Im playing this game on split-screen co-op with my dad, and we're at the 2nd nightmare stage. We can get death to come down and fight us three times, but after that one of us will loose our ability to use our cursed fire and our cursed crossbow thing. So only one of us is able to attack him the 4th time, but he doesn't come down to fight us, with only one of us being able to attack, we both just end up dying. We've tried this part of the game too many times to count tonight, but the result is still the same.

So my question is:
can someone give me a detailed description of how to defeat death at the end of the 2nd nightmare?

And please tell me yourself in a reply to my question. Dont just give me a link of a walkthrough site, or a video link. Ive looked at a bunch of sites and all the videos i could find on this section but nothing really tells us what we need to do to get him to come fight us a 4th time...
