Glitch - Back in Time (BiT) Glitch How-To

by GamingProdigy Nov 15, 2012

The Back in Time glitch, or Bit for short is a glitch that allows you to play your game in a previous event that you had done in the past. In this case, it allows you to battle and defeat both phases of King Bulblin (First phase: Hyrule Field. Second phase: Bridge of Eldin). There are two different methods of doing this glitch. You can do it as either human Link or Wolf Link. In my opinion, it's much easier to do as Wolf Link. Here's how to do it:

Human Link:

Step 1: Enter Arbiter's Grounds.

Step 2: Walk into the quicksand that's right in front of the entrance so that you sink.

Step 3: Press the Home Menu button on the Wii remote right when you see the tips of Link's last three fingers.

Step 4: Restart the Wii.

Wolf Link:

Step 1: Enter Arbiter's Grounds.

Step 2: Go to the very end of the walkway and go to the right corner and then run into the quicksand, then quickly turn left before you sink. This way when Wolf Link sinks and you need to look at his arm demonstrated in the following step, Midna won't be blocking your view.

Step 3: Press the Home Menu button on the Wii remote right as soon as you see the quicksand touch the very bottom of Wolf Link's shackle that's on his wrist.

Step 4: Restart the Wii.

If done correctly either way, you will see human Link get recover on the Bridge of Eldin. If done incorrectly, you will see the title screen that tells you to press A and B and you'll have to restart the entire glitch.

CAUTION: DO NOT PRESS "A" OR "B" ON THE WII REMOTE!!! DOING SO WILL CAUSE THE GAME TO FREEZE!!! If the game freezes, just hold down the power button on the Wii for a few seconds and you'll have to restart this glitch from the beginning again. You can press any other button on the Wii remote and Nunchuck without the game freezing. You can swing them as well. Just do not press A or B on the Wii remote!

If you want to press A and/or B, just jump off into any empty void because once you do, you will then be able to press A and B without the game crashing.

NOTE: Link will respawn on the Bridge of Eldin wearing his green normal clothes, with the Ordon Sword and the Hylian Shield with three hearts, but it won't show you having any hearts at all until you jump off. Also, your Ordon Sword and Hylian Shield won't be displayed in you inventory. One heart will be gone as soon as you respawn on the bridge. Another one will be gone once you just off so that you can press A and B safely.

By doing this glitch you can do 2 other things after respawning on the Bridge of Eldin. You can go to what is called "Twilight Kakoriko Village or you can go to normal Faron Woods. Here's how you can get to both of them:

Twilight Kakorko Village:

Step 1: Once you've respawned on the Bridge of Eldin, jump off into an empty void once, then do it again so that you get the Game Over screen.

Step 2: At the Game Over screen select retry.

Now you will resume standing on the Bridge of Eldin in the cutscene where you meet King Bulblin after he had kidnapped the innocent children. After the cutscene, your on Epona in Hyrule Field with King Bulblin. Now the battle starts.

Step 3: Defeat the first phase of Bing Bulblin, than the second phase.

After the cutscenes, Link will now be in Kakoriko Village, but in the Twilight; hence "Twilight Kakoriko Village". You will see Epona a few steps ahead of you. You can't do much here, unfortunately. You can go visit the graveyard and the Death Mountain Trail if you wish. Once you're ready to leave the village, mount Epona and jump over the locked gate that's just past the Death Mountain and as soon as you do, dismount from Epona because the game doesn't let you enter Twilight Hyrule Field with Epona. If you try to, the game will freeze.

CAUTION: Do not go into the Kakoriko Gorge loading zone with Epona. If you do, the game will freeze. You can walk into it without Epona, but you can't get past that locked gate that's in Kakoriko Gorge. Also, the game may freeze when entering or exiting any building in Twilight Kakorko Village. It MAY happen. It just haves at a rare random.

NOTE: While in the twilight, there are no people. Therefore there are no Gorons, cuocos, or civilians in Twilight Kakoriko Village.

Once in Hyrule Field, you can walk past the Bridge of Eldin, but you will eventually come to the Wall of Twilight in which you cannot get past. If you walk up to it, Midna will come out telling you that you go there, that you can't return to the world of light that easy. Then you automatically walk up to the Wall of Twilight and get stuck walking up to it forever. This then causes you to restart the Wii.

Here's how you can enter Faron Woods.

Faron Woods:

Step 1: Once you have successfully done the Back in Time glitch, jump into an empty void. Doing this allows you to save the game.

Step 2: Save the game.

Step 3: Restart the Wii.

Step 4: At the file selection screen, select the file that you had just save that Back in Time glitch on to and start it.

If done correctly, you should be in Faron Woods with everything that you possessed during the Back in Time glitch. Faron Woods is not in the Twilight.
