes - Patchumz ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Fast and Cheap Unlock Guide This is a simple guide to getting all the unlockables in Bayonetta as quickly as possible. Basically, it's a halo farming and item collecting guide, created by combining various other guides and forum posts. Default control assignments are assumed. This guide is meant to be read before starting and is spoiler free. You can easily apply it to wherever you are in the game though. Even following this guide, you're still likely to spend 13 hours or to get all but the last two unlockables. Even after you've collected everything, there's still the other modes and challenges to complete, so you're not really robbing yourself out of fun or challenges by rushing unlocks. Using this guide, you don't have to be very good at action games to get everything. Many of the unlocks we're going to do are via codes in normal mode. The unlocks still costs tons of halos (and your gaming dignity), but in return you can play around with all the items faster. If you start to find unlocking things a chore, then DON'T DO IT. Play to have fun, who cares if it takes a little longer. But to unlock quickly... a) Starting a New Game, Getting 100K Halos First of all, you'll want to play on normal. You get more halos this way and you'll get to unlock hard mode. I wouldn't worry too much about going out of the way collecting hearts pieces, magic pieces, or LPs on your first run. I'd say just collect whatever you find. I would recommend against playing the Alfheim Portals on your first run, they're much easier with better items. But go ahead if you want. By the time you reach Level 8, you'll need to have Durga from Chapter 5, the Skates from Chapter 6, and have saved up at least 100,000 halos to get "Selene's Light", which puts you in automatic Witch Time mode. I had more than enough halos by then and I basically button mashed (PKP!) my way through fights. My tips for early halos... dodge a lot and try to keep up decent combos. Always trade for Halos in the Angel Attack mini game. Don't waste money on items, just use continues. Don't buy anything, you don't need it. If you have extra halos, buy Gaze of Despair after Selene's Light. You don't need the Gaze immediately, but get it the minute you have enough extra halos. If you're having a really hard time collecting Halos, replay Chapter 2. Use the train in the first area to get to the second floor. Destroy all the benches on the second floor, then jump onto the train. The train will drive out the tunnel and you'll get a decent halo bonus. You can then exit to chapter select and repeat as necessary. But it really shouldn't be necessary. So, start a normal game. Get to level 5 and make sure to get Durga. Durga (Claws) Location: Chapter 5 - The Lost Holy Grounds - Split into Three parts Part One: Found after defeating Grace and Glory early in the level. Part Two: Found at the bottom of the windy bridge, after verse 4. Part Three: Found while going up the snake pathway. Part of the way up there is a fountain, jump off the snake path and onto the fountain. Circle around to the other side to find the piece. Then play Level 6 and make sure to get the Ice Skates. Odette (Skates) Location: Chapter 6 - Gates of Paradise - Split into Three parts Part One: Directly behind you in a chest when the level starts. Part Two: In the second area with the Inspired, there is a breakable rock wall on the left side of the area after you enter. It's in a chest behind that. Part Three: Reward for defeating the Joy(s) at the end of the level. Next, make your way to Level 8. Then return to Level 7 by hitting RB at the chapter screen, then choosing chapter select. b) Farming Chapter 7, ~1M Halos in 7 minutes For some nice farming, you should have Durga, Odette, and Selene's Light accessory. Now, we're going to keep replaying Level 7 for awhile. Once you get good at this, you should be able to make over a million halos in about 6 minutes. Even if you're bad at it, you should make 500,000 halos easily. Equip Durga on your hands and Odette on your feet. Equip Selene's Light and, as soon as you can, Gaze of Despair. Durga must be in lightning mode, not fire mode. Switch modes by rotating the LS stick and pressing Y (or whatever you've assigned for P). Durga is used for its quick attacks, the skates for quick movement. Selene's Light will put you in Witch Mode automatically, at the cost of magic, which means you won't lose your combo if you get hit. You don't need magic for anything else anyway, so it's a great deal. The Gaze of Despair makes the boss harder, which means it'll take more hits to beat it, so you can get a higher combo. Gaze of Despair will basically double the halos you get. The "secret" to getting halos is to get really high combos. We'll do this by spamming Y, Durga's quick electric claws, against the boss. Destroy both arms normally, trying to keep up your combo. If you lose it, oh well. After destroying the second arm during climax, RUSH to the first closest front body gem and destoy it. RUSH USING PANTHER MODE to the second gem on the front and destroy it. RUSH USING PANTHER MODE to the final gem on the back. You're rushing to try and keep your combo gage from when you destroyed the second arm. If you do this right, you should easily get at least a 7000 hit combo, which is a lot of halos. If not, better luck next time; don't worry about it. The most halos are coming from the next part, the head. So now you're fighting the head. If you don't have full life and don't think you can kill the head, go ahead and let it kill you, then continue. You'll start at the head with full life. Either way, start fighting the head by spamming Y against it. Try to dodge its attacks if you can, but never lose your combo. If you lose your combo, let it kill you and continue fresh. If you can, let the head eat you (where it forces you to rotate the LS) because afterwards you'll get free hits against the boss. Eventually, you'll kill it. By then, if you have the Gaze of Despair equipped, you'll easily have a 9999 hit combo. Do the Climax as soon as you're prompted, your combo won't continue after you're offered it. Keep replaying Level 7 until you have 5 Million halos. Each replay will count towards the 100 levels you need to complete for the Sai-Fon weapon anyway. c) Farming Chapter 3, ~2M Halos in 3 minutes For better farming, you're going to need the Climax Bracelet. Once you have 5 million, return to stage 2. Go to verse 3, right after Luka is introduced. In this area you can unlock the secret items without having to fulfill the requirements via codes. You still need to pay for them . Outside of combat, stand in front of one of the telephones and input a code. If it doesn't work, keep doing it, the D-Pad sucks. Eventually you'll get the unlock, it may take a lot of tries. A noise will play and the required halos will be visibly subtracted if you did it correctly. All directions are input using the D-Pad, all buttons are the default assignments. The left phone by the stairs is used for Weapon unlocks, the right phone for Accessories, and the stand alone phone on the other end of the plaza by the car is for Characters. Here's another secret. If you return to the title screen IMMEDIATELY after unlocking a character (before the game can save), you can go back to where you left off by using "continue" and you'll have unlocked the character AND kept your halos. This does not work with weapons and accessories. So unlock Jeanne, return to title screen, continue, unlock Little Zero, return to title screen, and continue. Here are the codes: Unlock Jeanne (Character) - Requires 1 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B Unlock Little Zero (Character) - Requires 5 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X Now unlock the Climax Bracelet, which when equipped makes you a stronger Boss Mode Bayonetta, complete with her automatic Wicked Weave attacks. If you use this item, your score does not get sent to the leader boards. Also, your "Play History" will be missing a lot of statues. But it makes unlocking stuff much easier. Here's the code. Unlock Climax Bracelet (Accessory) - Requires 5 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, RT After unlocking the bracelet, might as well finish the level. Rush through with Panther Mode. Return to Chapter 3 and equip the climax bracelet. After defeating the first wave of enemies, head up the stairs at the back of the area. Attack the trashcan here to open an Alfheim portal underneath the nearby overhang. In this one you need to stay in the air for 20 seconds. But we're not going to do that. What we have here is an unlimited supply of easy enemies and 2 full minutes to combo them. Equip the Climax Bracelet and something else (Selene's Light/Gaze of Despair/Bracelet of Time). Use whatever weapon you want (I think Kusheida or Durga are pretty good for this) and rack up a huge combo. Once you fail the challenge, you'll get millions of halos from your high combo and can immediately rush back and do the challenge all over again. So every 2.5 minutes, you should be making a couple millions halos. You don't have to skip cutscenes or Angel Attack... it goes by really fast. Get 15 millions halos or so. d) The Rest Go to the "Gates of Hell" and buy everything. Go back to Chapter 2 and use the rest of the codes as follows: Unlock Bazillions (Weapon) - Requires 1 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Y Unlock Bracelet of Time (Accessory) - Requires 3 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, LT Unlock Eternal Testimony (Accessory) - Requires 2 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, RB Unlock Pillow Talk (Weapon) - Requires 1 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A Unlock Rodin (Weapon) - Requires 3 Million Halos: Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, LB Pillow Talk with the Climax Bracelet accessory is really, really powerful. For your second accessory, use Moon of Mahaa..., Evil Rosary Beads, or Selene's Light... whatever is comfortable. Now finish up normal mode. If it wasn't easy before, it definitely is now. Might as well collect all the health and magic pieces while you go through. Do the Alfeim portals too. Once you finish normal mode, you'll unlock the handguns and gallery, as well as more items in the Gates of Hell. Go buy all of those too. Set your difficulty to easy and go back through the stages, collecting the heart and magic pieces you missed. Do all the Alfheim Portals too. You want to do this on easy because you need to beat all stages on easy in order to unlock the Immortal Marionette (which isn't that useful, by the way, just gives you automatic targeting.) If you don't care about the Marionette, do the stages on normal instead so they'll count towards Sai-Fon. Once you've beaten all Alfheim Portals, you should have unlocked Angel Slayer (which you probably don't have the skill to beat at this point). Finish up the rest of the stages on easy if you want the accessory, it should be a breeze. Now you have all items except for Sai-Fon. You'll need to complete 100 stages (on at least Normal difficulty, but I recommend playing through Hard.) The 100 stages should be fun since you can replay them however you'd like. If you've closely followed this guide, you may not be too good at the game since you just rushed through while button mashing... it's fun to take some time now to learn to play correctly. But if you really want to speed things up, replay short levels like the Prologue. Even with all the unlockables, there's more challenges to do. Beating Hard Mode (which is fun and has VERY different enemy placements compared to Normal Mode) will get you Non Stop Infinite Climax (NSIC) mode, which is just hard mode without Witch Time. I didn't like NSIC mode much. You can fight Rodin by buying the Platinum Ticket in the Gates of Hell. He's pretty tough, I can't beat him without the Climax Bracelet. There's also the Angel Slayer lost chapter, which I can't beat either. You can also go and get all the achievements. Or collect the Umbra Tears (bo- ring.) You can replay the game as Jeanne (and do this guide all over again for slightly modified skins with slightly modified gameplay) or with Little Zero, a flying demon character, who is not fun to play as at all and dies in two hits. So even if you rush through to unlock everything, there's still tons to do, and in my opinion, it's more fun because you get to do it with whatever items you want. As a postscript, you might have read about the Chapter 2 boss farming method, which can give you something like 10 to 20 million halos a go. I don't recommend this method UNLESS you want to unlock everything without codes. In that case, it's the best method. Otherwise, it requires more items than the other methods I've outlined, takes longer than what I've outlined, and performing it requires a little actual skill at the game. Look in the forums for the actual method. You'll need the Bracelet of Time (the sum of all 16 chapters completion time must be less than 3 hours), all moon pearls, Kilgore, and Durga. But you'll get at least 10 million halos for every run through Chapter 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. (Witch Heart / Moon Pearl / Alfheim Portal / LP) Location Guide Here are the heart/pearl/alfheim/disk locations by chapter. They're available at any difficulty. I found them using thecrobar's guide (v 1.3) and redescribed the locations in a format that I think is easier to follow. Thank thecrobar, not so much me, for this section. The items should roughly be in the correct order you'll find them in the chapter, email me if you find a problem. I have no plans to include the tomes or umbras: ----------------- P. Prologue ----------------- None ----------------- I. Chapter 1 ----------------- MOON PEARL 1 - This pearl is underneath the train at the start of the area. In this first area, use the train to jump to the second level. Destroy all the benches along the two long walls. The train will move and the pearl is on the train tracks. ALFHEIM 1, MOON PEARL 2 - Get to where you activate the elevator after using the statues to run across the water, but don't use the elevator. Instead, go back to the pit you got the key from. In this Alfheim portal, the enemies can only be damaged in witch time. It shouldn't be hard. WITCH HEART 1 - After the cutscene with Rodin, the heart will be on a balcony in the same room. WITCH HEART 2 - Outside the building where you met Rodin, the heart is on the right side by the trees. This is right before where you fight that ends with the first Beloved. LP 1 Shotguns (Onyx Rose) - This appears when you defeat the first Beloved. It's obvious. WITCH HEART 3 - In the church room after defeating the first Beloved, the moon pearl will be on a ledge. ----------------- II. Chapter 2 ----------------- WITCH HEART 4 - After the flashback at the start of the level, destroy the statues directly above you. WITCH HEART 5 - After meeting Luka, check the left side of the area. It's near a chest. ALFHEIM 2, MOON PEARL 3 - This portal is where the burning train came from. In this Alfheim portal, you must defeat a Beloved with limited punches and kicks. Hold off on this portal until you can use charged attacks to beat this easily. ALFHEIM 3, WITCH HEART 6 - Next to the burning train, there's a platform between the two buildings. The portal is on the platform. In this Alfheim portal, just defeat the enemies. LP 2 Shuraba (Sword) - This appears after defeating the two Beloved. It's obvious. ALFHEIM 4, MOON PEARL 4 - After defeating the two Beloved, backtrack as far as possible, to the door you needed to break in Witch Time. The portal is there. In this Alfheim portal, you need to use at least 6 torture attacks while killing all of the other enemies. This one is hard, you need to build up a lot of magic and can't get hit much. Kushedra is the best weapon for this because it's weak. Tap Y while in Witch Time for best results. Dodging into Witch Time gives you magic. COMPLETING a taunt does too... tapping LB gives you 1, holding LB down gives you 4. Using the staff Angel Arm, then pressing K and rotating the LS will give you a lot of magic too. Good luck. WITCH HEART 7 - Before using the statues to cross the bridge, jump up on a ledge near the Witch Time bridge. It's on top of the tree on that ledge, not in a chest. MOON PEARL 5 - In a chest near the Witch Time bridge at the end of the level. ----------------- III. Chapter 3 ----------------- ALFHEIM 5, MOON PEARL 6 - Defeat the first wave of enemies. Destroy the trashcans in this first area. One of them opens a portal on a nearby ledge. In this Alfheim portal, you need to stay in the air for 20 seconds. Come back later in the game with the crow ability or Kulshedra weapon (Hold Y in the air) to make this very easy. LP 1 Whip (Kulshedra) - Appears after defeating the first Fearless. It's obvious. ALFHEIM 6, WITCH HEART 8 - On the balcony near the Witch Time bridge from Chapter 2 where you got Witch Heart 7. In this Alfheim portal, you need to defeat the enemies with Angel Arms. Using the staff Angel Arm, then press K and rotate the LS. Or use the Angel Arm that turns into a bow when you press K. Easy. MOON PEARL 7 - Directly after entering the caves, located in a chest behind you. LP 2 Whip (Kulshedra) - When you enter Paradiso later in the chapter, turn left to see a small island off the side of the area. You can walk over there. ALFHEIM 7, MOON PEARL 8 - When you enter Paradiso later in the chapter, turn right to see a small island off the side of the area. The portal is here, you can walk to it. In this Alfheim portal, you need to defeat all of the enemies without using Witch Time. It shouldn't be hard. WITCH HEART 9 - When you enter Paradiso later in the chapter, to the right of where you get the hourglass. It's by a giant tree. ALFHEIM 8, WITCH HEART 10 - After using the hourglass on the bridge, backtrack to the cave you landed in to find it. In this Alfheim portal, you need to use wicked weaves to defeat the enemies. Equip Shuraba and continually use PKP. Or come back with the climax bracelet later. WITCH HEART 11 - Before going up the shaft, this heart is in a chest to your left right after the lava spouts. WITCH HEART 12 - In the area after going up the shaft, this chest is near the side. ----------------- IV. Chapter 4 ----------------- None ----------------- V. Chapter 5 ----------------- LP 1 Claws (Durga) - Appears after defeating the first Grace and Glory. It's obvious. ALFHEIM 9, MOON PEARL 9 - After defeating the first Grace and Glory, backtrack to the start of the level. The portal is there. In this one, enemies can only be damaged in Witch Time. WITCH HEART 13 - After the first Harmonies, this heart is in a nearby chest. LP 2 Claws (Durga) - After defeating the first Harmonies, at the bottom of the windy stairs. It's obvious. MOON PEARL 10 - At the top of the windy stairs right before the tower with the Ardor, in a chest to the left. ALFHEIM 10, WITCH HEART 14 - When you use Witch Walk to climb up the tower, get to the point right before you'd go to the next area, a little after defeating the Harmonies. Go back to the bottom of the tower, where you fought the first Ardors, to find the portal. In this Alfheim portal, you need to stay in the air for 60 seconds. The easiest way to do this is to equip the Kulshedra. Double Jump, hold Y to grab an enemy, double jump again in the air, and repeat until you're done. You can also come back with Crow form later as a backup plan, to make this even easier. ALFHEIM 11, WITCH HEART 15 - When you get to the snake rock path before the first Inspired fight, the portal is directly behind you. In this Alfheim portal, you need to defeat a Grace and Glory with limited punches and kicks. Use charged moves. LP 3 Claws (Durga) - While going up the snake rock path, go to the left to the area with the fountain. Circle around to the other side to find the piece. WITCH HEART 16 - In the tower you climb right after fighting the first Inspired, the heart will be in a chest on a ledge. ----------------- VI. Chapter 6 ----------------- LP 1 Skates (Odette) - Directly behind you in a chest when the level starts. WITCH HEART 17 - After the first fight, in a chest on the ledge of this room. LP 2 Skates (Odette) - In the second area with the Inspired, there is a breakable rock wall on the left side of the area after you enter. (This is in the bottom level with the water.) The LP is in a chest behind the breakable wall. ALFHEIM 12, MOON PEARL 11 - After you defeat the Angels in the first room with all the spikes, head back to where you fought the two Inspired to find the portal. In this Alfheim portal, you need to use at least 5 torture attacks while killing all of the other enemies. Good luck. LP 3 Skates (Odette) - After defeating the Joys in Paradiso. It's obvious. WITCH HEART 18 - After defeating the Joys in Paradiso, it's behind the portal inside of a chest. ----------------- VII. Chapter 7 ----------------- None ----------------- VII. Chapter 8 ----------------- WITCH HEART 19 - During verse three, stay right when you see the second bridge. The heart will be around an offshoot here. WITCH HEART 20 - After the first tunnel in verse 4, keep right. It'll be on an offshoot here. ----------------- IX. Chapter 9 ----------------- WITCH HEART 21 - After the first fight, in a chest in one of the small garden pavillion. This is the courtyard area from Chapter 1. LP 1 Rockets (Kilgore) - After the first fight, located in what was the small church room in Chapter 1. Break down the door with the Sun Symbol to see a chest with it inside. ALFHEIM 13, MOON PEARL 12 - After the first fight, located behind the door with the Sun Symbol that was the entrance to the courtyard in Chapter 1 (the room with the Rodin scene.) Break the door and find the portal. In this Alfheim portal, you can only damage enemies when you press X to leave your body behind. Simply lure the enemies towards you, run to the other side of the screen, press X to ditch your body, then run back and the defeat the enemies. Keep an eye on your body, just in case some enemies happen to make their way there. WITCH HEART 22 - Appears after you construct the key. It's obvious. LP 2 Rockets (Kilgore) - Appears after you defeat the two Kinships. It's obvious. MOON PEARL 13 - After the fight with the Kinships, in a chest to the left. ALFHEIM 14, WITCH HEART 23 - After defeating the Kinships, stand on the stationary one from the fight and look into the distance to see a floating golden platform. It can be hard to see. The portal is there, use Crow form (buy from the Gates of Hell) to reach it. In this one, you have to fight Jeanne. No restrictions, it shouldn't be hard. LP 3 Rockets (Kilgore) - Near the Gates of Hell portal, instead of using the golden path, jump over the huge gap. Run up the stairs with the monster statues to find another door marked with a sun. The LP is behind that breakable door. WITCH HEART 24 - After defeating the Golem, in a chest to the right. ALFHEIM 15, WITCH HEART 25 - After killing the Golem, backtrack all the way to where you fought the Joys. The portal is here. In this Alfheim portal, you have limited punches and kicks to use to defeat a Fairness and Fearless. Use charged attacks. ----------------- X. Chapter 10 ----------------- MOON PEARL 14 - Rotate the island clockwise to connect to a small white platform, it's in a chest on it. ALFHEIM 16, WITCH HEART 26 - Rotate the island clockwise to connect to a small white platform. The portal is here. In this one you can only damage enemies with wicked weaves. USe PKP with Shuraba or the climax bracelet. MOON PEARL 15 - After defeating the three Kinships, jump over them to a golden platform. WITCH HEART 27 - After killing three kinships, jump over them to a golden platform. Look to to see another golden platform far in the distance. Use crow form to reach it. ALFHEIM 17, WITCH HEART 28 - Once you get to the Gates of Hell portal, backtrack to the area before the tentacles. The portal is there. In this Alfheim portal, you need to defeat the enemies with Angel Arms. Using the staff Angel Arm, then press K and rotate the LS. Or use the Angel Arm that turns into a bow when you press K. Easy. WITCH HEART 29 - Attack the wall next to the Gates of Hell portal to break it. Use panther mode to jump over the huge gap and find the heart. ----------------- XI. Chapter 11 ----------------- None ----------------- XII. Chapter 12 ----------------- WITCH HEART 30 - At the start of the level, directly behind you. WITCH HEART 31 - After almost falling out of the plane, in a chest on a catwalk above you. ALFHEIM 18, WITCH HEART 32 - After almost falling out of the plane, go into crow mode and fly across the open cargo bay to the yellow door you entered from, then backtrack to the start of the level. Fight the monsters there and the portal will appear. In this Alfheim portal, you can only damage enemies when you press X to leave your body behind. Lure the enemies close and then run across and ditch your body. Kill the enemies while keeping an eye on your body. ALFHEIM 19, WITCH HEART 33 - After almost falling out of the plane, go to the next area where there's a rotating thing you have to jump on. From here, you can jump into an area with propellers on the right side of the platform, right before the cutscene that leads to the fight with Jeanne. In the propeller room, you'll fight enemies, but you shouldn't kill them. Instead, use them to go into Witch Time so you can run past all the propeller blades. The portal is after the blades. In this Alfheim portal, just beat Golem. When you return, the propellers can be destroyed from behind, so you no longer have to worry about the not killing enemies. ----------------- XIII. Chapter 13 ----------------- None ----------------- XIV. Chapter 14 ----------------- WITCH HEART 34 - When you fight enemies on top of the missle itself, make sure to kill the last one with a torture attack. WITCH HEART 35 - When you fight enemies on top of the missle itself again, make sure to kill the last one with a torture attack. ----------------- XV. Chapter 15 ----------------- WITCH HEART 36 - After the turret gunning section, back track all the way back to the start of the level and panther mode jump across a huge gap. The heart is in a chest here. ALFHEIM 20, WITCH HEART 37 - After the turret gunning section, back track all the way back to the start of the level and panther jump across a huge gap. In this Alfheim portal, you have no Witch Time and all of the enemies are on fire. Good luck. WITCH HEART 38 - In the room with the Jubileus statue, located in a chest around the base of the room. Just move from section to section until you find it in a chest. WITCH HEART 39 - At the top of the tower, after going past the vanishing platforms and right before going on the platform to leave the area. The Witch Heart is in a chest on a different platform in the golden area. MOON PEARL 16 - At the top of the tower, after going through the vanishing platforms and right before leaving the area. The Moon Pearl is in a chest on a different platform in that golden area. ----------------- XVI. Epilogue ----------------- ALFHEIM 21, WITCH HEART 40 - Get to the foot of the Jubileus statue after all the collapsing gold stuff. Walk forward until you get around the Jubileus statue's neck. Backtrack from here down to below the foot of the statue to find the final portal. In this Alfheim portal, you play as Jeanne and can only damage enemies with Wicked Weaves. It should be easy, you can still equip all of Bayonetta's stuff. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Chapter 2 Farming Notes - ShinohanDotCom Visit Shinohan's site for the best guide I've seen to doing the Chapter 2 farming technique, complete with a video. If you don't want to use any codes to unlock things, this is really the way to go. It's basically exploiting the "Kilgore Glitch." It requires a lot of magic, weapons, and the Bracelet of Time (which is unlocked by beating the game in under 3 hours.) You'll need to be able to relaible perform combos and switch weapons all while holding the LB button. Here's the URL that explains the technique: http://www.shinohan.com/homepage/bayonetta-how-to-farm-halos/880/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. More Chapter 7 Farming Notes - Patchumz (I couldn't figure out how to ask Patchumz if I could repost this since all I had was his username. Contact me and I can remove this section. This is just a more detailed explanation to performing the Chapter 7 farming than I provided earlier.) Directly from GameFAQS Forum by Patchumz Alright, since the last guy to post this failed hardcore and earned you about 30k every 4 minutes, here's my way of doing it. There's a couple pre-requisites for this awesome method, but not much. First off, you have to have gotten to the Chapter VII (7) boss. Second, make sure you have Selene's Light (I think it's called) and the Gaze of Despair accessories. If you don't have Gaze of Despair, do my method once without it, and you'll be able to afford it. Third, you need to have the Durga claws, no need for alts, only need them on your hands.. Ice Skates are nice for feet to help movement when not best running, but not required. Alright, now.. put all that stuff on, you don't have to worry about your alternate weapon set, you won't be using it. Go to the boss, he's the only thing you fight in the entire level.. make sure your Durga claws are on Lightning Mode, not Fire Mode. Now, spam Y.. no need for anything else, just spam Y when he's around, take care of those hands of his. Important thing to try to do, when he punched and breaks your platform, keep attacking the other hand that's holding it, when the platform is gone, you'll be able to spam Y in the air and air combo the hand for a while without breaking combo, once you fall, don't worry.. you won't lose any life, you'll get put back on the platform. Rip off both arms eventually, and during that time you don't have to worry about dodging much of anything, maybe a bullet if you want (The fire things he shoots), your Selene's Light accessory should give you Witch Time every time he hurts you, which increases your combo and increases the killing speed. Now, after his arms are gone, you fight all the orbs on his body. One is on the left slightly behind you, one is on the right slightly behind you.. when you destroy one, it sends you back to the middle of his body, if you hurry and beast run to the other side (I usually start on the left, then do the right, then the back.. obviously) you won't break combo, which is great, if you do, don't worry about it. Not the end of the world, but it does help to not break combo if you can. After all his orbs are broken, you'll fight his head.. now here's the first part that you might actually have to think about when fighting :P Make sure you dodge most of his attacks so you don't die, cuz chances are the defenses you had to deal with while fighting the orbs took you down quite a bit of health. If you're good enough to dodge all the orb defenses then you should probably be fine taking ALL the damage the head deals. But above all else, every time you see a weird black/purple spiny tentacle thing come out of his mouth, let it grab you, you'll want to rotate the joystick, and it knocks his head down, where you have time to beat on it without getting damaged. And that's about all, once you kill him, you should have 8,000,000 or more combo score at the very end, that's 800k halos, add in the no item bonus and boss bonus and stuff and you can easily get more. Don't worry if you die, you won't lose close to anything by doing so, combo score is the only thing that matters in this. You can die 5 times and it won't matter.. as long as you don't break combo too often and stuff you'll be good to go. (Note: If you don't have Gaze of Despair you'll probably get around 2m-4m combo score, earning about half or less than WITH it, in case you don't have it yet) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :: Thanks to PlatinumGames/Sega for the game, the people who I copied text from for permission, GameFAQs for the forums, my friends and family for being my friends and family, and always to God. :: This guide was made by ahojed@yahoo.com (except for the noted parts by Patchumz and ShinohanDotCom), so don't outright steal it please. |
