## About This Guide                                [1ATG] ##

The purpose of this guide is to help with strategies for getting achievements
for the Turok game on the Xbox 360. I just wanted to give something to the
gaming community as so many other kind people have done before me. This is my
very first guide so it probably isn't as good as it could be but if you have
any problems at all with this guide or think that anything should be changed
please contact me. My details are in the contact section.

## Achievements                                      [2A] ##

All the achievements listed within in the sub-sections are in alphabetical
order for easy finding so if there is an achievement you need help with then it
is easily findable. Good luck with trying for the achievements.

== Offline Achievements [2AOF] ==
=================================
This sub-section covers the offline achievements in the game.
There are 14 offline achievements out Turoks total 43 achievements.
The offline achievents amount to 375G.
== 5,4,3,2,1...BOOM! ==
Gamerscore    : 15G
How To Unlock : Kill 3 soldiers with a single frag grenade in story mode.
This is an easy enough achievement and from my experience it is best done on
the level Bad Blood. Keep going through the level until you get into the
enemies base. Keep going through the base until you come to a room with some
monitors. At this bit Turok should comment on the planet being terra-formed or
something of the like. Grab some grenades if you don't already have some.
There are some on the shelves. Now proceed left and down the stairs and you
should see a small group of soldiers round the corner. Throw your grenade and
watch as your achievement unlocks. If you didn't get it just restart from the
last checkpoint and try again.
== Angler Ribbon ==

How To Unlock : Beat the sea creature on the 'Down And Out' level.
You'll get this achievement just by going through the game. The sea creature
is a boss on the 'Down And Out' level. It isn't too hard too beat as it has a
predictable attack pattern. Here's how to beat it if you're stuck.
Before you fight the monster stock up on the napalm grenades and flamethrower
ammo that is lying round. When the fight starts throw all your grenades and
shoot all your napalm grenades (the flamethrowers secondary fire) at the
monster. This should get you some easy damage on it from the get go. The
monster should now start swinging at you with its tentacles. Simply jump over
them and you should be fine. After doing this three times it should dive
underwater then re-appear. Take note of which of the vents has gas coming out
of it because that's the one you need to stand behind. It should start as the
rightmost one then travel left to the leftmost one and then back again if I
remember correctly. The creature should now lung at you. As it does
flamethrower the vent so it explodes in the monsters face. You might get hurt
when it lunged at you but it doesn't matter as you'll recover quickly. After
you've hurt it some more it should start throwing rock at you. These can be
quite awkward to dodge but it doesn't really matter because it one hits you
your health will have recovered by the time the next rock hits you. Wait until
it goes underwater then re-appears again. Hide behing the currently exhaling
vent the flamethrower it as the monster lunges for you. After you've hurt it
further the monster will move onto its final stage of attack. It will grab 2 of
the spires from the ceiling and throw them at you. This is the hardest bit of
the fight. Try you best to roll to the side of them. It will throw 3 pairs at
you. If 2 hit you consecutively your done for so keep on your toes. When it
pops up after its dip in the water it will only lunge at you once before it
goes at you again with the spires. Damage it a couple of times and watch it
plunge to it's watery grave.
== Big Game Ribbon ==

How To Unlock : Beat the T-Rex on the 'Mother Superior' level.
As with the Angler Ribbon you will get this by just going through the story.
You'll have to fight the T-Rex in the 'Mother Superior' level near the end just
after Gonzales is eaten by the T-Rex and you fight off all the T-Rex babies.
Here's how to beat her if you're stuck.
As soon as the battle starts equip you're knife so you can run faster and head
straight for underneath the tree in the middle. Avoid using the shot gun if
you're going for the 'Sell Your Shotguns' achievement. Pulse Rifle works well
here and so does the Sticky Gun if you have one from earlier on. Basically just
stay under the tree, poking out when needed to shoot it. It may sometimes poke
it head through underneath the tree so watch out. It shouldn't hurt you too
much though and it gives you a good shot on its head. Just keep it up until it
falls to the ground. Then quickly equip your knife and run up to it and press
the trigger when the prompt appears on the screen to end the fight.
== Dino Dominance ==

How To Unlock : Kill 50 creatures with the knife in story mode.
This is probably going to be one of the first achievements you get as the knife
is generally the preliminary means of disposing of raptors and like throughout
the game. Just keep killing dinosaurs with the knife as you go and the it wont
be long before the achievement pops up. If you haven't got this achievement
and are going through it on inhuman this will be harder because dinosaurs are
more difficult to knife on inhuman but it still shouldn't be hard.
== Impaler Ribbon ==

How To Unlock : Pin an enemy to the wall with an arrow in story mode.
Easy achievement. Just pull back on the bow for a while to build up some
strength and let loose on an enemy that's standing near a wall to pin him right
up against it. If you can't find a good place to do this refer to the section
for the 'Pincushion' achievement for details.
== It's A Trap! ==

How To Unlock : Lure dinosaurs to kill 5 enemies by sticking a flare to them
in story mode.
I found the best level to do this on was Reunions. Right as the level starts,
just after Turoks flashback to training in Wolf Pack set off forwards into the
grass. I recommend stealthily knife killing the guard that it right in front of
you as you step into the grass. There should be a log leading up to a little
raised section to your left. Walk across the log and onto this section. Then
get your shotgun out and aim at one of the enemies below then shoot a flare
(the shotguns secondary fire) into one of them. A raptor should come from the
left and start attacking him. After the raptor has had it's way with the
soldier press start and then save your current progress. This will save your
current number of soldiers you've lured a dinosaur to. After it's saved restart
from the last checkpoint and repeat another 4 times. After you've lured your
fifth dinosaur to attack the achievement should pop up.
== Loud Love ==

How To Unlock : Kill 3 enemies with a single Rocket Launcher shot in story
mode.
This is easy enough. At anytime where you have a rocket launcher in the game
and there are a group of enemies just fire and say hello to the achievement.
This is easily done when a group of enemies are being dropped off by a
helicopter. Just aim at where it's dropping them off and your set. There are
multiple opportunities throughout the game to do this so it shouldn't be too
much trouble.
== Man Or Animal ==

How To Unlock : Kill 100 soldiers with the knife.
This achievement is easy on the Bad Blood level. Journey through the level
until you enter the enemies base. Slade should then split up from you and
there will be a checkpoint. As you go through the door get your knife out as
there are four enemies waiting to be done over in this room. The first one is
too your right behind the first set of boxes. He's an easy kill. The other 3
shouldn't be hard to pick off. After you've taken care of all the soldier in
this room proceed to the next where there should be another 4 or 5 without
having to go up the stairs. Take care of them all then press start the save
your progress so that you don't lose all the kills you just racked up. Once it
has saved restart from the last checkpoint and repeat until you unlock the
achievement. It shouldn't take that long. Oh and one thing to mention. I'm sure
that despite the achievement description the game gives you the kills don't
have to be stealth. Almost half of mine were not stealth and I still got the
achievement.
== Pincushion ==

How To Unlock : Pin 50 enemies to the wall with arrows in story mode.
This isn't as hard as a lot of people think it is. It's easy on the bad blood
level. Keep going through the level until you enter the enemies base. When
Slade splits up from you and you get a checkpoint the room through the doors
is the place where all the pinning will be taking place. Get your bow out and
go through the doors. Your first target is to your right behind the first set
of boxes. Sneak up on him from the right and pin him against the boxes that
he is facing. Now continue hugging the right wall and taking cover. You have 2
options now. Follow the guy that heading into the room to the left and pin
when is next to the boxes or wait until a guy starts typing stuff into the
just before the stairs at the end of the room and pin him instead. Sometimes
you can get both. You'll probably won't be able to pin all the enemies but most
of the time should at least get 2. After you've got some pins press start and
save your progress. This will make sure you don't lose all the pins you just
racked up. Once it's saved restart from the last checkpoint and repeat until
the achievement is unlocked.
== Sell Your Shotguns ==

How To Unlock : Complete the 'Mother Superior' level without using the shotgun.
This is simple enough. I don't really see much use for the shotgun in this
level anyways except for at the end where you lose your weapons and the
dilophosaurus' attack but it's still easy enough to live without using them.
It's probably best just not to keep a shotgun in your inventory just to avoid
any mistakes. Just complete the level without firing it or using it's flares
an you'll get the achievement.
== Sniper! ==

How To Unlock : Headshot 10 enemies in a row in story mode.
This achievement can actually be quite akward. You can't miss on shot once you
get your first headshot in the streak. 10 in a row. I found the best level to
do this on was End Of The Road. Go through the level until you get to the part
where Reese get shot in the head by an arrow. When the video is finished and
the battle begins immediately grab Reese's Sniper Rifle from next to his dead
body and start picking off the enemies directly in front of you. You should
get at least 1 before the rest eventually get taken out by Cowboy or run off
because of the T-Rex attacking the base. Be careful and try to pick off more
enemies as they appear at the gate. Don't go for the ones that have the T-Rex's
attention as you could have a good shot ready and just as your firing they get
picked up and eaten by the T-Rex. After the T-Rex leaves finish off any enemies
left at the gate. Now get your last few kills by zooming in through the gate
and snipering the troops waiting for you through there. Hopefully you got them
all in the head and the achievement will pop up. The things that make this
achievement so annoying are as follows. Sometimes you have a shot lined up and
you'll either get shot as your shooting which will make your shot stray or
cowboy will shot one you're aiming at just as your shooting and the enemy will
waver making you miss. Also make sure you go for the center of the head just in
case some shots that appear to be headshots sometimes aren't. Just keep it up
and have patience. I know it's annoying if you get 9 then screw up but you'll
get it eventually.
== Turok Campaign Ribbon ==

How To Unlock : Complete the story mode on inhuman difficulty.
Inhuman isn't that bad for the most of it but a few bits (I quiver at the
thought of that elevator bit on Bad Blood) can be quite annoying indeed. Here's
some tips on getting through the game on inhuman.
* Cover is important. Some bits you'll just have to take you're time on because
you're not getting through it any other way. Some enemies can kill you near
instantly on inhuman so you may only have a split second to pop out before
having to return to cover. Be careful.
* Dinosaurs become a lot harder to kill with the knife so the Pulse Rifle may
very well become your new method of dealing with them.
* Speaking of Pulse Rifles they are always handy to carry and there disruption
grenades can be handy for flushing sneaky enemies out from behind there cover.
* Watch out for turrets they are pretty much instant death. The bow is a good
way of dealing with them. Get them when they're not looking. Quickly pop out of
cover then fire your arrow.
I'll probably think of more later but I can just add those at another time if
I think of some. But patience and trying out different strategies is the key to
getting through certain parts of inhuman.
== Turok Defense Force ==

How To Unlock : Fight off 20 raptor mauls in story mode.
This wont take long. Go to a place where there is a lot of raptors and let them
go for you. When raptors start trying to maul you just hit the indicated
buttons like crazy to fight them off. After you've successfully managed to
fight off twenty of them the achievement will pop up.
== Turok Service Ribbon ==
Gamerscore    : 40G
How To Unlock : Complete the story mode on normal or hard difficulty.
This isn't too hard. Just go through the story mode and you'll will get it at
the end. Doing so also unlocks inhuman difficulty which is where the real
challenge comes in. Refer to the 'Turok Campaign Ribbon' section for more info
and tips on inhuman mode.

== Online Achievements (Public/Private Matches) [2AONP] ==
==========================================================
This sub-section will cover all the online achievements that aren't ranked only
achievements. Most of these achievements can be done in ranked matches as well
as player matches but the how to unlock part will tell you the exact details
as some can only be done in private matches and some only in player matches.
Also most of these achievements can be got with a friend if they need them too
(called boosting an achievement) if you want to go that route.
There are 20 online public/private achievements out Turoks total 43
achievements.
The online public/private achievements amount to 365G.
== All-Purpose Warrior ==
Gamerscore    : 30G
How To Unlock : Win 10 public games of each of the following playlists: Small
Team, Large Team and Co-Op.
Well most of this shouldn't be too hard, it's just winning 10 co-op games that
can be awkward as even if you're quite good sometimes you can get matched up
with players that can just be ignorant to your warnings for bits you've done
before or just sometimes player that aren't very good. But just keep playing
co-op games and you'll get it eventually. See the section on the co-op
achievements for tips on the individual co-op maps. The large and small team
wins should just happen as you play online more.
== Arch-Nemesis ==

How To Unlock : Kill the same player 5 times in a row without killing anybody
else in between in a public match.
This isn't too hard especially when in a small free for all game where there is
just a couple of you playing. Just remember the name of the person you want to
kill and just avoid the other players if you can. But as said try and do it on
small free for all and just hope not many people join, sometimes you can just
get a one on one match if you're lucky which makes it an almost guaranteed
achievement unless the guy you're against is really good.
== Arsenal ==

How To Unlock : Achieve at least 1 kill with every weapon in the game during
public play.
This is overall out of all your public matches not just in a single match. Just
keep using different weapons until you get it. If you want a list of all the
weapons then they are as follows: Bow, Flamethrower, Grenade, Knife, Mini-Gun,
Pistol, Pulse Rifle, RPG, Shotgun, Sniper Rifle and the Sticky Gun. Yes you
need to have a grenade kill as well if I recall correctly. Grenade kills are
easy enough if you just sneak up on someone, see a group fighting or see
someone getting mauled by a dinosaur or a scorpion. The rest of the weapons
you'll just end up using anyways and end up getting kills with. Make a note of
which weapons you've already killed with if it makes it easier.
== Boomstick ==

How To Unlock : Destroy a Dilophosaurus with the Sticky Gun during a public
match.
Unless you have the Velociraptor Map Pack this can only be done on co-op map 2
(shadowed paths). After the part where there is rocket launcher turret and you
have to open the gate by activating the terminal there are 2 Dilophosaurus'
after you've dealt with the raptors. There is a Sticky Gun on the floor to the
left near some bones. Pick it up and simply kill one of the Dilophosaurus with
it. Just as a note, make sure it's in a public match and not a private one or
you wont get the achievement.
If you have the map pack then the map Sentinel has a Dilophosaurus wandering
around in it for you to do away with/to screw you over when your trying to kill
someone. Anyhoo in the bit with the huge rocket launcher thing on the top of it
there is a ladder coming off of the side of it which leads to a sticky gun.
Simply find the Dilophosaurus and blow it up with gun for the achievement.
== Buddy Blowout ==

How To Unlock : Play a full 8 vs 8 private team game.
This is one of those really pain in the ass achievements that will just become
harder to get as time goes on the online community gets smaller. There are some
tips for getting it though if your after it. If someone invites you to an
online game then accept because they might be trying to get it. While in the
lobby waiting for players to join invite everyone on your recent players list
and get everyone else to do the same. It might take a long time before you get
sixteen players so you have to have patience. Also if anyone quits then you
don't get the achievement so try and clear that with everyone before the game
starts and good luck.
== Co-Op 1 ==

How To Unlock : Finish Co-Op Map 1 (The Lost Valley).
This can be in either a private or a player match but I recommend player
matches so you can rack up wins for the All-Purpose Warrior achievement. Also
co-op maps are a lot easier with a full party of 4 generally. 2 can be quite
hard at some points. Anyways here's a small guide for co-op map 1.
At the start of the level after you've killed the initial few enemies on the
hill there is an enemy up on a ledge with an RPG. Watch out he can be lethal.
The bow is a good way of taking him out as you can just pop round into view and
send a well pulled arrow into him. After this bit grab the Mini-Gun an enemy
has as it can be handy soon. At this next bit after the raptor watch out for
snipers ahead as well as Mini-Gun Turret to the right which will be manned
sooner or later. After you've hacked the terminals to open the gate deploy the
mini-gun as a turret and hold back. Enemies will keep coming at you but just
keep back and shoot them from cover. Watch out for snipers that are lurking on
the catwalk. If it's completely safe you may also want to go out and pick-up
the mini-gun to reload it and then place it again. The enemies may seem to keep
coming but they have a limit so just keep taking them out from cover until
there are none left and then go and hack the terminals. Watch out because after
you've hacked them enemies will come from all angles including the path you
came through to get to the base. Watch out as some enemies have RPGs. If you
see an rocket heading your way roll to the side to dodge it. After you've taken
care of the enemies just keep going through the level until you get to the end.
Prepare for Dilophosaurus' and enemies with RPGs and just try and hold out
until the counter reaches zero and if you do you've beat the level.
== Co-Op 2 ==

How To Unlock : Finish Co-Op Map 2 (Shadowed Paths).
This can be in either a private or a player match but I recommend player
matches so you can rack up wins for the All-Purpose Warrior achievement. Also
co-op maps are a lot easier with a full party of 4 generally. 2 can be quite
hard at some points. Anyways here's a small guide for co-op map 2.
At the start of the level someone will have to get the bomb for later. Then
just proceed on killing enemies (watch out for the sniper) until they're all
done then whoever has the bomb will have to plant it. Go through the gate and
take care of the enemies that come out the APC (a grenade works wonders). When
you've done the enemies over take cover as there is a manned RPG turret ahead
as well as a sniper on the raised platform to the right. Take out the sniper
first. Then go for the guy on the RPG turret but be careful. If you see a
rocket heading you way roll to the side to avoid it. You can either take out
the person manning the RPG turret from a distance or go up to the left of the
building he is on top of (it's not hard to make it there while avoiding the
rockets) and there is a spot where you can shoot him but he can't get you and
you can take him out easy from there. Watch out for the grenades the enemies
seem to like to throw down at you though. After all the enemies are done hack
the terminal then get on the RPG turret and fire at soldiers that come through
the gate. Then proceed through the gate and take care of the raptors and then
the Dilophosaurus' will make their entrance. If you are playing in a player
match and don't have the boomstick achievement yet this is the only place to
get it. See the section on the achievement for more information. Anyhoo you're
coming up to the last bit of the map. grab the sniper and snipe out there
sniper who is hanging out on top of the building to the right. Also there will
be a guy manning the RPG turret to the left. Take him out too. Then go in and
finish the rest of the soldiers. Once that is done you're going to have to
survive and protect a helicopter for a few minutes. Stay as safe as you can but
don't let the enemies destroy the helicopter. Watch out for snipers and people
with RPGs. It may help to note that the next batch of enemies won't come if
there is still at least one enemy still roaming around.
== Co-Op 3 ==

How To Unlock : Finish Co-Op Map 2 (Breaking The Sword).
This can be in either a private or a player match but I recommend player
matches so you can rack up wins for the All-Purpose Warrior achievement. Also
co-op maps are a lot easier with a full party of 4 generally. 2 can be quite
hard at some points. Anyways here's a small guide for co-op map 3.
Right from the get go there is a sniper behind the doors . But anyhoo take out
everybody on the upper platform and once you've done that some enemies will
come out from a door on the lower level. After you've beaten all of them a door
will open. Get your knife out and go through the doors knife killing the
unaware soldier inside and then hack the terminal. Enemies will come though
boths doors now but a quick grenade easily takes care of them. After they are
done go through the door on the right and you will eventually end up the upper
platform that enemies were attacking you from before. You have to hack the two
terminals to open the door to the next area but watch out as enemies will rush
you from the left and the right. Once your through the door hack the terminal
too gas the dinosaur. Then a door will open  with a group of enemies waiting. A
grenade will easily kill them all. In the next area lots of enemies will hide
behind some cover. If you have any left throw grenades and if you have a pulse
rifle fire disruption grenades (secondary fire) to take out a few from the get
go. After that watch the doors as more enemies will come through, There are
loads of weapons lying around if you want some too. Hack the terminal and
through to the next room which has some giant scorpions in so watch out. On the
upper area there is a Sticky Gun which I personally like to pick up (it's my
favourite weapon). Just be careful about using its secondary fire as team mates
have a tendency to accidentally walk over it and die. Anyhoo continue on to the
next room hacking the terminals and taking care of the enemies. In the next
area you have to descend to the area below. Since there are a lot of enemies
down there I recommend sitting atop the pipes and taking some out from there
before descending below to hack the terminals. Once you've hacked the terminals
climb up the ladders and take the elevators up until you get to the highest
level where there should be a terminal. Watch out for enemies particularly the
sniper on the highest level. Once you have hacked the terminal destroy the four
power cores (the blueish things) and the place will start flooding with
radiation. Escape through the door with the green lights on and keep going. You
will eventually reach a room with some more giant scorpions in. Hold on you're
almost there. The door should open to the next area. Watch out at this bit
because the sniper outside can get you even when your inside so stay in cover.
When you get outside watch out for enemies with RPGs and the sniper. Raptors
can also screw you over at this bit since you're a sitting duck for the RPG
when they are mauling you. Don't rush for the helicopter as simply getting to
it wont win you the game. Kill all the enemies and your mission is done. Keep
your mind sharp as the sniper and RPG guys are lethal. There are a couple of
Sniper Rifles on the sniping platform for you if you want to get them but keep
a lookout as the RPG guy will be on to you. Good luck.
== Crack Shot ==

How To Unlock : Kill 5 enemies in a public game with headshots.
Not too hard actually if you're really trying for it. Sniper when you can and
the pistol also work well. The flamethrower is also surprisingly good for
getting headshots. Just aim upwards with a bit and you'll probably get one.
Also if someone's unaware of your presence it's a perfect opportunity to take
aim stick a cap in their head. You can tell if you got a headshot by looking to
see if there is a little red marker on your weapon icon where it tells you
who's killed who.
== Dino Hunter ==

How To Unlock : Kill 20 dinosaurs in one public match.
A good map to do this on is Fire Storm since a ton of raptors spawn in that bit
that links the trenches. This is easiest done on small team or free for all
games since there are less people to screw you over and even some people to
take out the enemies on team games. Just keep knifing them as they spawn and
you'll have after the twentieth one has fallen.
== Exterminator ==

How To Unlock : Kill 20 scorpions in one public match.
Spire is easily the best map to do this on as the only other map I can think of
that has the bugs on it is A Heated Rivalry and that's only if you release them
and they don't come many at a time. Anyways on the spire there is always plenty
of bugs under the bridge. The Mini-Gun mows them down easily. Keep going until
20 have fallen. Just as with the Dino Hunter achievement a small team or small
free for game works best for this as it limits interruptions.
== Gamesman ==

How To Unlock : Play full private or public match each of the following
playlists: Small Free For All, Large Free For All Small Team,
Large Team and Co-Op.
Not much to say here really. Just play a full match of each of the playlists.
This means no quitting half way through remember. And it can be private, public
or ranked. Easy stuff, you'll get it very quickly.
== Grab Bag ==

How To Unlock : Kill at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 ally, and yourself in a
public match.
This is an easy one, can only be done in a team game as you've probably already
worked out. Kill one creature (dinosaur or bug) and 1 enemy. After that your
gonna have to kill an ally. Hey no hard feelings if it's an "accident" (man
sarcasm is awkward in text but note my attempt with the quote marks) right?
Waiting until there knifing someone and then chuck a grenade their way for the
kill (Sticky Gun or RPG also works). After you've done that just throw a
grenade to the floor directly in front of you to commit suicide and say hello
to the achievement.
== Great Round ==

How To Unlock : Finish a Public Deathmatch with a battle rating greater than
100.
This can be either a team deathmatch or free for all, it doesn't matter which
one. But essentially the idea is that if you do well in the match you'll
probably come out with battle rating over one hundred. I can't teach you how
to be good on multiplayer but you get better by playing more and the
achievement isn't as hard as it sounds just have patience and you will
eventually get it.
== Hometown Hero ==

How To Unlock : Return the flag to your base 5 times in one public match.
This isn't as hard as it sounds. It doesn't mean returning the enemy flag to
your base five times as that just isn't happening in a single public match. It
means returning your own flag to your base five times after the enemy has
dropped it. Just wait near your flag but not too near or they will likely try
to kill you before they pick up the flag. Just wait until they have the flag
and are running with it and shoot them down and then run over the flag to
return it to your base. Since the enemy runs slower when they are holding the
flag they are easy knife targets if your prefer that. If your doing this in a
ranked match you'll probably get the Thorn In Side achievement at the same
time. See the separate section for that achievement for more details.
== Massive Battle ==

How To Unlock : Play a full 6 vs 6 public match.
Yes that means if anyone quits part way through the match you don't get it.
This should be a very easy achievement but quitting seems to be common practise
in Turok multiplayer. Anyways just keep playing full large team games until you
get it. If you're having trouble you could try asking the other people in the
game not to quit because you're trying to get the achievement. I've been a few
game where people have done that and it had worked.
== Pacifist ==

How To Unlock : Play a full public match with no shots fired or kills awarded,
capturing the flag at least twice.
