This is a guide that includes information on all 290 monsters that appear
in the Japanese version of Blue Dragon. I composed this not only to provide
a more compact reference to the monsters, but also to present the monsters
in numerical order.
Happily, thanks to the hard work of Raimaro this guide has been upgraded
to include the official English translations of item, monster, town,
and various other names. So please give a big thanks to Raimaro for
helping to add true support for the English versions of Blue Dragon to
this guide!
WARNING: The monster list contains every monster from the beginning of the
game the game to a point near the end, so some spoilers are present.
Japanese text support is necessary to properly display this guide. If the

A. Introduction
Welcome to the Monsters Guide for Blue Dragon. This guide contains much of
the monster information from my Achievement Guide, which can also be found
on GameFAQs. The main purpose of this guide is to be a quick reference to
all 290 unique monsters that appear in the game. As a bonus, I can also
now present the monsters in numerical order.
Here is what you will find in this guide:
- A complete list of all 290 monster that appear in Blue Dragon.
- Locations for all of the monsters.
- Information on what you can steal from many of the monsters.
Here is what you will not find in this guide:
- Details on monster related achievements.
- A list of the items in the game. (Item numbers are still included)
- My recommendations on what you should steal from monsters.

on these subjects.)
B. Complete List of Monsters
Before jumping into the list itself here is a quick explanation of the
monsters in Blue Dragon:
Blue Dragon currently contains 290 different monsters, which can be
divided into the following subsets:
Normal Monsters: Monsters that you can encounter at any point in the game.
Rare Monsters: Monsters that only appear for a limited time.
Summoned Monsters: Non-Rare monsters that do not appear on their own.
The Rare Monsters will be marked with "WARNING" in the monster list that
follows. For more information on these monsters or if you are working on
any monster or item related achievements then please see my Achievement
Guide.
The Summoned Monsters will not be marked in any special way, but
information on how to encounter them will be included.
Here is an example of how each monster will appear in the list:

WARNING: This appears if the monster is a Rare Monster.
Classification: Monster Class in English (Class in Japanese)
Items that can be stolen: Any confirmed items and their numbers will
be listed.
Appears as Monster Party: Info on whether the monster appears
in a monster party or not in the current
area. If "Boss fight" is listed then you will
not be able to run from the fight. Also,
an area in which this monster can be found
will be noted here as well.
Note: Just because a monster can appear as a
monster party does not mean that it will not
appear with other monsters as well.
Monster Fights with: The monster name and number of any monsters that
this monster will fight will appear here.
- If no items that can be stolen or Monster Fights have been confirmed
for a specific monster then these fields will not appear. Also, if
only one item is listed this does not mean that it is the only item
that can be stolen from the monster, it is just only one that has been
confirmed.
You can use the "Find" function to quickly search for a specific monster
in this list. Just make sure to search using the following string:
"Monster ###"
For example, searching for "Monster 001" would take you to the first
monster in the list, the Poo Snake (001).

If you have access to the Mechat already then it far easier to fly to the
South-Western Deserted Island and engage a Poo Snake (001) party there to
fight this monster than to find the correct Roball (075) party inside
the Mecha Base.
